I completed my degree from LPU in 2023. Talking about the holidays, the university provides students with a good number of off days throughout the semester year. Students are provided Saturdays and Sundays off with only 5 days of classes and practicals. 

At the end of the odd semester, students are given off for 10-15 days and when the even semester ends, 2 months are given off to students. Candidates can also expect holidays on major festivals like Independence Day, Republic Day and others.

Students can also apply for hostel leave when they are out of the campus through the University Management System (UMS).

When I completed my graduation, I was unsure of which college to opt for my MBA. My friend was pursuing his engineering from LPU at the time, and he told me some of the things about the university that attracted me towards LPU.

Here are some good things about LPU which have contributed to its fame-

1. Diversity- The campus is home to students from all over India, and more than 70 other countries. The diverse student crowd provided me with a lot of cultural exposure. I came to understand and respect various cultures and their associated practices. This in turn has made me more comfortable and open to working in any part of the world.

2. Infrastructure- LPU is a private university, and it spends a good amount of money in maintaining its infrastructure. The campus has every facility within itself including a Hospital, Shopping Mall, Sports Complex, Gym, etc. It is a mini city in itself.

3. Academics-

The University follows an up-to-date curriculum, which is in line with the modern industry standards. For MBA, it has tie-ups with industry leaders like KPMG, IBM, NSE, and others.

4. Famous Personality Visits to the campus-

Many renowned personalities from various fields have visited the LPU campus in the past. Some of them are- The Hon’ble Prime Minister of India- Shri Narendra Modi, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, and Ayushmann Khurrana among others. 

5. Hosting important events like ISC (Indian Science Congress)-

The huge campus and top infrastructure of LPU allows it to host important seminars and conferences. The university hosted the 106th Indian Science Congress in 2019, which was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi.

These are some things about LPU which make it shine and stand out from among other universities. 

The eligibility criteria for admission into LPU varies for every degree.

For instance, if you want admission into B.Tech at LPU, here is the minimum eligibility criteria-

1. You must score a minimum of 60% in class 12th with English, Physics and Maths as compulsory subjects.
2. You must qualify LPUNEST.

For BA admissions, you need to score passing marks in class 12th. LPUNEST is not mandatory for admissions. 

Thus, the eligibility criteria is completely different for different courses. You can visit the LPU website and search for the eligibility criteria of your particular course. 

I am assuming by droppers you mean people who left their degree at LPU in the middle. If so, then yes, there are students who do so because of various reasons.

One example of the same is my friend. She had joined B.Tech ECE in the same year that I did. But from the very first day she told me that she wasn’t interested in engineering. Moreover, hostel life was new to her, and made her overwhelmed. 

She scored very poorly in Maths, in the December exams of first year. She got a Re-appear. In the next semester, she got sick for a month and scored very poorly in her mid semester exams. 

Her parents were being updated regularly through the university’s official app. They got angry at my friend for not doing well academically. But when they reached the hostel a few days later and had a talk with her, they realized she wasn’t happy with her choice of stream.

They took her home with them. She did not attend the second semester exams, and eventually, she told me that she had gotten admission into some other course at some other college. 

Currently she is happy with her decision to pursue fashion designing. Her story made me realize how important it is to make your choices with a calm mind, and not out of peer/family pressure.

I am currently pursuing BTech in Food Technology from LPU. The university does not release the exact number of students that get enrolled every year but considering the data available online, the college has around 32,000 students pursuing various courses. The campus has students from all over the Indian states and around 40 countries. 

The university has around 1800+ international students and more than 50 lakh global LPU alumni. The university offers courses in 150+ disciplines which is the reason for such a high number of students.

LPU offers various sports facilities for its students. I am a sports enthusiast myself, and I found the sports infrastructure at LPU to be sufficient. 

Here are some of the sports facilities available at the university campus-

• Cricket Ground- The university has a decent ground for cricket.
• Athletics Track- The track has eight lanes and is 400-meter long. It is a synthetic running track and is used by sprinters, hurdlers, and intermediate runners.

