Is the branch change option after the 1st year available at NIT Jalandhar?

AW
Ankita Wadhwa Posted On : December 19th, 2022
Studied at Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar ( NITJ )

Yes, it exists in every NIT.

However, there are a few things you should look into:

  • Whether all of the seats in the branch you want to choose are filled or there are some seats available.
  • If you discover that seats for the branch you want are unavailable, you must ensure that you have a higher CGPA depending on the branch you want to attend. Because many students want to change branches, there is a real battle going on, which is being decided by CGPA.
  • Another consideration is the category, such as the need to reserve some seats in a branch for a specific category.

Keep the aforementioned points in mind when making a decision.

How important is work experience to get admission in ISB Hyderabad?

SL
Saija Luthra Posted On : February 15th, 2023
PGDBA (IIM Calcutta, ISI Kolkata, IIT Kgp)

You have the opportunity to attend ISB Hyderabad, a top-notch management school, with at least two years of work experience. However, there are also options available for college students or those with 0-2 years of work experience through their YLP (Young Leaders Program) and EEO (Early Entry Option) programs.

The YLP program allows you to apply during your pre-final year of college and complete the admission process by the time you reach your final year. Once you have two years of work experience, you can start classes at ISB Hyderabad with a deferred admission.

The EEO program offers a similar process for students in their final year of college or those with 0-2 years of work experience.

It's important to note that the YLP and EEO programs only provide different ways of applying to ISB and everything else, including the course content, is the same for all students.

Which is better: Christ University Bangalore or St. Xavier's College, Kolkata?

A
Admin Posted On : May 16th, 2024

Since I haven’t studied at St. Xavier’s College Kolkata, I can not comment about it. But as a student of Christ University, I can present some insights on my own institution.

Christ University’s main focus is on academics. It makes every possible effort towards the academic growth of its students. The university definitely imposes strict and sometimes absurd rules and regulations, but overall the learning environment at Christ is great. Besides studies, the university regularly organizes events and workshops.

Bangalore is a mega city, and the IT hub of India. Christ has the advantage of being located in Bangalore because of which, its students get plenty of exposure and opportunities.

These are a few factors that attracted me towards opting for Christ University for my higher education. I would suggest the same for you.

How much CGPA is required for branch change to CSE at IIT Dhanbad?

AM
Ahana Majumdar Posted On : October 11th, 2023
M.Tech CSE - IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, 2020

Last year IIT Dhanbad's cutoff for branch change to CSE was 9.3. However, I will suggest you not consider joining any colleges solely based on your branch change.

One of my friends was about to make a similar decision when he got Vil at IIT Kanpur. However, seniors dissuaded him from joining the college just for branch change. This is because branch change is very unpredictable and might ruin your future. It's advisable to check the first-year course before considering branch change.

Branch change might be easy for some while very challenging for others. So, I will suggest you never be fully dependent on department change. Always check the content of the branch before making the final choice.

Does NITIE accept the GMAT score for admission?

AM
Aditi Mukherjee Posted On : August 22nd, 2022
PGDIE at National Institute of Industrial Engineering

NITIE doesn’t accept GMAT scores for admission. Admission to the various management courses offered by the institute is based on CAT/GATE scores. International students need valid GMAT and TOFET/IELTS scores to get a shortlist. Shortlisted students need to go through the GD-PI round, in order to get admission.

What is the admission cancellation procedure of Heritage Institute of Technology after taking an admission through the WBJEE? Do they refund the money deposited?

AB
Aranak Banerjee Posted On : September 13th, 2021
Studies Electrical Engineering at Heritage Institute of Technology,2021

As one of my friends studied in Heritage Institute of Technology, I am able to share some of the facts, which you may find useful.

In cases alike, there are two possible scenarios to take into account.

First Scenario:

  • If you have not yet paid the admission fee amounting INR 72,000 but have alternatively paid the WBJEE counselling fee, amounting to INR 20,000; then you have the chance of not further opting to take admission in the college.
  • By simply filling out a form available exclusively in the WBJEE website, you can notify your present circumstance and can definitely secure the amount of INR 20,000 back into your bank account, only after the counselling session is completed.
  • Post the form after you complete filling it up, and in about 3 to 4 months, you will be credited with the money you spent.

Second Scenario:

  • If you have paid both the admission fees, alongside the counselling fees, amounting INR 72,000 and INr 20,000 respectively; then it is quite predictable that you will not secure any amount back.
  • However, it is best that you still have a brief conversation with the staff in the CME office, or the main administrative building, as per your requirements.

In any case whatsoever, have a talk with the authorities of the institute. Partially, the decision that is supposed to be confirmed also depends upon the management of the college. In some cases, they possibly also deduct a reasonable amount and return the rest.

How was Ancient Taxila University and Nalanda University?

TR
Tahagata Roy Posted On : October 5th, 2021
B.Tech Computer Science,Anil Neerukonda Institute of Technology and Sciences

Taxila, also known as Takshashila, flourished in the kingdom of Gandhar from 600 BC to 500 AD.

  • This university taught 68 subjects and, according to ancient texts, the minimum entry age was 16.
  • At one point, it had 10,500 students from Babylon, Greece, Syria, and China.
  • Master teachers taught the Vedas, languages, grammar, philosophy, medicine, surgery, archery, politics, warfare, astronomy, accounts, commerce, documentation, music, dance, and other performing arts, futurology, the occult, and mystical sciences, and complex mathematical calculations.
  • The university's masters panel included legendary scholars such as Kautilya, Panini, Jivak, and Vishnu Sharma. As a result, the concept of a full-fledged university emerged in India.
  • During the 800 years that the university was in operation, it rose to prominence. Its campus was one mile long and half a mile wide. It also had 300 lecture halls with stone benches for seating, as well as laboratories and other facilities.
  • For astronomical research, the university, for example, had a towering observatory called the Ambudharaavlehi. It was home to a massive library known as Dharma Gunj, or the Mountain of Knowledge, which was housed in three buildings known as Ratna Sagar, Ratnodavi, and Ratnayanjak.
  • The entrance examination was extremely difficult, with only three out of every ten students passing it. Despite this obstacle, the Chinese traveler Hien Tsang wrote in his diary that Nalanda University had 10,000 students and 200 professors.

Nalanda University in modern-day Bihar was also a great university with a library that once housed 9 million books. It served as a hub of learning for scholars from all over Asia. Many Greek, Persian, and Chinese students attended classes at Nalanda. The university was destroyed in the 11th century by pillaging Muslim invaders who overran India.

Is taking SVNIT Surat worth it?

AG
Abinash Guha Posted On : January 9th, 2024
B.Tech Chemical Engineering, Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology, Surat

I am an alumnus of SVNIT, and my experience of this college has been great.

SVNIT is a good college in every aspect. It has a good campus, good hostel facilities, decent mess food and good infrastructure.

It is located in a developed part of Surat, the Dumas Road. So it offers good connectivity. The area has easy access to malls, theaters, and amazing eateries.

If you don’t get a top NIT or one of the IITs, SVNIT is the next best option.
