How is the ETC branch in VSSUT Burla?

RT
Raktim Tarafdar Posted On : October 12th, 2023

The ETC branch in VSSUT is not a good option at all. The curriculum is rigid and students have no option but to mug up the books prescribed by the professors. Sometimes the professors even prescribe the wrong books and students end up failing. You will have to consult your seniors regarding the books you have to follow. The teachers are least interested in teaching and you will have to depend on self-study.

The professors are so arrogant that if you reach the class even a minute after the professors, they don’t let you sit in class.

The laboratory equipment is old and obsolete. Hardly is there any instrument that works? Students are expected to work in such lab conditions and conduct experiments. Most of the time the teacher himself has no idea about the lab experiments. The worst part is that students have to be dressed in formal.

I will suggest you reconsider your decision if you are planning to take this branch.

Since Heritage Institute of Technology was granted autonomous status can it reach up to the zenith of success and sit on the same seats as JU and BESU?

TB
Tirtharaj Basu Posted On : September 15th, 2021
Completed B.Tech in Electrical Engineering,Jalpaiguri Government Engineering College in 2019

For reaching that level, a lot of hard work would be required from the students, faculty and the administration. It takes time to achieve success.

  • More involvement in innovation and regular curriculum research can also go a long way.
  • Enhancing the quality of the environment is also a big step in the right direction.
  • An autonomous institute gets the right to make their own question papers and update the contents of its syllabus.
  • A more organized structure of the course is very likely.
  • There is also hope that the quality of checking of the papers will also go up.
  • Placements determine the status of an institute so that it can attract more and more candidates.
  • A lot of the students of CSE in HIT have become interested in getting publications.
  • More stress can be laid on activities that are pertaining to research.

Like it has been said, improvements do not happen overnight. And it hardly ever does well when we compare ourselves with others, HIT can move forward at its own pace and it will succeed in its endeavors eventually.

In the ICAR AIEEA UG, can I take agriculture as one of my subjects instead of physics?

RR
Ranjit Roy Posted On : January 20th, 2021
Studied at UAS - University of Agricultural Science- Dharwad (2018)

For the domains of B.Sc. like Agriculture, Horticulture, Forest and Fishery, although the eligibility is of physics as a compulsory subject in 10+2 yes in the entrance examination one can surely opt for agriculture instead of physics but for the other domains like Food Technology, Dairy Technology, Biotechnology, Nutrition and Dietician, Sericulture, Agriculture Engineering, you have to compulsorily opt for the physics and agriculture won’t be an option.

The five sections of the exam are:

  1. Physics(P)
  2. Chemistry(C)
  3. Biology(B)
  4. Agriculture(A)

A student can take agriculture in place of biology but taking agriculture in place of physics is not an option for most of the domains provided.

This depicts the information regarding opting for the subjects. Now it depends on the student about which subject to choose.

How is IMS Ghaziabad for PGDM, and what are the campus placements like over there?

AV
Aman Verma Posted On : February 13th, 2023
Studied at Institute of Technology and Science (ITS)

IMS Ghaziabad is a decent choice for PGDM in case you don’t have time to re-attempt CAT and have no better options. In this case, you have to resort to giving up on top-tier colleges and choosing mediocre schools. IMS Ghaziabad is one such choice and satisfies those looking for average college life and placements.

The quality of education is good, and the courses are taught by knowledgeable faculty who are quite learned and experienced in their fields. Students get enough exposure to the corporate world.

As far as the placements are considered, the students have been posting about the terrible situation in the college and have been criticizing the system. But the reality is you get placed on the basis of knowledge and skills you have acquired in 2 years. Even a top college will not get you a good package if you did not gain the necessary knowledge and skills. So it all depends on you and not the college.
