Do students of AIIMS Delhi get opportunity to go to US UK during MBBS?

PA
Puneet Aarya Posted On : June 7th, 2023
MBBS from All India Institute of Medical Sciences

AIIMS Delhi does provide opportunities to its students to go to US and UK during their MBBS.

AIIMS Delhi has exchange programs and collaborations with international universities to facilitate the same. These universities include Harvard Medical School, John Hopkins University, Yale University, and the University of Oxford.

Students of AIIMS Delhi, through these collaborations, travel to the US and UK for exchange programs and research internships. This offers them insights into different healthcare systems and research methodologies. It is a huge learning opportunity that offers enhancement of their development as medical professionals.

To participate, candidates must face high competition and the selection is based on academic performance, and research experience, among other criteria.

But, travel and living expenses can cause a bit of a problem. Travels to Harvard Medical School, John Hopkins University, and the University of Oxford are self-funded.

These expenses can come from your pocket. But even ICMR can provide you grant for your research if you convince ICMR of the potential of your research work.

AR
Arnav Roy Posted On : July 26th, 2023
Lives in Kolkata, West Bengal, India

KIIT has not released the branch-wise placements for 2023 to date. However, it has released the overall placement figures for B.Tech, for the year 2023.

As CS is the most rewarding branch in terms of placements at present, you can closely associate these placement figures with the performance of the CS branch and the top 20 students of CS.

KIIT has recorded 90% + campus placements till date. Approximately 3000 students got on-campus placement offers.
4500+ offers were generated from 350+ companies out of which, 120+ were new.
The average CTC was recorded at approx. INR 6.50 LPA.
80 companies offered a CTC of INR 10 LPA and above.
The Highest CTC offered was INR 63 LPA by YugaByte Software (P) Ltd.
2100 students were offered summer internships via the “Capstone Project” route.
1500+ paid semester internships were offered.
Capegemini was the top recruiter on campus. It gave offers to 346 students. It was followed by Bosch Global Software Technologies (P) Ltd. with 242 job offers.
IT Mass Recruitment Campus Drives generated 1300 job offers from companies like Accenture, Cognizant, Capgemini, Mindtree, Bosch, Ericsson, IBM, among others.

These were the major placement highlights for B.Tech for the year 2023 at KIIT. From these figures, you can clearly see the promising state of placements at KIIT for the CS branch.

How is the life of a female medical student at AFMC, Pune?

RT
Raktim Tarafdar Posted On : September 22nd, 2023

The life of a female student at AFMC Pune depends on whichever semester you are in. During the initial years, you receive training from your seniors regarding the rules and regulations of the colleges. Moreover, the female population is very less so you might face issues adjusting and adapting to the new system. Specifically for females, the following points should be considered

  • The hostel rules are relatively more strict for girls than boys to ensure minimal opposite-gender interaction.
  • You will be highly cheered on if you are a good athlete as females being involved in sports is a rare scenario.
  • You will be expected to be good culturally meaning all the decorations during Silhouettes, the annual fest will be your responsibility solely. Moreover, your participation in Dance, drama, music, debate, and quizzing activities is highly expected.

However, there is no discrimination whatsoever in terms of academics. This is what the daily schedule of a female medical student at AFMC Pune looks like

  • Morning PT--6 am-7 am
  • Classes—8 am-1 pm and 2 pm-4 pm
  • Lunch—1pm-2pm
  • Sports—5 pm-7 pm
  • Dinner—7 pm-8 pm
  • Joint Sensitisation Program—8 pm-9 pm

So the day of a female student at AFMC Pune typically begins around 6 in the morning and lasts till 9 at night.

Which is better, IITD civil or IIT Dhanbad for CS?

RT
Raktim Tarafdar Posted On : October 11th, 2023

Since you haven’t mentioned the branch you are interested in, I will assume you have no particular preference. Now, the primary factor to consider is if you value the brand of the college or the branch of your choice. Consider the following points

  • You can go for a less preferred branch at the top 5 IITs and then work hard for branch change. But this would be risky as branch change is very difficult.
  • If your target is to get placed with excellent packages, then choose the CSE branch, it has the best job opportunities.
  • You can also choose to work for noncore placements at the top 5 IITs. However, this will be very time-consuming as you have to manage both your noncore branch and CSE.

The best option would be to choose IIT Dhanbad CSE. It’s true that it won’t offer the opportunities and exposure that the top 5 IITs would but for me branch is more important than the brand name of the college. So, choose according to your preferences.

