XIME Bangalore is ranked 56 for MBA by India Today and XISS Ranchi is ranked 76 for the same by NIRF 2020. XIME Bangalore and XISS Ranchi offer PGDM courses in Management.

• Xavier Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship Bangalore offers PGDM and Ph.D. programs.

• Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) is a two-year course having specializations in Marketing, General Management, Human Resource, Finance, IT and Analytics, Operations.

Admission:

• The students having graduate degrees with 50% and above marks are eligible for admission.

• An entrance test score of 75% and above is required in CAT/XAT/GMAT/MAT/ATMA/CMAT.

• Applicants having a Master's degree in management or equivalent with a minimum of 55% marks are eligible for admission in Ph.D.. The candidates need to be qualified for the UGC/CSIR(JRF) Fellowship.

• The admission procedure includes filling out an online application form from the official website with an application fee of INR 1250. Applicants are selected on the basis of entrance test, group discussion, and personal interview.

Admission:

• Graduate students with above 50% marks in any streams are eligible to apply to this institution.

• The performance in the CAT/CMAT/XAT plays an important role in the selection.

• The applicants are selected on the performance and the entrance exam, group discussion, and personal interview.

The grand total fees are around 10 lacs.

Facilities:

Institute provides various facilities including Library, Hostels, WiFi, Labs, etc.

Placements:

• The highest salary offered is 14 LPA and the average salary offered is 6 LPA.

• The top recruiters include Tata, ICICI, HDFC Mutual fund, Mahindra Finance.

The grand total fees of the course are somehow similar. XIME Bangalore has higher average placement stats but on the other hand, XISS provides better industry exposure to students.

PES(People Education Society) and GITAM(Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management) is one of the oldest engineering colleges in India. These colleges outshine each other in all fields whether it is academics, placement, hostel facilities. According to NIRF ranking, 2020 GITAM and PES stands at 71st position and 149th rank respectively.

Both the colleges offer Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Doctorate courses. But, GITAM offers some additional courses like management and law. Here is some of the important information about the two institutes.

Admission:

• For admission into GITAM, students need to appear for the GAT exam for BTech, GSAT for Science, and GLAT for the law courses. Eligibility is 10+2 with 60% aggregate in science stream. The application fee is INR 800.

• For admission into regular courses at PES University, students need to appear for the PESSAT/CET exam. Eligibility is 10+2 with 45% aggregate in the science stream. The application fee is INR 1050.

• GITAM has a total of 2300 seats and PES has 1500 seats.

Faculty:

Both the colleges have experienced faculties guiding them during their course of study whether it is research and development, academics, placement activities. Most of them are Ph.D. holders and are working on many government-funded projects.

Facilities:

• PES University is spread over a lush 25 acres, which include a central library, 24*7 medical center, cafeteria, hostels, and stationery shop.

• GITAM has more than one campus and offers home-like space to its students whether it is a mess or well-ventilated hostel rooms. The hostel has a total of 2300 seats.

Course fees:

• Both colleges have designed the fee structure according to students' academics and facilities provided. PES has a higher fee structure compared to GITAM.

• BTech GITAM charges INR 2.42 lakh per year and PES INR 3.3 lakhs per year.

Placement:

• In the recent placement activity, a total of 300 companies visited GITAM for the drive. TCS was the major recruiter by choosing 755 engineering students. A total of 1921 students were selected from on-campus placement.

• The highest package offered at PES University was INR 48 LPA, and the median salary was INR 7 LPA. More than 50 companies visited the colleges for the placement drive.

Scholarships for various categories are provided by both the universities. Students can choose any of the ones depending on their preferences. PES and GITAM are among the reputed colleges in India which is evident from its national rankings.

St Joseph’s College of Engineering ranks 11th in Chennai by NIRF Ranking 2020 and has some of the best supportive faculties. Over the years, the college has seen a rise of 17% placement offers and a jump of 50% in the average package. 

RMK Engineering College ranks 30th in Tamil Nadu by NIRF 2020. The institute provides students with enough placements of 70-99%. Many of the companies offer internships and projects to the students.

Admission process:-

St Joseph’s College of Engineering

• The admissions in the UG level courses are made through Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA). 
• The total number of intake is 60 per department. 
• The fees required is INR 60,000.
• The cutoff required is in the range of 1225-9849.

RMK Engineering College:-

• The candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination with 50% marks from a recognized board with physics, chemistry, and maths.
• A valid score of TNEA with a cutoff range of 1476-9809 is required.
• The total seats allocated is 60.
• The total fees required is INR 55,000.

Placements:-

Many of the students of St Joseph's College of Engineering got placed in many core companies. Around 2700 students got the job placements in 2019.

RMK College provides good placement opportunities and nearly 200 companies visit the campus.

Faculty

There are almost 60 faculty members in all the colleges with each of them having a PhD degree in their respective fields. They always maintain a cordial and supportive relationship with the students.

Both these colleges have excellent infrastructure, well-developed classrooms with projectors, and supportive faculties. The colleges ensure world-class food facilities for its students and staff members. The placement opportunities are also excellent where Amazon, Infosys, Wipro are the prime recruiters.

Bharati Vidyapeeth university holds 17th rank among universities in India by Times, 2020. Admissions are based on two things: Entrance Test conducted by university and the results of national level exams like JEE and NEET. The placement rate of this university is also good. 

Bharati Vidyapeeth medical college and hospital, Sangli is a part of Bharati Vidyapeeth University, Pune. Admission mostly depends on the rank of the NEET exam.

