How are hostels in PSIT Kanpur?
One of my friends availed hostel at PSIT Kanpur. Let me share whatever I got to know from him about the hostels.
- The hostel in PSIT Kanpur offers 4 kinds of accommodation for the students. It includes - Double Sharing AC, Double Sharing Non AC, Triple Sharing AC, and Triple Sharing Non AC.
- The best part is the centralized cooling AC which keeps the entire hostel cool.
- The rooms also have fans included which can’t be used while the AC is on. You can operate one of them at a given time.
- A desk and a cupboard are provided per occupant. The bed also has additional storage for the shoes and slippers.
- Two adjacent rooms are connected by a well-spaced and big enough balcony with cloth lines to dry the clothes.
- Services such as laundry are provided within the hostel premises with a fixed amount of clothing for tenure.
- Although Wi-Fi is not available so you have to bring a LAN wire to access the hostel internet.
- The first-year hostel is a whole separate building at a distance from the senior year hostels. It also has a separate mess which has a capacity of 1300+ students or more.
- The washrooms are cleaned and well maintained.
- The warden and the night takers are both well respected and loved among the students.
You also get two elevator services working 24*7. It can be used by anyone and has a backup facility if there’s any power failure. Thus, the hostel is well equipped for the students.
Are all/any hostel rooms at IMT Ghaziabad air conditioned?
IMT Ghaziabad batch size is huge and one campus is not sufficient to house them. So in 2012 an additional distance campus CDL was made a few km away from the main campus. Both campuses have hostels but the main campus hostels have no air conditioning at all. These hostels are occupied by both girls and boys whereas the CDL hostel is exclusively for boys. This hostel provides both air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned rooms. To avail of an air-conditioned room, you have to pay an extra fee. These rooms are for the boys only.
How is the girls hostel at VSSUT Burla?
VSSUT Burla has 3 girls' hostels, each with its pros and cons.
- Anuradha H.R: This hostel is for first-year students with 4 seater rooms. Excessive sharing may give a congested experience but it is also crucial for binding between peers. This hostel has all the basic amenities one could ask for.
- Visakha H.R: Currently it’s the hostel that accommodates 3rd year students. It’s an old hostel with not very well-maintained rooms. The best part however is the direct LAN connection for 24 hrs. This hostel also has an excellent canteen facility.
- Arundhati H.R: This is the biggest girls' hostel of VSSUT run by the government. All the facilities are run by students including the mess and common room. This hostel accommodates final-year BTech, 1st year MTech, and MSc students. As it’s recently renovated, this hostel offers the best facilities.
All the 3 hostels are in close proximity to the college and students can stay out till 7 PM. Hope the information was useful.
What kind of hostel facilities do we get at NIT Silchar?
NIT Silchar has some of the most amazing hostel facilities in India.
- The first-year students have a separate hostel with double occupancy rooms. Additionally, there is a fan, a tube light, and two LAN ports.
- Water is supplied 24/7 and electricity is supplied 23.75 hours.
- The food served in the mess is average. In the morning parathas or puris or Chola batora are served. A special meal is served on Sundays
- A separate room has facilities for indoor games. The hostel also has badminton courts and cricket/football.
- Laundry and food delivery facilities are available within the hostel. There is also a canteen in the hostel.

How is the hostel facility in Amity Gwalior?
My sister is from Amity, so I am quite aware of the situation and facilities here. The institute has two huge hostels within the premises, one of each for girls and boys.
- The accommodation of the hostel is apartment-style with suits of bedrooms that shared a common lounge and bathroom.
- Each apartment has 6 occupants and the rooms are of double occupancy. The total occupancy capacity for each hostel is 240.
- The rooms are well-ventilated and equipped with all necessary amenities, television, geysers in bathrooms, etc.
- You will be allotted a separate bed, mattress, pillow, pillow cover, sheets, almirah, study table with chair.
- The hostel has a 24/7 water and power supply.
Hostels at Amity are under CCTV severance and there are security guards to keep the environment safe.
How are the hostels at the Thiagarajar School of Management?
The hostels at the Thiagarajar School of Management are properly built and offer basic amenities to the students.
- The rooms are Wi-Fi enabled. For 1st-year students, hostel rooms are either single/double/triple sharing. Only seniors get single occupancy on a first come first serve basis.
- There is no air-conditioning which would make summers at the hostel a tad bit difficult. But the campus is filled with beautiful trees stretching over vast areas near the hostel. Students are encouraged to live in a natural atmosphere.
- You will be made to share rooms to enable first-year students to smoothly build relations with their roommates through proper communication.
- Laundry services are provided on a payment basis.

Is in campus hostel a better option than an outside PG for amity university noida?
Staying in an outside PG will be better than staying in Amity University Noida in campus hostel. The hostel rules are strict. Hostelers aren’t allowed to go outside of the campus on weekdays. If you need to go out for some reason, you need to complete a time-consuming application process. You can’t stay over at your friend’s place for any reason. Staying in PG will give you more freedom.
What do I need to bring while coming to NICMAR hostel?
You should carry a laptop or notepad with you. It is mandatory. Most of the topics in class are taught through presentations and PPTs so it is mandatory that you have a laptop.
A pair of formals is also required. You must carry atleast a pair of formals as you would be required to wear them for presentations and guest lectures.
Other than that you should carry your documents, stuff like an iron, some stationery, ethnic wear etc.
Are girls and boys allowed to stay in each other's hostel in IIM Ahmedabad?
Yes, girls and boys are allowed to stay in each other’s hostel in IIM Ahmedabad. The hostels are not common but you can visit the opposite gender hostels anytime.
This relaxation is because of group studies and assignments which require students in the same group to spend time together in a room.
What is the condition of the Anna University hostel?
Unlike the general belief, the hostels at Anna University are indeed in good condition. People spread false information regarding its conditions. Some points that support this fact are
- The hostel management has taken keen interest in maintaining the quality of the hostel.
- Separate boys and girls hostels are available with separate mess facilities also.
- Good Wi-Fi connection with restrictions on some websites help students concentrate on their studies.
- Your hostel room will be shared by 4 people so you can make friends for your lifetime.
- The food here is good but is repeated a lot and you might get a bit bored after some time.
- A TV hall has been opened for entertainment purposes. You can spend your leisure time there either watching TV or reading newspapers.
- The bathrooms are clean and proper hygiene is maintained within the hostels.
All these points made me believe that the hostels of Anna University are not as bad as people often portray them.
