How is CSE placement in IIT ISM Dhanbad? My son's advanced rank is 907. He wants to study CSE. IIT Indore is very remote from our place in WB. He is going to IIT ISM Dhanbad. Will it be a good choice

Which IIIT is better, IIIT Surat, IIIT Bhopal, or IIIT Lucknow? Why?
As all of them are IIITs they are known to have a similar level of curriculum. However, my cousins are currently studying at IIIT Lucknow and IIIT Bhopal. Their honest opinions state that IIIT Lucknow is the best choice among all of them because of the following reasons:
- The first batch of IIIT Lucknow is placed and none of the other IIITs mentioned has witnessed a single placement season yet. Placements of IIIT Lucknow were so great which is rare for an institute participating in placements for the first time.
- The permanent campus for IIIT Lucknow is almost ready while for IIIT Bhopal and Surat, the work for construction is yet to start. My cousin is a 1st-year student of IIIT Lucknow and also the very first batch of the newly built permanent campus of IIIT Lucknow.
- The coding culture at IIIT Lucknow is the best among all the newly built IIITS.
- Seniors are extremely supportive and Workshops are being conducted by them already.
- You may face some problems due to not having enough resources as it is a new campus, but so will be the same for other new IIITS.
- And lastly, Lucknow being a metropolitan city will give you a lot of advantages, with metro being started and Campus being in the city itself.
Although quality education is common in all of these IIITs, IIIT Lucknow holds an edge over the others. The points mentioned above may prove to be minor for some of you but for many people out there, these points matter a lot and might have cleared a lot of confusion in your mind.
What is it like to study at IIT Patna?

Which is the better, college SIBM Pune or IIM Indore?
Among these, IIM Indore is the better option. Being an IIM it offers better facilities and placements. IIM Indore placements 2022 placements ended with an average CTC of INR 25.01 LPA. The highest CTC offered this year was INR 70 LPA.
IIM Indore offers excellent academics, and the faculties of the institute are best in the field. The IIM brand name certainly offers some perks in terms of getting placements, projects, and interships.

The first ‘I’ in IIIT Hyderabad stands for ‘International’. It is a private ICT Research University that was founded in 1998. The first ‘I’ in IIIT Delhi stands for ‘Indrasprastha’. It is a government institute and comes under the Delhi Government. The first ‘I’ of IIIT Allahabad stands for ‘Indian’. IIITA and IIIT Pune come under the collective of institutes that are actually the IIITs, as in, the Indian Institutes of Information Technology.
IIIT Allahabad is one of the 5 IIITs that were formed by MoE, and it has the tag ‘Institute of National Importance’. IIIT Pune is among the other 20 IIITs that were formed under the PPP (Public Private Partnership) model. It is also an Institute of National Importance.

- Being the main branch, the score generally goes to 98.66 for the COSE branch and remains similar in the subsequent rounds.
- The percentile required for COE and COSE branches is 96.66.
- The percentile cutoff for COBS is around 97.33.
Cut Off For ST, SC, And PHO (Outside Punjab)
- If you are under the ST category then for the COE branch 72-75 percentile, for the COBS branch 75 to 80 percentile, and for the ENC branch 78 to 79 percentile and 86 PCM percentile for MEE.

What are the worst things about Pune University?
I have a few friends from Pune University and here are some of the things that they complain about.
Name: First and foremost, there is the name. The name "Pune University" was well-known in India at a time, but not now. If a student walks into an interview with a degree from "Savitribai Phule Pune University," the interviewer has no idea that this is the same Pune University.
Administrative structure: With a few exceptions, being an Indian university has the same old administrative structure. Every time there is a delay in the examination results and everything else is official. The majority of the staff in all the university's offices are uncooperative.
Official website: It is extremely slow. Almost always, there is a server problem. The library's online portal never opens. Nobody will find the notice of their interest in time because the notices, events, and news section is so poorly maintained.
College campus: Despite being one of the greenest and largest campuses I've ever seen, the vastness overpowers the beauty. There are no proper directional signs. Every new student on campus often gets lost in the campus's maze of roads. If you just want a cup of tea, you'll have to walk for about 10-15 minutes.
Professors: There are very few departments where students are fortunate to have good teachers. Otherwise, the majority of teachers are not very good.
Curriculum: In comparison to other universities, the syllabus is not that good. Universities in West Bengal and Delhi, for example, have a much higher level of curriculum at the graduate and undergraduate levels. As a result, students from these areas outperform Phulites in competitive exams and interviews. In addition, the syllabus is also ill-organized.

Is it necessary to register or pay fees for 2nd year in the 1st year itself for an IGNOU programme?
You do not have to necessarily pay your fees in the first year itself. If you do, you will benefit a lot from it. So yes it’s a luxury, not a necessity.
At IGNOU, you have to pay fees for only 2 years even if you take 5 years to complete the course. IGNOU exam fees are payable every time you appear, per course basis. Keep in mind that practical and theoretical exam fees are different for the same course.
Your course has a minimum of 2 to a maximum of 5 years of eligibility. It can be convenient if you deposit your fees for the second year and then opt for the exams within the stipulated 5 years. The major benefit will be that you become eligible to appear for exams in both years.

What should be the range of rank in the KVPY to secure admission in IISER?
It’s not possible to answer this definitively as IISERs don’t make information regarding cut-off public. But entry to IISER through KVPY is easier compared to other gateways like the IISER Aptitude Test.
One of my friends was selected for KVPY SX in 2017. At the time of college choices, his options were Pune, Kolkata, TVM, Tirupati. He finally got IISER Kolkata.
According to him, if you get a KVPY fellowship, there is a good chance that you will get into an IISER. But going by the trends of the last few years, you will need a rank below 600, in order to get IISER Pune.