How difficult is the AI course from IISc Bangalore for a graduate from Computer Science?

AB
Aditi Banerjee Posted On : July 14th, 2023
Lives in Bangalore

Well to be very honest, the AI course from IISv Bangalore is quite challenging for a graduate from CS. The course revolves around mathematical concepts. The fast-paced and rigorous curriculum makes it difficult to identify your weaknesses and work on them. Let me clarify the point that this scenario is not just in the case of IISc but AI in general is a field all about Math. It’s specially designed for those who are genuinely interested in this field.

The best part about this course is the Data Structure and Algorithm subject, a compulsory subject. Here are a few pros and cons of this program that will give you a general idea

Pros

  • IISc has some of the highest qualified professors who deliver such interesting lectures that you will start falling in love with the course. Their arguments of proof are very interesting and can be.
  • You will be interacting and having healthy discussions with geniuses from all over the country.

Cons

  • Sometimes you will find the lectures uninteresting and even fail to connect the dots of what is being taught.
  • There will be times when you will start regretting your decision if taking this course instead of CSA.

In reality, the course in itself isn’t flawed but our mid-sets are. These top institutes actually challenge our way of thinking which initially seems challenging but you later realize that it made you stand out in the crowd. The future prospects are great and trust me if you maintain a good CGPA, you will be placed exceptionally well.

What are your reviews about NIT Agartala?

TD
Tezal Dahiya Posted On : September 18th, 2023

Based on the experience of a friend here are some points regarding NIT Agartala

  • Honestly, NIT Agartala is not at par with the standard of the Institute of National Importance. The administration and faculties do not give students access to the facilities.
  • Most of the faculties have no teaching abilities , and there is a huge communication gap between students and professors.
  • Students are not allowed to do projects from the second year and it's also very hard to get a good CGPA.
  • Only the CSE and ECE departments have modern infrastructure and the rest of the departments are not taken care of. There is also bias in how students of different branches are treated.
  • The hostel facilities of the institute are excellent and the buildings are beautifully designed. However, students are restricted from bringing basic electrical equipment to boil milk, water, and heat Maggie.
  • The tender of the mess food always goes to the same company and students constantly lodge complaints regarding the quality of the food.
  • The institute has a 75% attendance policy that many find illogical and rigid.

Overall, NIT Agartala will give you a lot of good memories and friends but is still lacking on the academic front.

How much stipend does in fellowship in CMC Vellore?

A
Admin Posted On : May 3rd, 2024

At present, the fellowship stipend at CMC Vellore is INR 59,000After PF deduction, the in-hand amount received is INR 53,900. In addition to the monetary benefit, the fellows receive other benefits as well.

Accommodation

  • You will get a shared accommodation in CMC Annex, Sathuvachari if you are unmarried. A single accommodation is given to married fellows.
  • The room has 2 beds, 1 bucket, 1 mug, 1 fan, 1 mirror, an attached washroom and a geyser.
  • The Problem: Accommodation is not free of cost. The accommodations are not within the campus.

Study Material and Software: The fellows get access to study material and software, but on a paid basis. For this, they are charged INR 900 monthly, and this amount is deducted from their stipend.

Parking: For a monthly pass of INR 300, the fellows can access the common parking facility opposite the jubilee gate.

These are the perks (and disadvantages) of joining CMC Vellore for fellowship. I would recommend you compare the conditions with other premium medical institutions before choosing CMC Vellore for your fellowship.

How good is Manipal Institute of Technology for engineering?

AG
Alka Gupta Posted On : September 8th, 2023
Studied at Manipal Institute Of Technology

MIT is a premier engineering college and a preferred choice of many engineering colleges. A close friend of mine shared his experience of how his perspective regarding MIT completely changed after 2 years of joining the institute.

During the initial 2 years, he spent the worst time of his life regretting his decision. However, in the third year, he started interacting with his peers and found out that everyone has a niche, a hobby they are passionate about. This struck a chord within him. He spent the 4th year compensating for his lost time and completely transformed himself.

The academic environment is like most other engineering colleges. Most of the faculties are interested in teaching and you will have to put extra effort into learning. You have to be interactive during lectures and make the professors feel that you are genuinely interested in the subject. There are many good professors too who are very keen to teach you and guide you. However, make sure you are not choosing a branch you are not interested in as this may not only make you regret joining MIT but also affect your career largely.

Ultimately, college just gives you the wings to fly Building yourself, and your personality and gaining knowledge depends on you alone!
