Everyone has different criteria and experiences and if you ask me, Northeastern was not that great an experience because it was a private school and for me money was an important factor. If you consider their rankings, it is obviously better ranked than University of Colorado which ranks at 103rd place while NEU ranks at 49th place in the national universities.

Northeastern University

Northeastern University offers rigorous academic learning and continuous opportunities for the students. It received 62,000 applications to fill out mere 2800 seats during 2018 and 2019 which means you’ll find a lot of competition here. It also has a great reputation as an innovative experiential university and it also has a co-op program. You’ll gain a lot of theoretical knowledge as well as practical experience here. It has abundant resources you can utilize.

University of Colorado 

You can definitely consider this because of easier admissions- it has an acceptance rate of 78% and an early acceptance rate of 94.7%. You’ll also have 43.8% of its classes with less than 20 students.

It also offers need based financial aid to 33% of its undergraduate students and the scholarship or grant award ranges from 3000-15,000 USD.

However, that may not really help you in making this decision alone. To choose a college, you will really have to dig up information related to your classes of interest, what experience you are looking for, or which college has a better scope for you to land a high paying job in return of your money. You should decide after evaluating different options and choose the college that is going to help you deliver the result you want to achieve.

This totally depends upon your interest in the subject. You should give preference to the subject rather than a degree from college because your subject will shape your future.

The school of water resources is one of the pioneer centers for education and training in water quality and quantity management. There is an advanced research water quality lab in IIT Kharagpur. It is an old IIT and will provide more opportunities for higher studies in foreign universities, people also go to foreign universities from IIT Bhubaneswar but opportunities in IIT KGP will be more.

The water resources have limited scope considering the Indian employment scenario. If you are giving preference to the subject then join IIT Bhubaneswar. If your preference is not the subject then join IIT KGP because exposure and opportunities will be more in IIT KGP. A student planning for Ph.D. after M-tech will have much better scopes in IIT KGP than IIT Bhubaneswar.

It is difficult to compare PGDM Core or MMS Core at KJ Somaiya. However, from the placement point of view, there is no difference as both the courses have common placements.

PGDM Core:

• At KJ Somaiya Institute of Management, students who enroll for the PGDM core program are open to a flexible option of adding or changing their subjects as per their interest as the management is very accommodating if students can provide a valid reason for the change.

• The curriculum is updated with the industry trends and the institute organizes multiple fests, workshops, and extra-curricular activities to ensure that students get the most out of their educational experience.

• Students can choose from a range of specialized courses in International Business, Financial Services, Marketing Communication, and Retail Management.

• Most of the students have a minimum of 2 to 3 years of work experience and come from all across the country, providing for a diverse and multi-cultural environment. Students receive a diploma degree in management at the end of the program which is equivalent to an MBA degree.

MMS Core:

• The MMS degree program on the other hand has core management modules. Since the course structure has now become autonomous, the changes and updates in the curriculum are done as per the house faculty. In case of any additions or removal of subjects or modules, the institute will be fully in charge of it, without having to seek permission from the university.

• The majority of the students are locals with more than 50% of Gujarati students and freshers as part of the batch.

• At the end of the program, students receive an MBA degree.

While the placements and companies that visit are the same for both the courses, students can choose the course based on what they are expecting out of an MBA program.

Both the colleges are best in providing quality education. The latest ranking of the IIEST is 19. Whereas, BITS, Goa is placed in the top 100. However, one should not judge the colleges based on rankings and branding. Here is more about each college in detail.

IIEST, Shibpur-

• The college has good placement records. The highest and average salary of the students is 39.12 LPA and 9 LPA respectively.

• Top companies visiting the campus are Snapdeal, Wipro, Intel, Infosys, Google, Microsoft, Cognizant, Foster Wheeler, Hindustan, Hyundai Motors, Accenture, Capgemini, etc.

Faculty and Other Facilities:

• The faculty at this college hold the highest degrees in their respective fields. Also, most of the professors are awarded several honors.

• The facilities at the college include sports facilities, wifi, hospitals, labs, library, hostels, cafes, etc.

• The library has over 200,000 books and is one of the oldest libraries.

BITS-Pilani, Goa-

Admissions & Fee:

• The college offers several programs under B.E, M.Sc, M.E, and Ph.D. It accepts students based on the GATE and BITSAT entrance exam performances.

• The annual fee for BE students is 3.99 lakhs.

Placements:

• The placement rate is 100%. The highest and average salaries of the students are 1.2 crore and 5 lakhs.

• Each year several companies visit the campus and recruit 100s of students.

