Below is some of the general information regarding the hostels and facilities (like laundry, and air coolers) at MNNIT Allahabad for the first year and onwards:

Hostels:

  • MNNIT Allahabad has separate hostels for boys and girls, with a total of 11 hostels for boys and 3 hostels for girls.
  • First-year students are usually allotted rooms in the newer hostels, such as Halls 1, 2, and 3 for boys, and Halls 9 and 10 for girls.
  • From the second year onwards, students may have the option to choose their hostel based on availability and preferences.
  • The hostels are equipped with basic amenities such as beds, study tables, chairs, and cupboards.
  • Each hostel has a mess facility that provides breakfast, lunch, and dinner to the students. The quality of food may vary from hostel to hostel.
  • There are common rooms in each hostel where students can relax, watch TV, or play indoor games.

Facilities:

  • Most hostels have laundry facilities where students can wash their clothes. However, students may need to pay a nominal fee for using the washing machines.
  • Air coolers are provided in most hostels, but air conditioners are usually not provided.
  • The campus has a well-equipped gymnasium where students can work out and stay fit.
  • There is a central library on the campus that houses a large collection of books, journals, and other reference material.

How is IMT Ghaziabad's hostel life?

NP
Nirmalya Pal Posted On : January 25th, 2023
Former Assistant Manager at Shahi Exports Pvt Ltd (2015–2018)

Based on my friends' experience, IMT Ghaziabad’s hostel life is pretty decent. IMT Ghaziabad has two hostels, one at the main campus, the other 3 km away from the main campus. The main campus hostel is mainly occupied by boys and girls of the second year while the other hostel mainly has boys of the first year. Such a mixed setup facilitates team projects and assignments and also makes you ready for the corporate world.

The major highlight of IMT Ghaziabad hostel life are the many fests and events held regularly. They help keep the hostel alive and dynamic.

The food served at IMT Ghaziabad's hostel mess is one of the best you can get. The breakfast is elaborate with everything like aloo parathas, mooli parathas, bread omelet, poha and even tea. The lunch and dinner menu is also no less and the evening snacks are excellent. A canteen and coffee vendor machine operates from 9-4.

IMT Ghaziabad boasts of a very massive and well built auditorium which is where most of the competitions of North B Schools are held. It’s the pride of the institution.

So the hostel life at IMT Ghaziabad is one you will miss forever.

How is the hostel of Lady Brabourne College Kolkata?

SS
Sayanti Shome Posted On : December 28th, 2021
B.A English Literature, Lady Brabourne College (2013)

The hostels at Lady Brabourne College, (LBC) Kolkata are very basic and usual. The building is very old with corridors having fewer lights making it difficult to walk around.

  • The Hostel fees are very less. About INR 1500-2000 per month including food and lodging.
  • The whole campus is wifi enabled, which at times gets a bit slower than usual due to heavy traffic.
  • LBC hostels are very secured and students here can stay peacefully without facing any major inconveniences.
  • In the first year you have to stay in a dorm along with 10-15 other students.
  • In the second year you get to share your room with one other student.
  • And finally in the third year, you will probably get a single occupancy room.
  • There are strict rules which are to be followed by the students. The hostel timings should be taken seriously.
  • The food offered here will take some time to get adjusted, but overall it is healthy.
  • If you do not have a required percentage in your exams, you will not be allowed to stay in the hostel from the following year.

Many students opt to stay in the hostel but if you want an alternative you can choose to stay as a paying guest. There are many places nearby. The people here are very cooperative and overall it is a good college, so there will not be many problems.

How is the food and hostel facility at IIM Kozhikode?

Satyam Purwar Posted On : January 29th, 2024

Having taught at multiple Indian management colleges in the past, I can say for sure that IIM Kozhikode has some of the most well maintained hostel rooms. ISB is at par with IIM Kozhikode in this respect.

The hostel rooms at Kozhikode have balconies with a nice view. The surroundings are clean and green. The washrooms, even the common ones, are in great condition. The newer hostels offer rooms with attached washrooms. The rooms are cleaned every day, and the furniture is in good shape.

The mess offers decent food with limited options. After a while, the mess food becomes monotonous and boring. But eateries are easily available outside the campus. The hostels have a night canteen facility which offers convenient access to snacks at late hours.

IIM Kozhikode offers good food and hostel facilities, so you need not worry in this regard.

IIT Patna: Do they provide single room accommodation in the hostels and who can get single room?

AS
Akriti Sinha Posted On : June 22nd, 2023
B.Tech Computer Science Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Patna (2021)

IT Patna does provide single-room accommodation in its hostels. However, the availability of these single rooms is limited and is usually offered to graduate students, research scholars, and faculty members.

Currently, the first-year and second-year students are allotted double occupancy rooms and students of the 3rd year get single rooms. Everyone is expected to get a single room once new hostels are constructed.

Is IIM Rohtak not giving hostel for IPM?

GS
Gurpreet Singh Posted On : February 1st, 2024

My brother is currently in IPM first year at IIM Rohtak. IPM Freshers are provided with good hostel facilities.