Admission process

• The admission process is wholly online with an application fee of 1,700 INR. 
• Admissions are based on entrance tests known as MHT CET and national levels exams like NEET and JEE according to the courses followed by counseling. 
• With this students should also have at least 50% in 10+2. There is a 5% relaxation of SC and ST students. 

Placements

• The placements of both universities are equally good. 
• The average salary package offered to students of Pune is of 3.80 lakhs and For Sangli, it is of 5 lakhs. 
• The highest salary package of both the Institutes is up to 15-20 lakhs. 

The infrastructure of both campuses is equally good and eco-friendly. Good classrooms, spacious library, labs, gym, bank all are available. The hostel facilities are also very good. The faculty of the university is very helpful and well-qualified in their particular fields.

As the question is specific about the CSE branch, Acharya Institute of Technology ( AIT ) would be a better option compared to CMR University in regard to placements. AIT was established a lot earlier than CMR University and functions as an autonomous body, while AIT is affiliated to VTU and ACITE norms.

Affiliation:

• Being a newly established and Autonomous institute CMR wouldn’t compete against AIT when it comes to placements and campus opportunities.

• AIT is not the only college with VTU affiliation, but also the Dayanand Sagar Academy of Technology and Management (DSTAM). What makes DSTAM standout among these three is the number of placements it offers each year. With consistent placement records ever since its establishment, DSTAM has grown a lot during the past few years in terms of its reputation.

Admission:

• To be eligible for admission to Acharya Institute of Technology, one must appear in CET conducted by the Institute. The final selection will be based on the marks obtained in the entrance examination.

• Dayanand Sagar also conducts a Common Entrance Test for admission in B.E. programs. Students must have obtained at least 45% marks in their intermediate examination with PCM.

Placements:

• The average package of AIT would hover around 3.2 LPA where DSTAM would go up to 3.5- 4 LPA.

• Many top IT companies and few product-based software companies visit the DSTAM campus for recruitments each year.

• Pre-final year students of the colleges receive a lot of support from Alumni network inform of internship and job offers in their startups.

Fee Structure:

• Speaking of affordability both CMR and DSTAM cots much less than AIT, the former being just around 1 lakh per year, and the later is nearly 3 lakh per year.

• The fee need to be paid for AIT for the four-year degree is almost 12 lakhs.

We can say that both AIT and DSTAM would be good and compelling options to opt for when looking for computer science admission. To add further the campus of DSTAM is right in the heart of the city.

So, to conclude if placements are of high priority ( which of course should be for CSE ), then Dayanand Sagar is a clear choice, but if the fee structure doesn’t match your comfort then AIT should be the immediate choice.

CSE has been at the top and has become the branch that has ruled over core branches for more than a decade now. Even though CSE course works are given specific modifications by each college separately, though the major outline of the course work is still quite similar.

IIT Bombay has explicitly designed the course for CSE to provide students more in-depth knowledge about algorithms by introducing subjects such as Discrete Structures, Data Analysis and Interpretation, and Introduction to Electrical and Electronics Circuits. These subjects are mainly introduced to help students develop skill sets required to understand how a machine works and to give a deeper understanding of how to analyze data and structure. These particular subjects are introduced prior to Coding so that it would enhance their understanding which directly relates to a better understanding of Algorithms.

Whereas the course works of IIT BHU involve subjects such as Probability and Statistics, Engineering Mechanics, and Discrete Math. Though, these subjects are important but not as challenging as proposed by IIT-Bombay. Subjects such as Algorithms, Operating Systems and Artificial Intelligence are introduced by IIT BHU in the 4th Semester, and in comparison to IIT-B, it can be said that CSE course work of IIT BHU provides students a slow start.

KLE Technological University, also known as Bhoomaraddi College of Engineering & Technology is a private university recognized by UGC and AICTE. NIRF 2020 has ranked the institute 151 overall.

K.L.S Gogte Institute of Technology is an autonomous affiliated Indian engineering college in Belgaum, Karnataka. It has been bestowed with the Excellent Technical Education Institute in Karnataka award at the August 9, 2014, National Karnataka Education Summit. It is also ranked 19 for Architecture by India Today 2020.

Admission:

KLE Technological University-

• In order to be eligible for admission to B.Arch at KLE Technological University students are required to have a minimum of 50% marks in 10+2 with Mathematics and English as compulsory subjects.

• For admission into B. Arch, students will have to appear for the NATA entrance test and secure at least 40% marks.

KLS GIT Belgaum-

• For BArch, candidates must pass in 2nd PUC or 12th or equivalent with Mathematics as a subject and obtain a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.

• BArch admission is done through NATA.

Teaching-Learning Process:

• In the KLS Gogte Institute of Technology, study tours to places of architectural significance in India are conducted during the 3rd and 5th semester holidays. The 7th semester Urban Insert project focuses on the role of context in the shape and function of developed and unbuilt spaces in urban areas.

• KLE Tech provides highly qualified and professional faculty who constantly aspire to foster skills, foster creativity, and thus ensure that high-caliber architects are produced by the Institution.

Placement: At KLE Tech around 70% of the students get placed each year. Whereas the placement average at KLS GIT is 80%.

Top recruiting companies at KLE Tech are Accenture, Dalmia cement, iGATE, Infosys, etc. Some of the major recruiters at KLS GIT are Asian Paints, Bosch Ltd, Cipla, Global Edge, Aricent, etc.

Both departments have their own perks and demerits. However, it is recommended that students go with their choice of interest.
