How is the CS branch in IET-DAVV?

DD
Drishanu Dey Posted On : June 15th, 2021
B.E. Computer Science Engineering, Institute of Engineering and Technology, DAVV (2019)

IET-DAVV is one of the best among state-level engineering colleges in M.P. If we consider Indore and MANIT Bhopal as well, state-wise, the rank of IET-DAVV becomes 4th.

  • IET-DAVV offers the best placement offers to the CS branch. This isn't exclusive to IET-DAVV, as it goes for any engineering college around the country.
  • In recent years, students also scored well in CAT and GATE. But for coding, your company would stand out. There are people who scored 99 percentile in their CAT and for GATE.
  • If you are into coding, you will find some like-minded people on campus.
  • The infrastructure, administration, faculty strength are not that great but decent.
  • For CS, you can expect a CTC around 5-12 LPA. In 2020, the average CTC offered in the placement drive was 6 LPA.

In case you do not make it to the top 15 NITs, do not lose hope and go for IET-DAVV.

Which college should I choose, PSIT Kanpur or IMS Ghaziabad for a B.Tech through CS?

PS
Pratiksha Singh Posted On : February 13th, 2023
Lived in New Delhi -110027 (2001–2016)

In my opinion, IMS Ghaziabad is a much better option than PSIT Kanpur mainly because of its NCR location. When choosing a college, a factor of utmost importance is where the college is situated because your location will impact your college life largely. Opting for a college situated in NCR is a boon as it will give you a lot of exposure to activities and education in general. You get more exposure to industries and startups and thus getting internships is a lot easier. One more advantage is that you can avail many good coaching facilities in the NCR location which may not be possible in a city like Kanpur.

The campus life is less strict at IMS Ghaziabad than at PSIT and there are no strict attendance rules. The fees and value of a degree are almost similar in both colleges but you can enjoy your life much better at NCR colleges. I am strongly against you joining PSIT Kanpur because

  • Not a good location
  • Unnecessary struck rules related to attendance
  • You have to be stuck 9-5 completing unnecessary assignments which have no real importance
  • Not a good college to enjoy life and hang out
  • No coding culture in PSIT

Despite it all, PSIT Kanpur has a 100% placement percentage and will help you get places in CS. Weigh your options and choose wisely.

PG
Prantik Guha Posted On : October 3rd, 2020
Studied at Sharda University (2018)

Both Sharda University and IIMT offer decent CSE programs. Sharda University, Greater Noida is ranked 65th for private engineering by India Today 2019. Whereas, IIMT, Greater Noida is ranked 111 by Times 2020.

Admissions:

Sharda University-

  • It organizes an entrance exam known as SUAT.

  • Candidates with 60 % aggregate in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics are eligible to apply for this entrance.

  • Applicants who are rank holders in JEE-Main/UPSEE will be exempted from SUAT. Shortlisted candidates are called for a personal interview.

  • The cut-offs for applying CSE AT Sharda is; 60% during the 10th, 70% during the 12th 300000 ranks in JEE Main, and 50000 ranks in UPSEE.

IIMT-

  • In the case of IIMT, the selection process is only based on the rank obtained in UPSEE, and for management quota; admission will be based on the marks obtained in the qualifying exam or respective entrance exam as per University.

  • Minimum 45% marks in 12th and rank obtained in UPSEE is the cut off for selection at IIMT.

At Sharda University, the total fee structure is 7.49 lakhs for the B. Tech program in CSE. Whereas at IIMT, the total fee structure is 4.34 lakhs for the B. Tech program in CSE.

Placement:

  • Sharda University has witnessed the average salary package of 12 lakhs and the highest salary package of 54 lakhs.

  • IIMT has witnessed 15.5 lakhs as the highest salary package and 3.5 lakhs as the average salary package.

Which is the best option, Mathematics and Computing at IIT Guwahati, CSE at IIIT Hyderabad, or CSE at BITS Pilani?

A
Admin Posted On : May 14th, 2024
  • According to me, BITS Pilani is the best option for those who want to pursue CSE. The curriculum has been designed in a way that will help the students to get thorough knowledge of the domain. The curriculum has an equal focus on theoretical and practical subjects.
  • However, you need to be prepared to learn many courses per semester. You will be truly busy during the four years of this course with too many assignments, lab tests, quizzes, etc.
  • You will need adequate practice and hard work to ace the tests. However, at BITS Pilani we believe in smart work instead of hard work.
  • The total fee for this 4-year CSE course is around INR 22 lakhs including the hostel fees. The median salary for 2023 stood at INR 18.20 LPA. The top recruiters include Adobe, Accenture, Apple, Cipla, Bajaj Finserv, Cognizant and many more.