The large Air-conditioned four seater rooms have bunk beds in them. To be more specific, each room is composed of 2 smaller rooms that are connected through a door. There is an attached washroom for each four seater room. The design is similar to service apartments.

IIM Rohtak campus is new, so its hostel infrastructure is more modern and well developed in comparison to other similar colleges.

How is the hostel life in IIT BHU?

RS
Riddhi Sarkar Posted On : August 14th, 2020
B.Tech from Indian Institute of Technology Varanasi (2022)

Hostel life in IIT BHU is pretty wonderful. The institute has 12 hostels, and most of them are about 50-60 years old. The rooms in the old hostels are cramped, unlike the new ones, where rooms are quite spacious. Even then, the rooms are pretty much compact, as the rooms in the new hostels are three-seater. Hostel administration provides a bed, table, and chair. Cupboards are already inside the room, which is shared. In a wholly arranged room with couches, tables, and chairs, there is not much space to walk, but these hostels have very spacious corridors and lawns to make up for it. Vishwakarma Hostel corridors are so long that one will hesitate to go from one end to another. Each of the hostels is equipped with basic facilities like sufficient numbers of bathrooms and water coolers.

Apart from these, hostels have common rooms, canteens, mess, TV Room. Every hostel also has badminton courts, TT tables, lush green lawns. You will have access to high-speed internet, which is available via both Wi-Fi and LAN. The food here is much better than any other IIT. After the first year, students are allowed to keep their own vehicles like bikes and scooters inside the campus. Canteens in all hostels close before 4 AM. But if you have access to any vehicles, you can go to any place in Varanasi to eat out at any time of the day. There are not many restrictions of any type in the hostels.

Hostel staff and administration is amiable, you can reach out to them for any help you need. To sum it up, hostel life in IIT BHU is vivacious, and people make tons of cherished memories here.

How are the hostel and mess facilities at IIM Bodh Gaya?

HM
Hitanshu Malhotra Posted On : January 21st, 2023
Former Machine Learning Engineer at Accenture (company) (2014–2019)

IIM Bodh Gaya has three hostels

  1. Aryabhatta
  2. Bhaskara
  3. Hostel 3

Some major highlights of these hostels are

  • The hostels are co-Ed
  • The students are provided with single occupancy rooms
  • The hostels are regularly cleaned and therefore have a hygienic environment
  • Every room has basic stuff like a table with locker, bed, mattress, shelves along with curtains
  • The hostel also provides laundry facilities
  • 24/7 Free Wi-Fi accessibility makes it easy for the students to conduct research and indulge in online learning
  • The hostel has a common room where you can spend leisure time with your peers playing games, watching movies or news or simply chatting. It has sofas, table tennis, TV, carrom, chess, and poker.
  • Healthy freaks can go to the gym situated above the common room that is decked with facilities
  • The sports culture is highly promoted as Bodh Gaya has a basketball court, volleyball court, futsal court, football ground, and badminton court for sports enthusiasts.

Mess

Like the hostel facilities, the mess here is also very good. Every hostel has a separate mess. Food is provided according to the 4 meals per day program that includes breakfast, lunch, evening snacks, and dinner. Both non-veg and veg cuisines are available. The mess is large enough to accommodate 50-60 people at a time. Hygiene is strictly maintained and clean drinking water is provided.

So both the mess and hostel facilities at IIM Bodh Gaya are decent enough to ensure a smooth and comfortable hostel life.

Which one should I prefer PG or hostel in Miranda House?

AA
Aarti Arora Posted On : September 23rd, 2021
completed B.A. Honours in Geography from Miranda House,University of Delhi in 2020

Sadly, Miranda House does not offer hostels to everyone save a selected few. They are provided on the basis of merit. So if the chance to stay in a hostel comes your way, make the most of it.

  • The cost of living in the hostels is lower than that of living in PGs.
  • The services the hostels provide are good.
  • You will just be a few minutes away from your classes.
  • The hostels are also close to the metro station and the market.
  • However, if you don’t get a hostel, then there are a lot of PGs nearby such as Coho, Zocalo, Nestaway, etc.
  • The PG rooms are well furnished with ACs.
  • There are attached bathrooms with the facility of geysers.
  • Cooks will prepare meals for you and there are also security guards in the premises 24/7 for safety.
  • CCTV cameras are installed too.

Some PGs like Stanza Living organize events which help in the enhancement of career for making college life more interesting.

How is hostel for girls and mess food at IMT Hyderabad?

SS
Savi Sharma Posted On : July 11th, 2023

IMT Hyderabad students are provided with single occupancy rooms that come with all the basic amenities one could ask for. Some of these include

  • Study table
  • Fan
  • Cot
  • Cupboard
  • Side table

The food served in the mess is of great quality and very hygienic. Mostly South Indian food is served and a variety of vegetables are cooked on a daily basis. Non-veg food is served on certain days although the taste may be a bit average.

Overall the food is edible and the hostel facilities aren't bad either. IMT Hyderabad Hostel will give you a great experience and memories to cherish.