• Some of the top companies visiting the campus are Oracle, Adobe, Amazon, Gen pact, IBM, Capgemini, eBay, Aditya Birla, Facebook, HDFC, Google, etc.

Faculty and Other Facilities:

• The campus has the best faculty with the utmost facilities.

• The facilities offered by the college are gyms, medical, library, games, wi-fi, stationery, bakery, post office, etc.

This is all about the IIEST and BITS-Pilani, Goa. Both offer wonderful careers with the best faculty. However, it depends on the individual to choose the college that best suits them based on several aspects.

Both the universities are best in their aspects. Karnavati university has received several awards such as the Asia Education Summit Awards in 2017 and The Best Education Group by the United World Group of Institutions. Whereas, NAAC has credited PDPU with A Grade and 3.39 out of 4.0.

However, one should not decide the best college based on the awards and gradings alone. So, here are the details about admissions, facilities, scholarships, placements, etc.

Karnavati University-

Admissions:

Faculty and facilities:

• There are over 218 faculty members. Like Karnavati University, the faculty members of PDPU also hold the highest degrees in their respective fields.

• It also organizes several workshops and lectures for the students.

• The facilities of the college include high-tech labs, libraries, gyms, cafeterias, wifi, dining halls, hostels, etc.

• The library comprises over 57,550 books, 13100 ebooks, 150 journals, etc.

Placements:

• The highest salary of the students is 19.20 LPA by 11 B.Tech students.

• Companies visiting the campus are Honeywell, L&T, Technology services, Infosys, Reliance, Wipro, Shell, Byjus, Torrent Power, Milacron India, KPMG, Accenture, Flipkart, Jubilant Life Sciences, etc.

This is all about both colleges. We cannot judge the best college. Because it all depends upon the individual choice. So, choose your best college based on your priorities and interests.

KJ Somaiya has a total of three campuses out of which KJ Somaiya College of Science, Arts & Commerce is the best for a degree in BMS. While both the given institutes are prestigious and well-known in Mumbai, it is preferable to choose an institute that is not autonomous for your field of study.

Comparison - SIES Vs KJ Somaiya:

• Comparing the two institutes based on important factors, SIES and KJ Somaiya are both at par when it comes to educational amenities.

• Both offer a well-structured program in BMS while having multiple open electives as part of their module to choose from.

• KJ Somaiya has a larger campus with modern infrastructure, it is considered better than that of SIES.

• SIES on the other hand offers a higher number of extra-curricular activities and a more developed learning experience.

The placement statistics for both the given institutions are tabulated below.

Both the institutes offer decent placement facilities, well-experienced faculty members, and a structured program for BMS.

While either of the institutes will make for a good experience, students can make their choice based on factors such as better campus, placements, time of commuting, and fee structure.

Both colleges have a good reputation but which is a better option that depends upon a number of factors. CGC Landran is ranked in 210-250 band by NIRF 2020 whereas DAVIET is ranked 100 by India Today.

Given below is a brief overview of the two colleges.

DAVIET fee structure is lower than CGC Landran. DAVIET has an average annual fee of Rs. 70,000 whereas CGC Landran has an average annual fee of Rs.96,000.

Scholarships:

• CGC Landran offers merit scholarships, merit-means scholarships, scholarships for differently-abled students, etc.

• DAVIET offers Post Matric Scholarships to eligible candidates from the reserved category as per the Punjab Govt/IKG PTU norm.

Placement:

CGC Landran has better placement (almost 100%) in IT/CSE department as compared to DAVIET Jalandhar and for core streams like Mechanical, Electrical etc both are equally good. On the other hand, DAVIET has a lower placement percentage but has a higher average salary as DAVIET does not allow mass recruiters which offer less than 3 LPA packages.

• Every year top companies like Samsung, IBM, Microsoft, Dell etc visit both the campuses.

• In terms of placement percentage, CGC Landran has led with 100% placement compared to DAVIET Jalandhar which has 85% placement.

• The average package of both the colleges is the same 3.5 LPA.

• The highest package of CGC Landran is 35 LPA whereas the highest package of DAVIET Jalandhar is only 10 LPA. As CGC is a group of institutions, it has advantages over the highest package data.

So, the choice of college purely depends on one’s priority. Placement wise CGC Landran has an edge over DAVIET but if you consider fee structure and campus location or exposure then DAVIET is better. DAVIET is located in Jalandhar city and hence has location advantage and better connectivity than CGC Landran. Academically both are equally good colleges and their average placement is similar. DAVIET has comparatively a smaller number of placements but quality placements and CGC has more placements from mass recruiters.
