What advantage does IIM Raipur have over the other new IIMs?

ST
Shifali Tirke Posted On : January 20th, 2023
PGP from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (Graduated 2019)

Although IIM Raipur is just a mediocre IIM, it does have certain features that set it apart from other IIMs. Some of them include

  • Students exchange program
  • Curriculum based on Harvard Business School course
  • Older than 10 years. This opens gates for more big firms to visit the campus that don’t visit IIMs that are less than 10 years old.
  • A mixed-talented crowd from various walks of life

These points attract many aspirants who end up choosing IIM Raipur for their MBA program.

Is it true that IIM Kozhikode selection criteria is biased in favour of students from Bengal?

BB
Bhoomika Bhataria Posted On : November 15th, 2022
Lives in Mumbai, Maharashtra

No, I don’t think IIM Kozhikode's selection criteria are biased in favor of students from Bengal. One of my uncles was on the interview panel a few years ago. He shared that shortlisting good candidates in Bangalore was a difficult task. Very few candidates were suitable enough to get selected. On voicing his concern for the same he was told not to worry as they will surely get more than enough candidates from Kolkata.

The conclusion is that whatever the reason, there is no special bias towards students from East India. It’s just that a lot of them clear CAT.

Does IIM Indore provide food for South Indians in their mess?

AS
Akshay Sirsalewala Posted On : January 4th, 2023
PGPM from Indian Institute of Management Indore (Graduated 2022)

IIM-I does not have a specific south Indian menu. However, the regular mess menu offers a variety of south Indian dishes like

  • Rasam
  • Dosa
  • Idli
  • Vada

The best part is that there are boundaries in the quantity you want to take. On specific occasions like Onam, a special South Indian dinner is organized.

A typical breakfast on a Sunday morning is one of the best with sandwiches, Dosa, eggs, and fruits.

AB
Akriti Banerjee Posted On : October 16th, 2023
lives in New Delhi

Here are a few pros and cons of Karunya University that will let you decide if it’s worth

Pros

It’s one of the best places for nature lovers as it’s surrounded by beautiful nature and great climate.

  • This university is also a good option if you are spiritual as there are many prayers and special gatherings, etc related to the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • The local people are very good and some seem to be very caring especially.
  • Karunya has amazing laboratories especially mechanical and food processing.
  • Karunya has very few cases of campus ragging.

Cons

  • The management has poor organizational skills
  • The faculty is a bit dedicated and passionate about teaching.
  • The academic environment does not encourage innovation and only theoretical knowledge is given importance.

I feel Karunya needs some changes and suggestions that would push the university to a better position.

Is it correct joining NMIMS Mumbai core after having 3 years of IT experience and currently earning 50 000 per month?

AJ
Ashwin Jog Posted On : March 14th, 2023
MBA at NMIMS(2020)

To establish your credentials before answering the question, as a second-year student at NMIMS Mumbai, you can confidently say that you have three years of work experience in the IT industry prior to joining NM.

If you're considering doing your MBA, NMIMS Mumbai is a great place to pursue it. You can vouch for it because you're almost finished with your MBA and have been placed in a reputed organization with a decent salary.

In addition to a degree and a good pay package, NM can offer you other things that are very important:

  • Industry interface - Since NM is in Mumbai, you have the privilege of connecting with industry stalwarts at conferences, seminars, and guest sessions.
  • Batch strength - Networking is a buzzword that you'll hear a lot once you start your MBA. You'll want to know people, and people will want to know you. That's where the batch strength becomes a real strength.
  • Exposure - You'll have access to great classroom teaching, be able to participate in case study competitions, and execute tasks if you're part of some cell.

Now, here's a reality check:

  • NM is a great place to be. But when it comes to placements, it's generally observed that many people with significant work experience in IT move to IT and consulting roles after their MBA. However, the roles you get once you move to IT again are quite different from what a non-MBA gets. They can include business analyst, product management, pre-sales, and sales roles.
  • There have been instances where people have done good projects, won case study competitions, and performed well in their internships. These serve as certain criteria to make a switch to a different field. If you do well, are passionate about what you want to do in the future, and are also a cultural fit for the company, then you will surely be hired.

How do I apply for the RGUHS permanent certificate MBBS? I didn't receive it through mail till date.

NB
Nidhi Banerjee Posted On : June 29th, 2022
MBBS from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS)

If you haven’t received your permanent certificate from RGUHS, you should contact your college or university. There can be two likely cases - your college hasn’t forwarded the convocation form to RGUHS, or you forgot to submit the application form.

If you have the original application form and you haven’t submitted it, you can contact RGUHS. They will verify your MBBS mark sheets, certificates and provide you with the degree certificate.

If you don’t have the application form then you should have a Xerox copy. Check if the Xerox copy has RUHS seal with date on it. If there’s no seal and date, then RGUHS, hasn't received your application. You should contact your college for further details.

How many students share a room in NIT Patna in the first year?

Namrata Das Posted On : September 1st, 2023

During your first year at NIT Patna, you’ll be sharing your room with one/two other students. You’ll get one out of the three hostels allocated for freshers. I got Kosi Hostel on the banks of Ganga. This hostel is good and you’ll enjoy your stay over there. The rooms are quite decent and the surroundings are serene.

Some facilities provided in the hostels are- 24 hours electricity, wifi, anti smoking alarms, fire rescue systems, emergency exit, mess food and purified water.

It depends on you whether you end up hating or loving the NIT Patna hostels. But you’ll surely make some endless memories with your friends during your stay.
