How is the IIM Ranchi IPM interview?
My brother had his interview at IIM Ranchi last year for IPM. His 10th marks were 95% and 12th (PCB) marks stood at 78.4%. His interview was scheduled for the afternoon. He was welcomed by 2 male panelists who seemed quite comfortable and asked him if he had had lunch before appearing for the interview. Then they asked him the following questions
- 10/12th marks
- Favorite subject (PS: I said biology.)
- Why did you choose IPM after having biology? How would these subjects complement you?
- What is the difference between gray and white matter? (Brain)
- What is the function of the vitreous humor, and where is it located?
- What are the different enzymes secreted by the pancreas?
- Name the smallest and largest bone in the human body. (Location as well)
- State the “Second law of thermodynamics.”
- Define E=mc^2
- CM of your state. Any current official statement made by him.
- What is your hobby?
From the above list of questions, we can boldly say that the majority of the questions are aimed at testing your general knowledge. If you have a confident aura, you will easily win their favor.

What GMAT score can be considered good for applying to ISB Hyderabad with an average academic profile?

What is the procedure to get the duplicate mark sheet from Mumbai University?
You can easily complete the procedure for duplicate certificates online. Follow the steps given below
- Visit the official website of Mumbai University.
- Create an account using your mobile number.
- Log in to the website using your new user ID and password and click Higher and Technical Education Department.
- Fill in the details and upload the documents.
- Upload the pdf of the FIR and also mention the seat numbers of the semester on FIR.
- Download Annexures A and B from the website and upload a scanned copy of your photograph and Aadhar Number/UID number to the website.
- Complete the payment process.

How strict is NTTF?
I know a few people who graduated from NTTF. According to their experience, NTTF is quite strict.
- You are not allowed to go out during class hours. There are specific time slots of around 15 minutes for tea and snacks, you can go out only then.
- Mobiles are strictly prohibited.
- Students and faculty have to be in college within time.
- 90% attendance is required at the campus.
- If you have a two-wheeler, you are allowed to park inside the campus only if you have a helmet, and valid license.
So, NTTF is pretty strict about its rules and regulations.
What are the hostel rules for AIIMS, Delhi? Are they strict?
AIIMS Delhi does have its own rules and regulations policy but adherence to these is rarely seen within the campus. A few hostel rules included are
- You are prohibited from installing your own AC, but almost every room has an AC.
- You are not allowed to make any modifications in the room but most students renovate their rooms as per their needs.
- The rules prohibit students from inviting other students to their rooms without permission but even students of opposite gender can be seen together in the same room.
- As per the hostel rules, AIIMS students are not allowed to bring electrical appliances but most students have installed their own refrigerators, microwaves, and toasters.
- The hostel prohibits students from staying with their families at home but some residents of Delhi go back to their homes daily.
All in all, AIIMS Delhi hostel rules are just for formality, and rarely does the administration implement them.
How tough is the instrumentation branch in NIT Trichy?
The first and most important thing to know is “Nothing is difficult”. If you are finding difficulty in engineering then you lack passion and motivation. If you are passionate about Instrumentation then you would not find anything tough.
The atmosphere at NIT Trichy is quite competitive and you should be well prepared to score good marks in your respective branches. You might find some challenging professors. Can I expect a placement after studying BBA at NMIMS?
The placement scenario is quite good at NMIMS Mumbai. According to the reviews online, they provide ample opportunities for jobs in MNC’s. Lots of reputed companies visit the campus during their placement process choosing the deserving candidates. Hence the competition is usually high.
But the one thing that students have shown their concern about are the salary packages offered. The data in the website is said to be inflated to attract more candidates. But in a more true sense the salary packages are really less than portrayed. The college claims to provide an average salary package ranging from 15-16 LPA, mostly the students are offered 9-10 LPA.
The course BBA is really good and full of opportunities, but it is suggested that you complete MBA also to get a better salary package from a reputed company like KPMG, EY, American Express, ICICI Bank, etc. They have a highly experienced faculty, so you will get to learn a lot.
How is the life of a resident doctor pursuing neurosurgery at NIMHANS after an MBBS? Can we get a sneak peek into work hours, leisure activities, and culture at the institute?
Here is the routine of a Neurosurgery resident at NIMHANS.
The department is subdivided into 6 units, each of which is headed by an internationally acclaimed faculty member. The day of a resident starts at around 6 AM with a routine assessment of patients in all the wards under one’s respective unit for the month.
This is followed by academics which start at 8 AM. It runs for 1-1 ½ hours. During this time, the cases posted for surgery are presented by senior residents. These are then discussed among faculty members and residents to reach a decision for the optimal treatment of that case.
After this, the senior residents head to the OT complex, and junior residents present rounds to the faculty. Decisions on further treatment/discharge are made during the rounds.
Junior residents then perform ward procedures like External Ventricular Drain Insertion, Lumbar drains, Lumbar Punctures, Shunt Taps, Fontanelle Tap, Tracheostomies, etc. under supervision. This is followed by evening rounds by the faculty/ senior residents. After these, any leftover work is completed. The evening ends with a post-op call to the respective consultant, and the duty ends at 9 PM when the night duty resident takes over.
The OPD for a particular unit is held on a fixed day. It is also a casualty call day for the unit. Life as a neurosurgery resident is so busy that even having meals is like a luxury.
