Vishwakarma Institute of Technology

Yes, VIT Pune is definitely a great choice for Instrumentation engineering in Maharashtra, then you are left with a few choices. In Pune, COEP is best.

  • VIT is an autonomous institute so has a well-structured and updated curriculum. semester a mini project is compulsory to impart technical knowledge.
  • VIT Pune organizes great Technical, Cultural, and Social activities.
  • The academic ambiance is great with minimal workload and supportive staff. The lab facilities are great too.
  • The Department has built relations with instrumentation companies.
  • Excellent internship opportunities are provided. Placements depend on your marks.

So VIT Pune is an excellent choice for Instrumentation and Control Engineering.

How can you define a B.Tech at JNTUH?

SD
Sai Kumar Dhillon Posted On : August 8th, 2023
Studied at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (2016)

The life of a B.Tech student at JNTUH is amazing if you make the most of it. There are many perks of choosing JNTUH, especially over its affiliated colleges-

  1. The campus is spacious and beautiful. It has a separate block for all the different engineering departments and separate buildings for all the first-year B.Tech students.
  2. The campus has well-equipped libraries. There is a central library along with a college library which issues 4 and 3 cards respectively. Overall, you will get 7 cards which is enough for a semester.
  3. TEQIP is open 24*7 and has a good quality internet facility. The labs are well-equipped. The auditorium is very beautiful and is one of the best college auditoriums.
  4. The sports facilities are pretty good.
  5. You will get all the freedom and no one will spoon-feed you.
  6. There are plenty of places to hang out outside the campus.
  7. The placements are good and packages lie between 3.3 LPA to 12 LPA.

I would also like to shed some light on the weak points of JNTUH. The professors over here teach very well but the teaching assistants do not. You won’t have the freedom to conduct your own experiments in the lab and will have to follow instructions. There are no literary clubs, drama clubs, and anything of that kind over here.

You will have a great time at JNTUH if you create a balance between studies and enjoyment.

How many hours does one have to devote to study in IIIT Delhi?

AD
Arohi Dasgupta Posted On : October 7th, 2023
studied at Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi

On average, a student at IIIT Delhi needs around 59 hours per week to study and get decent marks. On campus, they are expected to devote 24 hours per week to their academics which is roughly 5 hours a day.

  • Here the schedule is quite hectic. Every course you take has 3 hours of lectures a week and you have to choose 5 such courses a semester. This equals 15 hours/week of lectures.
  • In the 1st 2 years, 2-3 courses have labs and tutorials which are both 1.5 hours a week. Even if all 3 courses have both these the duration will be 9 hours/week of practicals and tutorials.
  • The remaining time is 26 hours/week with less than 4 hours a day. Moreover, you will be spending 6 hrs a week on assignment completion/quiz preparation. So almost 18 hours a week will be devoted to that.
  • The remaining 8 hours/week will be spent either on projects.

Such a tight schedule might be overwhelming initially but the pressure decreases as the semesters pass.

What should I choose between IIT Patna metallurgical engineering and CSE at Vellore Institute of Technology?

A
Admin Posted On : July 1st, 2023

IIT Patna and VIT are well-established institutes in India. Both of them are excellent at academics, infrastructure, facilities, and a resourceful atmosphere. Let us have a look at the benefits of both the colleges and the courses.

IIT Patna

  • This institute was established in 2008. You won’t regret choosing it as you will have the advantage of the brand name IIT.
  • Most companies prefer IITians, and it is also beneficial if you are planning to attend competitive entrance exams like the CAT, GMAT, and so on.
  • But placement support in the field of metallurgical engineering is comparatively low. Students who opt for this course mostly prefer higher studies or research.

Vellore Institute of Technology

  • If you are not worried about the brand name, then opt for VIT for computer science. As we know, CS is a vast field that will open ample opportunities in the future.
  • VIT is known for its effective placement support, especially in the CSE department.
  • Top IT companies, including Infosys, TCS, etc., mostly opt for students with a background in computer science.

