Is it good to prepare previous years’ question papers for the IGNOU exams?

YM
Yajnaseni Mukherjee Posted On : October 21st, 2022
MA in English Literature & English Literature, Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU)

It would be insufficient to prepare last year's questions in order to write your answer this year.

To perform well on the exam, you must practice with at least 5 years of questions. Because there are a lot of questions in the exam. So, in order to improve your performance, try to attend to more and more questions.

One thing you should keep in mind is your writing ability. To get good grades in exams, you must have good writing skills that are clear and concise. This is an important factor in any exam, so you must work on it.

What are the lowest packages offered in top IIMs, XLRI etc.?

SS
Sanjukta Sarkar Posted On : May 14th, 2021
Studied at PGDM from Indian Institutes of Management (2016)

It is difficult to say what is the lowest salary package offered by XLRI as it is not declared officially. It is somewhat around 10 LPA. This statistic is not definite and can vary.

For IIMs the lowest CTC is lower than XLRI, because of the huge batch size. I personally know few people who got placed with a salary package of 6-7 LPA.

The tentative lowest CTC offered at different IIMs are -

IIM A, B, & C: 8-10 LPA

IIM L, I, K: 6-8 LPA

Again these are not official data and can vary.

What is the IIT Jodhpur placement for CSE?

RS
Rupali Samal Posted On : July 27th, 2023

IIT Jodhpur CSE is the highest-placed branch for both BTech and MTech programs. One of my close friends completed her BTech in CSE recently and got placed with a decent package. On having a conversation with her and other friends who have completed the same course from other IITs, I arrived at a conclusion. While the CSE placements of almost every IIT are great, what sets IIT Jodhpur apart is the job satisfaction it offers.

Usually, CS students receive high packages but end up leaving their job later because their job does not satisfy them. IIT Jodhpur has a different scenario,  the packages offered are lower than other institutes but the job satisfaction is higher. Most students end up with jobs they love and even find their batch mates and seniors in the same company thus increasing job satisfaction.

Here are the placement statistics for the CSE department of IIT Jodhpur:

Particulars

BTech CSE

MTech CSE

Placement %

96%

100%

Highest CTC

INR 53 LPA

INR 40 LPA

Average CTC

INR 23 LPA

INR 17 LPA

Median CTC

INR 22 LPA

-

IIT Jodhpur CSE Department has huge ties with industry and academia and has numerous ongoing projects. It also has collaborations with industry leaders like Microsoft, IBM, Intel, Morgan Stanley, DIRECTI, DeShaw, and Google for academics and research collaboration.

How is IIT Kharagpur unique?

DS
Deepesh Sinha Posted On : March 22nd, 2023
Dual Degree(Btech+Mtech) in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur

A few features that set IIT Kharagpur apart from other IITs are

  • It is one of the oldest IITs and is often called the mother of IITs because of its size and age.
  • It has a sprawling 2200+ lush green campus
  • It is built over a detention camp used by the British Raj to mark the triumph of Indian Technical Education
  • It has the largest student base and the most number of departments.
  • The lab of the Agricultural Department has unique facilities
  • It has free wifi facilities that can be accessed 24/7 throughout the whole campus. All Halls of residence have their own LAN ports.
  • Another highlight is its spring Fest, a cultural Fest that is the best in East India.
  • Less hectic campus life in comparison to other IITs
  • With considerably more focus on extracurriculars, there is less stress on students to achieve certain marks and thus has a relaxed atmosphere.

All these unique traits attract many Engineering aspirants.

Are all the NLUs (National Law Universities) in India good? Or is it only the top tier NLUs (Banglore, Nalsar, Kolkata, Jodhpur) worth considering?

SN
Sanchita Nayak Posted On : September 2nd, 2021
B.A. LLB. Law & Bachelor of Arts Degrees, National Law University, Mumbai (2020)

The tier-1 colleges are the best among the existing NLUs that include NLSIU Bangalore, NALSAR Hyderabad, and WBNUJS Kolkata. These colleges provide the best placement offers and internships. These colleges have expert faculty that can enhance your skills in the related fields along with the exposure of moot courts with universities like Harvard University, Yale University, and many others.

Now apart from tier-1 colleges, NLIU Bhopal, NLU Jodhpur, GNLU Gujarat are also good in terms of faculty, internships, and placement opportunities. NLU Delhi is a reputed college and has a locational advantage.

Among the new NLUs, NLU Mumbai is quite promising and maintains a consistently good record.

But other than the above-mentioned colleges, other NLUs are not that good and you will not have the exposure and internship opportunities.

I am planning to enroll in a BA English course in IGNOU. What is the procedure of the whole course and important things that I should follow?

RS
Rahul Sinha Posted On : October 19th, 2022
MA English from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) (Graduated 2012)

Opt for this course only if you are into novels and literature. Otherwise, it will be a monotonous ride. If you are planning to pursue BA English at IGNOU, you can conveniently work full time alongside. Instead of attending full-time classes, just sitting for a few will do it. Get your study material and go through it regularly. Don’t forget to apply for term-end exams. Exam applications come around March for the July exams.

You must also submit your assignment at the study centre before the last date. The questions for the assignment can be found on the IGNOU website as well as the study centre.

Before the 2nd and 3rd years consult your study centre and choose your desired course and register for it. Lastly, keep in constant touch with your study centre for regular updates.

Which gives better placement in cse, LPU or KIIT?

A
Admin Posted On : May 4th, 2024

Both KIIT and LPU are considered as top private universities for engineering. But I can only speak in favour of LPU as I have done my education at LPU.

I interacted with my friends at LPU who have done their BTech CSE. More than 500+ recruiters visit the campus for placements every year. BTech CSE placements at LPU recorded INR 42 lakhs as the highest salary package. Additionally, LPU had 110+ recruiters from top colleges like IITs, IIMs, and NITs. The highest monthly stipend for any kind of internship at LPU is around 80k.

Tanya Arora, a final year BTech CSE student secured INR 42 lakh job offer from Microsoft. Amazon also offered INR 28 lakhs package. Utkarsh secured a position at Google HQ in Silicon Valley with a package of INR 1 crore.

This I hope proves my point that LPU is better for CSE than KIIT.

What are the differences between NCWEB and SOL offered by DU Do they have different exams or the same?

AB
Akriti Banerjee Posted On : July 24th, 2023
lives in New Delhi

In order to determine the differences between NCWEB and SOL, let’s discuss the institutes on a one-to-one basis.

SOL (School of Open Learning)

  • SOL or the School for Open Learning is a University of Delhi-affiliated college.
  • Here you can freely gain knowledge through proper classes and lecturers.
  • Courses are offered in diverse fields ranging from humanities and business to social science.
  • The primary purpose of this institute is to impart education to people who wish to pursue further education while they work and those preparing for competitive exams.

NCWEB

  • This institute is specially run for women candidates who want to pursue professional courses along with regular jobs.
  • The classes are conducted only on Sundays enabling them to do career enhancement courses during weekdays.
  • However, Non-Collegiate students are forbidden from pursuing full-time degree courses.

Hope I made it clear!
