What is better, CSE from IIT Patna or IIT Hyderabad?
While the CS branch of both IIT Patna and IIT Hyderabad has excellent academic environments and placements, it’s the fractal system of IIT Hyderabad that steals the show. Under this, students are free to choose electives from a pool of subjects. These can even be core subjects of the department or can be also from other departments. This system helps the students pursue other branches along with CS which keeps all options open for them. Most IIT Hyderabad students are satisfied with this system.
IIT Patna lacks such a system and thus has a slight disadvantage in this aspect. No doubt, IIT Patna fairs better in terms of infrastructure, but academically, IIT Hyderabad is the clear winner.
Should I opt for a minor degree in CSE or IT? I am an ECE major student at NIT Jalandhar.
Every opportunity has its pros and cons both. Similarly, opting for a minor degree in CSE being an ECE major at NIT Jalandhar is both beneficial and difficult. It will increase your academic load. It may or may not help you get better placements.
My personal suggestion would be to give up on a minor degree in CSE and rather pursue additional courses like

These skills will add value to your CV and pay you back tenfold rather than the CSE minor degree.
Can we change branches from ECE to CSE in KLE Technological University?
KLE Technology University is one of the best private colleges in Hubli. NIRF ranked it 151 in the category of best engineering colleges of India. It has a total of 3500 undergraduates and 120 postgraduate students. KLE offers 18 courses across 4 streams. It has a limited number of seats and a campus area of 64 acres. It is recognized by both UGC and AICTE and affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University. There is an intake of 1200 vacant seats in B. Tech.
For changing the branch at KLE Technological University, there are two options.

If you are allotted the ECE branch in first counselling, then you can apply for CSE in second or third counselling. If you have allotted ECE branch in second counselling, you can do the same procedure in the third round also. It is completely valid and acceptable to change the branches if you are not happy with the branch you have got.

If you are in the first year and you want to change the branch for any of the reasons, then you only have one chance and one way and that is to score good enough. Scoring more than 8.5 CGPA is the only way in which you can change your branch in the first year. There should be no backlogs in the first year if you want to change branches.
These are the only options through which one can appear for changing the branches. These procedures work only if there are vacant seats in the CSE branch.
I’m confused in choosing between IIT Kharagpur (mathematics and computing) and IIT Indore or BHU (CS). Can anyone help in that?
It depends mainly on your core interest in the study. The field of Computer Science is vast and out of the blue, which ensures you multiple opportunities compared to mathematics and Computing. If you are interested in coding culture, then it is better to choose BHU for CSE.
The points given below will give more clarification about BHU.
Campus – IIT BHU is situated in the middle of the city, so you will have easy access to coaching centers and other places. The infrastructure is pretty good and old, and the students are given a resourceful atmosphere for their studies.
Alumni – You have a strong alumni network in the CSE department.
Placement support - The recruiters from big companies, including HUL, RIL, KBR, Amazon, and so on. You will get the opportunity to sit with these companies and will be placed in high-salary jobs based on your talent in the CSE field. You also get the chance to impress with your GATE score here.

Both IIT Indore and IIT BHU are well-reputed institutes. But IIT BHU is ahead of IIT Indore in the aforesaid points. So, you should choose IIT BHU for a better future.
Which is better for CS: the NSIT or DTU?
If you are looking for a better peer group, location, and placement opportunities, then NSIT CS will be a better option.
NSIT has a lower student intake. So, the competition is lower for placement and students get the required attention from faculties. For CS, NSIT placements are great. Each year, almost 80% of students get internships. NSIT CSE average package is around INR 12-15 LPA.

NIT KKR has a great coding culture. Students participate in many competitive coding contests like CodeChef, Codeforces, Hackerrank, etc. The final year students also take competitive programming classes. Some of the students of this NIT also joined Google as software engineers or interns. Although improving the coding culture at PEC is not as developed.
Which college will be better for me, NIT Trichy (production engineering) or NIT Jalandhar (CS, IT)?
Comparing the two NITs we know NIT Trichy has a better ranking than NIT Jalandhar. It also holds a stronger brand name. Unless you are extremely interested in Software, I suggest Production Engineering is a better choice. Some points to prove my opinion are:

More companies visit for campus placements like Amazon, Microsoft, Flipkart, and Cisco.

NIT Trichy has an upper hand in faculty, infrastructure, competitive environment, peers, resources, curriculum, labs, and alumni network.

Many finances, banking, consulting, etc. based roles are offered at NIT Trichy and these opportunities are considerably low at mid-level NITs such as NIT Jalandhar.

Post Graduation, if you wish to switch sectors then the brand name of NIT Trichy will help you along the way.
So don't lose a much stronger brand simply because of a simple stream issue. Years down the line, your credibility will be determined by the brand of NIT Trichy solely and not by production engineering at NIT Trichy.
How do you compare M.Tech from CSE between IIT Hyderabad and IIT Guwahati in all terms?
Here is a comparison of IIT Hyderabad CSE and IIT Guwahati based on some common parameters.
- Campus: IIT Guwahati has a much better campus than IIT Hyderabad as the latter is still in its construction phase.
- NIRF Ranking: IIT Hyderabad Overall ranking by NIRF is 14 out of 200 colleges in India in 2022 while IIT Guwahati Overall ranking by NIRF is 8 out of 200 colleges in India in 2022.
- Faculty: The CSE department of IIT Guwahati has a higher number of faculty members than IIT Hyderabad. Faculty members at IIT Hyderabad are young and dynamic, always ready to explore new ideas. They also frequently change the pedagogy style to break the monotony and keep up with the recent trends. IIT Guwahati is quite lacking in this aspect.
- Locational advantage: Being located in close proximity to the IT hub, IIT Hyderabad offers a huge locational advantage thus increasing exposure through invited talks and collaborations with industry experts in IIT Hyderabad.
- Research: As far as the research is concerned, IIT Hyderabad clearly is the winner here. The CSE department of IIT Hyderabad has many better-ranked papers in comparison to the CSE department of IIT Guwahati.
- Computing facilities: IIT Hyderabad's computing facilities are great.
Sparing the campus issue, CSE from IIT Hyderabad seems to be a better option than CSE from IIT Guwahati.
If a person gets CS at NIT Goa, which IIIT CS he should opt that is better than NIT Goa?
The top four IIITs in the country are – IIIT Hyderabad; IIIT Bangalore; IIIT Delhi; and IIIT Allahabad
If you get CS in any of the above-mentioned IIITs, just go for it The next two top IIITs are IIIT Gwalior and IIITDM Jabalpur. But there is a huge gap between these two. You may consider these two as well over NIT Goa. But then it is tricky and it should be left on your preference.
Generally, if you go to any NIT, then the topmost paying salary jobs are usually taken up by the CS guys of that college. So you will get a very good placement opportunity at NIT Goa as well if you get CS. If you are getting any other IIIT other than the top 6, then I would suggest you stick with NIT Goa.