So, if you are interested in higher studies, then opt for IIT Patna for metallurgical Engineering or VIT for CS to get placed in top IT companies.

Is IIT BHU better than IIT Hyderabad in civil?

AR
Aditi Roy Posted On : May 16th, 2023
lives in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, India

My knowledge is limited to IIT Hyderabad Civil Engineering as my brother hails from the same

  • IIT Hyderabad Civil Engineering started in 2012, and only a few batches have passed out yet.
  • The branch usually records 100% placements
  • Majority of the branch is recruited by core companies like L&T, STRATA, TATA Steel, etc.
  • Students were provided internship offers from top institutes and companies like NCAOR (Antartica), TATA Steel, Univ. of Tokyo, Coal India, Purdue Univ, L&T, Keller, Shapoorji Pallonji, etc.
  • IIT Hyderabad has longstanding ties with international universities like Purdue University, Tokyo University, Ritsumeikan University, State University of New York, etc.
  • The faculty of this department is young and dynamic such that you can approach them easily in case of any issues.
  • You get tremendous practical exposure which won't be possible in the case of IIT BHU.

Considering the fast-paced growth of IIT Hyderabad Civil in the initial stages itself, I will recommend you join it over IIT BHU.

Can students in IIT Kharagpur get 9.8 CGPA?

NG
Nikhil Goal Posted On : March 27th, 2023
Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur (IIT KGP)

Yes, it’s not that difficult to secure a 9.8 CGPA in IIT Kharagpur, especially in the first year. The entire batch has a strength of 10-15, students are easily able to touch the 9.5+ mark.

  • One needs to get an excellent score (AE) in major subjects of highest credit (4)
  • Decent score (A) in 3 subjects of minor credits
  • The lab work is pretty difficult and thus it’s almost impossible to get AE. These lab work have 2 credit requirements.
  • Maintaining a good CGPA is easy in the first year provided you don’t join any society and focus purely on academics.
  • Don’t rely on professors completely and try self-study for subjects at least in the first year.

As you will move further, your subjects will become complicated and then you will have to depend on classes and professors.

Is naval architecture and ocean engineering in IIT Madras a good choice?

JS
Jayeeta Saha Posted On : March 31st, 2023
M.Tech in Ocean Engineering at IIT Madras (2019)

The Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering branch at IIT Madras offers courses over 3 levels

B.Tech level: This level offers the maximum job prospects one could ask for.

  • The placements of BTech students of this branch are excellent although core offers are only a handful. This allows students to switch fields and enter banking, finance, or consultancy.
  • Some students go for MBAs or start preparing for government exams.
  • Those interested in Hughes studies go for a master's or a Ph.D. usually in top foreign institutes.

Masters level: The job prospects are similar to the bachelor's level but most students prefer going for a Ph.D. or a job

  • The placement scenario is identical to BTech placements except that Masters students can also make it into companies that need mechanical or civil background. This is mainly because of their prior knowledge of mechanical or civil branches from the bachelor's degree.
  • Most MTech students go to a job profile that aligns with their bachelor's domain
  • Masters students are more skilled and experienced and thus are offered more core jobs in comparison to BTechbstudents
  • For those interested in higher studies, the option for Ph.D. from a top foreign university is open. Some even convert their Master's into Ph.D. at IIT Madras.
  • Other than Civil and Mechanical companies, Masters's students are offered a plethora of non-core jobs with excellent packages.

Ph.D. level: This is the ultimate level and has very few job prospects

  • No placements are offered to Ph.D. students and most of them enter Academia and become professors in top colleges
  • Those who are hungry for research, continue their passion by becoming Postdocs
  • A very few are inclined towards startups based on their research work and open one of their or join someone else’s

No matter which level you belong to, the students of Naval get to experience the excellent campus life of IIT Madras and get equal exposure to extracurricular activities. The branch may provide limited core opportunities but remember IIT Madras attracts the best non-core jobs and someone open to challenges takes it from a positive perspective.
