Should I join IIT Gandhinagar CS or NIT Trichy CS?

Sayantani Barman Posted On : July 24th, 2023

IIT Gandhinagar CSE is certainly a better option than NIT Trichy CSE. Consider the following points in favor of my stance

  • IIT Gandhinagar, despite being a new IIT, has made its mark in the IIT family. It stands right after IIT Hyderabad, IIT BHU, and IIT Indore.
  • IITs being institutes of national importance receive more funding from the Central Government than NITs. This directly means better infrastructure, faculty, and research facilities.
  • The city Gandhinagar is well developed than Trichy thus it attracts more recruiters and provides better opportunities.
  • You will get the most coveted IIT tag that even has high global recognition.

IIT Gandhinagar has excellent placement opportunities for the CSE branch the statistics are mentioned below:

Placement Percentage

100%

Offers

32

Highest CTC

INR 62 LPA

Average CTC

INR 23.88 LPA

IIT status enjoyed by IIT Gandhinagar makes it a more preferable option and it is expected to become even better in the upcoming years.

I have 9.3/94.4%/70% in X/XII/B.E. How much CAT percentile should I aim for to get into IIM K/L/I? I'm a GEM student from Vasavi College of Engineering.

Rajashree Roy Posted On : August 20th, 2021
MBA from IIM C (2020)

There is no such specific CAT percentile that will guarantee admission in any of the IIMs as the admission depends on various factors. Which are as follows.

  1. CAT score: Usually, students with 99+ percentile get into further rounds.
  2. Academic records
  3. Work experience
  4. Gender diversity
  5. Engineering or Non-engineering candidate
  6. Extra-curricular activities.

After getting through these factors, there will be GD and PI. Most of the candidates get stuck at this phase.

Here are some of the tips to do well in GD and PI.

  • It is important to be real and authentic. Try avoiding bluffing.
  • Do not get panicked or stressed.
  • It is okay if you can’t answer a few questions. Try managing the situation.
  • It is important to show the achievements.
  • It is important to be well prepared for the general question and academic-related questions.

It is important to be active and well prepared for all the cases.

Is it better to go to NIT Srinagar than VIT Vellore?

A
Admin Posted On : May 15th, 2024

As a student of VIT Vellore, I find myself eligible to only comment on my college.

VIT Vellore is a private college with top class infrastructure and other facilities. It is ranked highly in the NIRF 2023 engineering rankings, at 11th position. The infrastructure of VIT is top notch, with well equipped and modern laboratories.

VIT offers really good IT placements, and the college faculty is highly qualified and experienced. The students at VIT are given plenty of opportunities in the form of internships, student exchange programs, and training offers.

Apart from all these pros of joining VIT, the con is that its fees are quite high. The fee structure is divided into several categories, and is different for each engineering branch. But the minimum academic fee is approx. INR 2 lakh for the first year (excluding hostel and mess charges).

Here is a detailed video on VIT Vellore for your reference-

Despite its high fees, VIT offers good infrastructure, faculty, academics, extracurriculars, placements, and brand name. This is why, I would recommend you consider VIT Vellore for your engineering studies.

What is the pay for the second-year internship at IIM Ahmedabad?

Namrata Das Posted On : June 19th, 2023

IIM Ahmedabad does not disclose information about the pay for the second-year internship as per their policy. The stipend varies based on many factors including the industry, the company, and the role offered to the intern.

Generally, it is common for companies to offer a stipend to second-year MBA students during their summer internships.

  • This year the placement was completed within a day and all 480 students in the batch got placed.
  • The stipend amount ranges from INR 30,000 to INR 2 lakhs per month.
  • A total of 481 students participated in the summer placement process and were placed with a median stipend of 1.20 Lakh Per Month.
  • Apart from that, some companies also offer performance-based incentives or bonuses based on the intern's performance during the internship period.

The stipend paid during the summer internship is intended to cover the intern's living expenses and is not meant to be a source of income. The primary objective of the summer internship is to provide students with hands-on industry experience and exposure to real-life business challenges, which is invaluable in the long run.
