The IIT Patna hostel rooms are really good and feels like a home away from home. In addition to study, hostel life here is full of exciting activities. The IITP hostels have a very secure and welcoming atmosphere. The people in the community are really helpful and kind.
The eight-story boys' hostel building is divided up into four blocks, A, B, C, and D. All 912 of the rooms include plenty of segments, a balcony, a window, and a cabinet. The hostel includes a gym and two common areas for socialising and extracurricular activities.
The girl's hostel consists of two blocks, A and B, and is a five-storey building. There are 108 rooms in total, each of which is large, equipped with two cupboards and a window. It has two separate lifts and on every alternate floor are laundry facilities and water coolers.
IIT Ropar hostel rooms are facilitated with indoor recreation and games. There are seven hostels: Beas, Satluj, Brahmaputra Boys, Chenab Hostels for boys and Raavi, Brahmaputra Girls, and T6 Hostels for girls inside the IIT Ropar campus. The total strength of the hostels is approximately 3000 students. All the hostels of the IIT Ropar campus are well-equipped with water coolers and RO systems, and also a few washing machine facilities. IIT Ropar hostel campus has four shops catering to the residents' basic needs. Each hostel of the IIT Ropar has a warden, who guides the students to manage the affairs of the hostels.

The hostel fee at IIT Roorkee is around INR 15,000 per semester for male and female students. This charge consists of INR 10,000 as accommodation cost and INR 5,000 as electricity cost. This is the hostel fee for unmarried students, married students have a different fee structure for the IITR hostel facility.

Out of the 14 hostels at IIT Guwahati, 2 are Girls’ Hostels and 11 are Boys’ Hostels. IIT Guwahati also has 1 separate hostel for married Phd. students. This hostel has 170 rooms.
The hostels at IIT Guwahati not only provide a proper learning atmosphere, but they also offer recreational facilities like a common/TV room, sports facilities, indoor games facilities (chess, carom, table tennis, etc.) so that the students can enjoy, play games and spend some leisure time.
IITG has several libraries, and Lakshminath Bezbaroa Central Library is the main library. This library is a 4-storey fully air-conditioned building with a high speed WLAN facility.

IIT Kanpur offers a decent hostel facility for its students. There is a separate hostel facility for male and female students of IIT Kanpur, but the hostel fee is same for both the genders.
The total hostel fee at IIT Kanpur is INR 15,390 per semester. Out of the total fee, INR 1,250 is the hostel seat rent, INR 25 is the water charge, and INR 14,110 is the mess establishment charge. The hostel and mess registration is done online.

IIT (ISM) Dhanbad has decent hostels which offer a comfortable living environment for students. The institution has separate hostels for males and females. These hostels have all the basic amenities required by students.
There are a total of 9 hostels at IIT Dhanbad. Each of these buildings are named after a mineral or a metal such as the Amber Hostel, Diamond Hostel, Topaz Hostel, Emerald Hostel, etc. These hostels have 24 hour wi-fi facility, and all hostel rooms are air conditioned.
The hostel rooms are equipped with basic facilities like a single bed with a mattress, a bedside table, a study table, an almirah with a mirror, a revolving chair and a visitor's chair. The rooms are usually two-seater, and their size varies from one hostel to another. Common facilities such as washrooms with geysers, 24×7 water facility, a well organised cleaning staff for hygiene and cleanliness are also available.
A fire extinguisher, Aqua guard water purifiers, a washing machine, a refrigerator and a projector are also available in each hostel. The hostels offer various recreation facilities like TVs, indoor games, and outdoor sports facilities. The mess food is quite good, and the hostels are under constant CCTV surveillance. Security guards are present at the entrance, and outsider entry is strictly prohibited inside the hostels.

The hostel buildings are a bit old, but overall IIT ISM Dhanbad offers good residential facilities to its students.
