What is life like at IIM Indore?

Life at an IIM will be very different from what you experienced in your undergraduate course. You will come across various emotions for the very first time and it is true with other IIMs as well.

1. If you become a student of IIM Indore, expect to be busy all the time as something or the other will keep on popping up. There will be presentations, quizzes, assignments, fests you name it.
2. There is a students’ body in IIM Indore and it has its own shop which looks after the daily needs of the students. Apart from groceries, it advises students on how to run businesses. It can be a very good learning experience.

Life at IIM Indore can be best described in three words; long, tiresome yet dynamic. Being an IIM, students are expected to be on their feet to grab every possible opportunity. A set routine with endless classes & curricular is a prerequisite.

Daily life can be best understood by the factors mentioned below:

Campus Location

• The campus is situated on a hill making it even more explorable and attractive. 
• There are 3 levels on the campus at different heights around the hill.
• The Sports Complex, Mess, and student hostels are on the lowest level i.e. Level -3.
• Other hostels and mess are on Level 2 whereas the Academic block and Auditorium are on Level 1.

Class Routine

• The classes start early in the morning around 8:45. 
• Students are expected to be punctual and be prepared with the readings circulated in advance.
• The sessions are 75 minutes long with minimal 15 minutes tea breaks.

Student Councils & Clubs

• The other inevitable element of life in IIM Indore is the Students Activity Council which conducts competitions, activities. 
• Most of them also indulge in small businesses within the campus itself.

Faculty & Administration

• The students are taught by both visiting and regular faculty members. 
• Efficient staff members are there who take care of the Institute's administration.
