BITS Pilani should open up in September. The country will probably not recover from the pandemic before this. With the number of vaccinations going around, it will take some time.
You can think about a little, there are about 10 lakhs JEE Main applicants. Of this, only 5000 are selected for IIT. Even if we consider the death rate of just 18 to 20 years old, it is about 0.05%. This is equivalent to the number of people selected by IIT.
Even if lives are lost that are equivalent to the IIT intake, nothing much could happen. In the end, the decision is to be taken by the Senate and the guidelines provided by UGC. If nothing materializes, the online classes will definitely continue and any changes will be informed by the authorities to students.
NIT Delhi is definitely not the worst NIT given its excellent planet scenario. However, it's true that NIT Delhi hasn't reached the level of other NITs, and it's because it's in its infancy stage. It still has many obstacles to overcome which it certainly is doing gradually.
The reason NIT Delhi is ranked poorly is that the major criteria considered by these ranking bodies are faculties research work, placement, campus, and infrastructure and sadly NIT Delhi lacks in all these aspects. It has no permanent campus and the infrastructure is also pathetic. The institute attracts less quality professors and has a low permanent-teacher ratio. All these factors combined affect the ranking of the institute.
A number of factors combined together make NSUT one of the premier engineering colleges in the country.
However, in recent years both DTU and NSUT have increased their intake exponentially and have lost the charm of being the best Engineering colleges in Delhi. NIT Delhi and IIIT Delhi seem to have taken their place now. So unless the students of NSUT help restore its brand value, the institute will be a total failure in the future.
One of my friends was a student at NIT Kurukshetra and shared his experience. He loved his college because of its excellent placement scenario. It’s one of the top NITs and is highly regarded in the engineering industry. All the branches of the institute have a great placement scenario like most NITs with the most preferred ones being CS and IT branches.
The faculty members are also highly qualified and one cannot doubt their parity. Most of them are Ph.D. holders from big institutes like IITs. They guide and encourage the students to help them achieve their goals.
The infrastructure of NIT Kurukshetra is slowly being renovated and recently new hostels, and swimming pools, have been made and the old infrastructure has been renovated. Overall the institute has decent infrastructural facilities so that should not be a major concern.
Unless you have options from better IITs and branches you should consider joining NIT Kurukshetra.
The lateral entry program of IIIT Hyderabad offers admission into the B.Tech+MS by Research dual degree.
Dual degree students face some disadvantages when it comes to placements. First of all, the research tag makes companies fear that the MS student might leave soon to pursue higher studies. Secondly, DD students do not get as much time to prepare for placements as other students. Choose a dual degree only if you are interested in research. You will work with the best brains in the country at IIIT Hyderabad, but you will spend a lot of time on this course.
Though officially the lateral entry program at IIIT Hyderabad allows you to complete your dual degree in 4 years, usually your MS will take at least a year more. You will also get admissions after completing two years of your B.Tech/ related degree at another institution and will have to study the 1st year curriculum before getting into the 3rd year curriculum. This will take a total time of at least 7 years.
A better option is if you continue with your B.Tech degree from your own college and then go for an MS degree at IIIT Hyderabad. You will complete all this in a total of 6 years and end up spending a year less or at most, an equal amount of time as in the lateral program.
The MCA program offered by NIT Kurukshetra is highly regarded and can be compared to that of NIT Trichy easily. It offers the resources, academic environment, and facilities necessary for a good learning experience. However, at some point, you have to resort to self-studying because the teachers cannot spoon-feed you all the time.
You will have to make yourself eligible for the placements by working hard to add value to your CV. More than the reputation of the institute it's your efforts that matter. You can join various tech clubs to get better exposure and learn coding.

In my opinion, any college that has decent placements will offer great opportunities if you are determined and work hard to achieve your goals.
I am a student at NSUT Delhi. I do not regret joining this institution at all. At NSIT, you will get the opportunity to explore your interests and participate in various college societies. Through societies, you can connect with seniors who are very helpful and supportive.
In comparison to other colleges, NSUT Delhi has many advantages-
Have faith in your choice and make the most out of this opportunity. Remember that nothing comes out of regret. Also, this institution is a great place to be in.
Based on the XAT exam trends in the past few years, a low score of 35 in XAT 2020 mostly leads to a high percentile. XLRI XAT cut-off is likely to be around 96 percentile for the flagship PGDM-BM program.
A low score of 33-34 in XAT 2021 will lead to high percentile experts have predicted this fact based on the trends in the XAT exam over the last many years.
The cutoff for the previous academic year 2020 for all different categories is given below:
XAT sections | Male | Female |
VALR | 74 | 72 |
DM | 78 | 74 |
QA | 85 | 75 |
Overall | 95 | 93 |
For the BM course in XLRI, the safe score considered is 35-37 in the XAT exam. In terms of percentile, a 95+ is safe when backed up by the preferable XAT score. It then increases the chance of getting selected in the XLRI BM course without any hassle. For the year 2021, a slight raise may be expected but it is not sure to be considered.
Here are a few drawbacks of pursuing an MBBS from KGMU
However, these cons can easily be overlooked considering the unending pros the institute has to offer.
Yes, you can certainly recover your marks even after a few bad mid-semester exams at Thapar University. One midterm will not affect your overall grades so you can rest your worries. One of my friends scored a 6.3 in his first semester but passed out of college with an 8.74 aggregate GPA. Here are a few tips that might help:
You don't have to worry about your poor marks in mid-semesters as you still have time to improve.
