What do people think about NIT Kurukshetra?
People don’t talk much about NIT Kurukshetra as it’s not among the top NITs. But this certainly does not mean the institute is invaluable and not at par with other engineering colleges. The fact is, people from outside can only see the superficial layer and judge the college based on its infrastructure or placements but once you become a part of the institute you realize its uniqueness and feel attached to your college.
For instance, BITS Pilani seems to be in a desolate area with no places to explore around. However, the reason it’s still one of the best engineering colleges is the people that constitute the college. So what people think about NIT Kurukshetra does not really matter. What matters is the quality of students which directly affects the reputation of the institute.
NIT Kurukshetra is in a similar situation because its remote location puts it at a slight disadvantage. It has one mall and only a few places to explore. However, NIT Kurukshetra in itself is slowly losing its charm because of deteriorating infrastructure and poor academic situation. Although the placement figures say otherwise, the students are well aware of the reality of the reality. Moroebercm, the general public knows about IITs but rarely about NITs.
Does the RGPV online transcript system send transcripts directly to WES?
One of my friends was a BE student from one of the RGPV affiliated colleges. She shared her experience of sending an online transcript to WES which wasn’t completely a smooth process. It is important to note that RGPV doesn't send transcripts and degrees directly to WES or outside India.

First apply online to get the transcripts delivered to your postal address.

After a wait of 3 weeks you will receive your transcript by post. The post will contain 10 attested envelopes with 10 transcript copies.

After that, keep the photocopy of your degree along with a transcript in one of the attested envelopes.

Next visit your university and get a challan of INR 500 from the Union Bank. It’s just 250 m away from the university.

You will get a confirmation mail stating the estimated date of completion to be 30 days from the day they received the docs from the university
If you are still facing an issue, visit the university again till you get a confirmation mail.
Being an NIT Kurukshetra student, do you regret joining college?
You only regret if your expectations are not met and you have to experience the exact opposite. I don’t think joining NIT Kurukshetra will give you that kind of regret, considering it’s a decent college. It’s like any other college in most aspects where education revolves around rote learning. Like any other college, some of the professors are genuine and cooperative while some are just too arrogant. The first year hostels may disappoint you but from the second year, things will get better. Overall the campus is very beautiful with lush greenery.
NIT Kurukshetra will provide you the wings to fly and achieve your goals like any other institute and it’s you who has to utilize the resources to make the most out of them. You will be surprised by a very talented crowd that will teach you a lot academically as well as non-academically.
Overall, the NIT tag, excellent placement scenario, crowd, and campus will definitely give you an edge over other average engineering colleges. All these factors will overshadow the flaws in the education system and academics of the college because the situation is similar everywhere.
What happens in PS1 BITS Pilani?
- BITS Pilani has a division which is named as Pilani Software Systems or simply PSA that mainly focuses on software development.
- In PS1, you will get to work on different software projects of different domains such as industries and academia-related projects. You will be guided by industry experts and faculty members.
- You will get to work on various kinds of projects such as developing software tools, systems for research, machine learning, artificial intelligence and many more.
- This has been developed to provide students with hands-on learning and give them practical exposure.
- You will get to learn how the whole software industry works and what work you will be assigned when you join companies in the near future.
- PSI helps students develop technical expertise and will guide them to a successful career in the field of research, development and other related fields.
How good is the ECE department of MNNIT Allahabad in terms of faculty, infrastructure, exposure and placements?
As a former ECE student at MNNIT Allahabad, I can say that this is one of the best departments of our college. MNNIT is one of the best choices for an ECE, among all the NITs.
Here are some details about the department-
- Faculty- As someone freshly out of school, this will come as a shock to you. Not just MNNIT, rather the faculty of all major Indian colleges is not up to the mark. But there are always some dedicated teachers among the lot, it is your job to find them and learn from them.
The ECE faculty is decent. Some teachers are really bad at teaching, but there is none who lacks knowledge. The department has some excellent researchers and administrators.
- Infrastructure- The college infrastructure is not that good, it is in fact a bit disappointing. Regardless, the labs and academic block are well laid-out. Moreover, the ECE classrooms and labs are much better in comparison.
- Exposure- The department makes every effort to provide its students with the best opportunities, but you need to take the first step and show genuine interest. The department will provide you the launchpad, but the effort has to come from your side.
- Placements- This college is at par with the top engineering colleges of India in terms of ECE placements. The placement figures have been promising throughout. This is because of a highly sincere placement cell. Moreover, ECE students are eligible for jobs in almost all categories including IT, Software, Core and Consultancy.
The ECE department of MNNIT offers better grades, fewer classes, and comparatively lenient teachers. You’ll surely face ups and downs at the department, but in the end, it will all be worth it.
How is the infrastructure of NIT Kurukshetra in comparison with other NITs?
Here are a few pros and cons pertaining to the infrastructure of NIT Kurukshetra
Pros
- The hostels are amazing with all basic amenities like internet connectivity.
- There is a huge Sports Complex which has a gym and swimming pool too.
- NIT Kurukshetra has a huge library decked with a variety of books. There are reading rooms for students to study.
- Students have many options for eating both inside and outside the campus.
- The campus has a market that sells all basic goods.
- There is an SBI branch in the market. ATM.
- The Lecture Hall Complex was constructed recently and has the most modern facilities.
- The Open Air Theatre holds all the cultural events, star nights, etc.
- The SAC - Students’ Activity Centre is where the artists, dancers, singers, and musicians practice.
Cons
- The campus faces an intense hot climate and most of the classes have no air-conditioning facilities. You will find fans everywhere except for the computer labs, CCN, and library.
- The laboratories are not equipped with the latest instruments as most of them are obsolete.
You can clearly see how the pros overshadow the cons. NIT Kurukshetra campus has witnessed huge changes over the past few years because the new Director of the institute is working hard to improve the infrastructure. So you can expect things to get better!
Will IIM Kozhikode allow LSM students to sit for consulting companies?
Yes, IIM Kozhikode will likely allow the LSM students to sit for consulting companies. It is the Placement Committee that offers the consulting companies the best students. So they will surely highlight the benefits of this course to potential recruiters. Students from any course are not restricted to sit for placements at all. Even the ups and downs of the placements are controlled by the General Management and not the institute itself.
This program is likely to produce all rounded talents so consulting common should definitely hire a few to create talent for the company.
How are the boys hostels of RGPV Bhopal?
There are two hostels in the RGPV campus. The older one is for PG students. It has average infrastructure. The new boys hostel (Chandrashekhar Azad Boys Hostel) excels in every aspect.

