What was your profile for the IIM Udaipur interview?

PM
Pramod Marapalli Posted On : January 17th, 2023
Studied at Indian Institute of Management Raipur

My sister recently graduated from IIM Udaipur. Her interview at IIM Udaipur was one to remember. Her profile looked like this

Class 10th marks: 93%

Class 12th marks: 82%

Graduation: BSc Agriculture 81%

CAT: 95 percentile

Internships: 20 weeks of Rural Agricultural Work experience, 2 modules of Experiential Learning Programme-Food processing & Mushroom Cultivation

Hobbies: Reading and Painting

Shortcomings: One major shortcoming in her profile was the one year gap she took post 12th to prepare for her Medical Entrance Exam.

Some points of inference from her profile are

  • Your past academics matter but not more than your CAT percentile
  • You can get admission despite being a fresher
  • You need to be confident while delivering your answers
  • In case of a gap, you should have a convincing answer to it
  • Gain maximum exposure through internships

So even someone with an average profile can get a converted call!

Sheetal Gaur Posted On : September 20th, 2023
Studied at NIT Srinagar (2020)

I am a student of NIT Srinagar. Here are some things you should know about my college.

Like all other NITs, even NIT Srinagar is filled with talented and aspirational students, most of whom are from middle-class background. They work hard towards academic excellence.

NIT Srinagar will expose you to a variety of ideas. Over here, you will experience a different socio-cultural setup. This will open your mindset, and prepare you for a better professional life. Though it is not situated at some prime location, the college will offer you ample opportunities for growth and development.

The campus and surrounding areas are beautiful, and there’s a lot to explore. Placement-wise, CSE is the best course to opt for. CSE/IT has a good placement record.

Overall, NIT Srinagar is a one-of-a-kind experience that you can definitely consider for your higher studies.

What is life like in VMMC?

sd
saptarshi dutta Posted On : September 25th, 2023

This is an important question for medical aspirants.

As I joined VMMC, I had the same question in mind. After spending some time at this institution, I realized that it is a bittersweet experience. You’ll attend classes regularly, from 8 in the morning to 4 in the evening. On top of that, there are 2 hours of lab, and alternate tests. It does get exhausting after a while.

In comparison to other DU medical colleges, the study load is not much. You will also get the advantage of an internal PG quota. VMMC is close to most of the markets- CP, Lajpat Nagar, Sarojini Nagar, etc. Also, there are affordable hangout places nearby.

So, you will experience both good and challenging moments at VMMC. You’ll learn a lot from this institution, and grow into a skilled medical professional.

Do Thapar University students think they are inferior to IITians and NITians?

NS
Nidhi Sen Posted On : August 7th, 2023
B.Tech from Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (2019)

Honestly, Thapar University students do have an inferiority complex with IITians and NITians at least in terms of education.

My brother is in Thapar University and has friends in top IITs. He says that their intellect and talents are incomparable to even the toppers in his batch. IITs accept the best students only so most of his friends got 300s rank in Advanced and 100s rank in Mains.

It’s not just their academic profiles, but these IITians are much more hardworking and determined than any of his batchmates in Thapar. My brother feels that students making it to the top IITs deserve the hype they get and are without any doubt superior to any Thapar student.

So, yes Thapar students do feel they are inferior to IITians and NITians and their feelings are justified because they cannot match the level of IITians.

Will Heritage Institute of Technology Kolkata refund me the fees if I take admission in another college in SPOT counselling of WBJEE 2021?

MB
Malabika Bhowmick Posted On : September 13th, 2021
Studied at Heritage Institute of Technology,Kolkata

Yes, you will get a refund. However, you will not get the total amount. As by then you would have attended 9-10 classes in Heritage Institute of Technology, the institute will calculate that and hence deduct about 10-15% of the total fees. And the remaining amount will be refunded by the authority. But, it is important to know that this process is a little time-consuming. The authorities will take about 10-15 days to complete the refund process.

One of my friends got admission to IEM Kolkata and after getting Kalyani in Spot round, he left IEM. He had gone through the whole refund process. The fee he paid was about INR 80 Thousand. He got a refund of about INR 69 Thousand. So, there is no such risk. You will surely get your fee refunded if you choose to leave this college.

Which is best CSE in vasavi college of engineering or chemical engineering in IIT TIRUPATHI?

Sapna Malik updated Posted On : August 18th, 2023

Whenever you are confused between two branches in two different institutes, always prioritize the branch and your inclination towards the same. Institutes do matter but not more than the branch. Both branches are diverse and have different applications. Comparing them would do you no good so it’s best to find out about your interests.

The institute, however, does play a certain role in shaping your career. Aspects like infrastructure, faculty, location, and placements scenario should always be considered. That being said, IITs have the best brand value and enjoy high credibility in the foreign market too. Moreover, their academic environment is multifaceted, helping you grow as a person. The top-notch faculty is another reason to prefer IITs over other institutes.

As far as placements are concerned, they are directly proportional to your hard work, talents, and skills. However, some big companies give preference to IIT and NIT students more than other colleges. So, unless you have an interest in CSE, it’s better to choose IIT Tirupati.