• Football Fields- The university has several artificial turf football fields for football practice and matches.

• Basketball Courts- There are a number of outdoor hoops and backboard-equipped courts inside LPU campus. These are used by students for both recreational and competitive play.
• Tennis Courts- There are hard-surface tennis courts with nets and proper lighting.

These are some of the sports facilities offered at LPU. I love to play cricket in the university ground in my leisure time.

LPU is a well-known university with a diverse student community. The campus is home to over 30,000 students from various parts of India and the world. The campus environment is vibrant and multicultural. 

You need not worry as you’ll find a good number of students and faculty members from Tamil Nadu at the university campus. You’ll feel at home while at LPU, and you’ll be served your regional menu at the hostel mess.

I am a student of B.Tech CSE at LPU. So I can provide some insight into the CSE program offered at my university-

1. Faculty- The CSE faculty is decent, and consists of both good and bad teachers. 
2. Placements- Out of all the branches, CSE has the best placement figures at LPU. But the placements are not as good as advertised. Top MNCs like Google, Microsoft and Yahoo do not actually recruit from the LPU campus. 

Instead, the students work hard and clear GATE to get admission into IITs for their M.Tech. After completing their higher studies from renowned institutions, these students receive high paying job offers at top MNCs. 

But good companies do visit the campus with job offers, along with some startups. The companies that pay good packages worth more than 8 LPA select very few students from the campus (3-4 students). Such companies are Vmware for example. The rest of the students are placed in mass recruiting companies and receive packages around 2-4 LPA. You may not receive offers from a core company, but nonetheless, you will get a decent job offer if you work hard during your B.Tech course.

The main problem is the increasing number of admissions into the CSE branch. Because of this, in the coming years, job opportunities will have much more competition. 

LPU offers plenty of opportunities and exposure. Make good use of the resources, and learn coding (C,C++, JAVA) and communication skills. Doing so will open decent job opportunities for you when you graduate.

Yes, in my opinion, LPU is really good for the chemical engineering. It has a NIRF Ranking of 50 in the engineering section. LPU has aso collaborated with top companies such as Google, Cisco, Dell, etc to offer industry oriented courses. The course curriculum and structure is really helpful to gain hands on practical experience. 

LPU has one of the best placement records for the Engineering batch. Google, Microsoft, Cognizant, Adobe etc are some of the top recruiting companies that offer jobs during the LPU Placements. LPU also has updated and fully equipped labs as well to teach candidates the practical aspects. Along with that, the faculty is super intelligent and experienced.

LPU has international accreditation and connections. This helps students to have opportunities for internships and do projects with other companies. All in all the advanced facilities, excellent faculty, placement trends, and an extravagant campus have proven beneficial for me to say that yes LPU is great for Chemical engineering.

I had a wonderful experience at LPU while doing my MBA degree. LPU has one of the best campus, with a beautiful environment encouraging growth and providing excellent academic facilities. It is accredited by several orgranisations and has a good NIRF Ranking across all streams such as Engineering, Management, Pharmacy, etc. I had an amazing student life and I owe it to LPU. Apart from the diverse campus life, LPU has highly knowledgeable and approachable faculty members with an updated and intense curriculum. 

LPU offers both theoretical and practical knowledge and provides internships, live projects, field visits, guest lectures, and more. Students have access to a lot of resources, libraries (online and offline), and research papers. 

Being an LPU alumni, I also had the opportunity to participate in a lot of extracurricular activities. I could enroll for clubs, join societies, read, do theatre, swimming, etc. there was even a gym and the hostel was equally good after a tiring day. 

Last but not the least, the placements. LPU has an amazing placement record and most of the students are able to get placements and pre-placement offers. There are also designated classes to prepare students for the placement drive at LPU. Many companies offer jobs at LPU with really high salary packages.
