Is studying law at NLSIU a good option? Many of my friends dropped out of there saying it was very hectic and boring with no extracurricular.

SS

B.A.LLB (Hons.) from National Law School of India University, Bangalore (2017)

It can be said that NLSIU is the best institute for law. Here are some reasons as to why.

  • The library at NLSIU is one of the biggest in the country.
  • As far as extracurriculars are concerned, every trimester has something to offer.
  • In the first semester, there's Spiritus which is the biggest sports fest among all the law schools with participation from more than 20–30 colleges.
  • In the second trimester, there are Strawberry fields which is one of the biggest music festivals in the country with the participation of more than 60 bands from all over the country.
  • Lastly, in every trimester there's also some sporting event within the campus like gully cricket league, football league, and basketball league, and so on.
  • If you include debate moots, etc. it has so much to offer.
  • In the third semester, a whole week is devoted to extracurriculars from dance to music to dress-up competitions, etc.

Studying at NLSIU is hectic but never boring and the statement about no extracurricular activities is false. There are so many extracurricular activities that you might sometimes get confused about which to take part in.

What are hostels like in IIIT Pune? How is life there? What sports can we play? Is there a WiFi?

JP
Jaydev Patil Posted On : March 19th, 2021
B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering, Indian Institute of Information Technology, Pune (2020)

The condition of hostels in IIIT Pune is quite good, compared to most top institutes in the country. There are several reviews about IIIT Pune hostels, Wi-Fi accessibility, and sports opportunities on campus, and some of them are listed below.

  • The rooms of IIIT Pune hostels are on a 2-sharing basis. In the girl’s hostel, rooms are styled like apartments with attached bathrooms in each room.
  • The main building in IIIT Pune has an in-built Wi-Fi facility available. Previously, there was no Wi-Fi in hostels, but now it is installed.
  • The campus of IIIT Pune doesn’t provide the typical college life with a huge number of students and great city life. The overall batch of IIIT Pune is quite small, with everyone familiar with one another.
  • There are several clubs in IIIT Pune for events and participation. You can get into those according to your choice. Usually, you will get a lot of free time after classes and on weekends too if you don’t join a club or the other.
  • Pune city is somewhat far from campus and so, transportation is a bit difficult for students, and self-transport arrangement is preferred.
  • The campus of IIIT Pune is small and beautiful, with nice weather and a peaceful environment. There are hills surrounding the campus where hiking opportunities are available.
  • As per as sports is concerned, cricket, volleyball, football, table tennis, badminton, and some indoor games are available, so the number of options for sports are limited.

This is the overall overview of the campus life, hostels, and Wi-Fi facility on the campus of IIIT Pune, which is considered to be decent and satisfying.

What is the student life in Vasavi College of Engineering?

NR
Nandini Roy Posted On : August 24th, 2021
B.E from Vasavi College of Engineering (2020)

I can answer the question since I have a few friends from Vasavi College of Engineering.

Vasavi college of engineering has a great placement record that attracts students. However, the real scenario at the institute is a little different. The academic environment is very poor and the students who are from non-IT branches are also forced to study IT subjects because in the end they are also being placed into an IT company.

Before getting attracted to the placement records, look out for the companies in which the students are being offered jobs. The work-life after getting placed is very hectic.

How are the classrooms and campus at ISI Kolkata? Are the classrooms air conditioned?

TV
Tejas Verma Posted On : September 4th, 2021
M.Tech Computer Science, Indian Statistical Institute (2014)

ISI Kolkata is a very good mix of the old school and modern infrastructure. There are classes that have a typical old-school vibe like a tall ceiling, fans hanging from rods, typical old wooden benches and desks, a traditional wood-lined blackboard with chalks and dusters.

There are fully air-conditioned classes, gallery-type classrooms and all other modern facilities you will ever need. The campus is lush green, close to the River Hooghly and thus cool winds blow throughout the day. There are open areas for playgrounds, ponds along with the hostels and the academic blocks.

How is life of a student in NIT Rourkela?

PA
Prateek Acharya Posted On : January 15th, 2022
B.Tech Industrial Design, National Institute of Technology, Rourkela (2018)

Life at NIT Rourkela is really good. They have a huge campus which is green and clean which provides a healthy educational environment. Unlike many other institutions, NIT Rourkela provides you with much flexibility considering hostel timings. The curfew time for students is around 11 PM. You have night canteens in every hostel, readily available to cater till 2 in the morning.

Hostels are clean and initially double seated but by final year students get single occupancy rooms. The whole campus is wifi enabled. The mess food is healthy and hygienic. The student crow is diverse thus you get to learn about other cultures as well.

Extracurricular activities such as swimming, gym, basketball, table tennis, volleyball, cricket, etc. are accessed by students. You have many clubs to take part in and enhance your skills. Fests are held throughout the year.

Lastly there are also some things you need to get adjusted to like the climate, which is extreme. The mess food will take time to get used to, especially if you are an outstation student. Rules are strictly followed and maintaining a 75% attendance is a must, skipping which you will not be allowed to sit for the exam.

Overall life at NIT Rourkela is energetic where you will learn many new things and by the end you will transform into a well adjusted individual.