The accommodation facilities are excellent. A single room is available for every student. PhD students have a special suite room. A variety of festivals are celebrated here. Cricket tournaments are organised frequently.
All in all hostel life here is never dull. If you opt for this boys' hostel you are sure to enjoy your hostel life to a great extent.
Which should I choose, the IIT Guwahati M and C or BITS Pilani CSE?
BITS Pilani has the upper hand in almost every aspect. Being older than IIT Guwahati, it enjoys a better reputation both inside and outside India. Moreover, BITS Pilani CS placements are better than IIT Guwahati MnC placements.
Curriculum: IIT Guwahati MnC curriculum is poorly designed. It’s a mixture of Maths, Computer Science, and Finance making you the Jack of all trades but master of none. The syllabus of IIT Guwahati is not updated while BITS follows the updated syllabus of the world-famous university, Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Electives: BITS Pilani offers a wide range of electives to choose from. You can even take up many electives in a specific field and get a minor degree in the same. IIT Guwahati on the other hand has minor electives only in the final year with only 2 open electives. Moreover, MnC students are not allowed to take minor courses in computer science due to some common courses.
Hostel: The BITS Pilani CSE students get excellent accommodation facilities at Gandhi Bhawan. Thus hostel provides double occupancy ik the first year and single occupancy in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th years. The washrooms are similar to washrooms in hotels and the overall facilities are top-notch.
It’s important to note that my answer was specifically talking about the Pilani campus as my knowledge is limited to the same. So, I will suggest you to go for BITS Pilani over IIT Guwahati any day.
What are the things which need most attention in order to improve the condition of NIT Jamshedpur?
To rise up to the level of top engineering institutes in India, NIT Jamshedpur needs to work on its infrastructure, faculty and research initiatives.
The college needs infrastructural development. The CSE labs should be well equipped with the latest hardware and software. The other labs are comparatively in a better position, but the CSE department labs need serious updates.
The college faculty lacks a research oriented temperament. This needs to change, so that research culture is promoted among the students. The right faculty will provide necessary research guidance to the students in various disciplines.
The college needs to take up industry sponsored research projects. By doing so, students will acquire the necessary exposure. Moreover, these industries will facilitate the improvement of research facilities at NIT Jamshedpur.
Despite the limitations of infrastructure and research facilities, the alumni of NIT Jamshedpur have successfully attained high positions in reputed firms over the years. This proves the caliber of the students of this institution.
If NIT Jamshedpur works on these areas, along with the ones mentioned in a previous answer, we can expect to see tremendous growth in this institution in the coming years.
