NV
Nalini Verma Posted On : September 6th, 2023
M.Tech Computer Science and Engineering, National Institute of Technology, Warangal (2018)

It depends on your interest in and knowledge of the core subject. NIT Warangal is the best choice, as they offer quality education to the students. Let us look into a detailed view of Environmental Engineering

It is one of the trending courses, as it is the fastest-rising sector in India. The increase in population is directly proportional to the increase in pollution around the world. The contaminated air and water resources will put human life in crisis, thereby increasing the demand for environmental engineering in the coming decade. How is the ranking for new IITs for Mtech CSE, IIT Patna, IIT Gandhinagar, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Ropar, IIT Bhubaneswar, Indore, Jodhpur, and Mandi (in terms of placement, coding and academic workload)

AB
Akriti Banerjee Posted On : June 20th, 2023

Based on placements, coding culture, and academic environment here is how I will rank the second-generation IITs

  • IIT Hyderabad takes the first place because of its location in the IT hub of India. The preferable location attracts many reputed firms like Goldman Sachs, NVIDIA, JP Morgan, INTEL, Qualcomm, and Microsoft.
  • IIT Gandhinagar comes second again because of its location and the type of recruiters it attracts. It might not have companies like Qualcomm, INTEL, or JP Morgan Chase but other big shots like Nutanix, Microsoft, GS visit the campus frequently. Even IIT Indore and IIT Bhubaneswar are ranked second as they are similar.
  • Both IIT Jodhpur and IIT Ropar are equal in rankings and are placed 3rd in this list because of their location. These colleges provide excellent opportunities for CS students who are at par with IITs like Hyderabad, Gandhinagar, Jodhpur, Indore, and Bhubaneswar.
  • I would rank IIT Mandi the last because of its poor location. The college has zero connectivity and no big companies care to visit for placements. IIT Mandi is a good option for those who want to study in a peaceful environment away from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Overall, most IITs are similar, and thus distance from home should be the major criterion to be considered.

Which is better, IIT Guwahati for CSE or IIT Delhi for EE?

AB
Akriti Banerjee Posted On : May 6th, 2023
lives in New Delhi

Although both programs are good, I would still recommend IIT Delhi EE over IIT Guwahati CSE. Here are a few reasons that support my recommendation

  • Better job opportunities: The EE department covers various CSE courses making its students eligible to sit for all CSE companies for placements. These companies include Microsoft, Tower Research, Goldman Sachs, etc. Additionally, the students also have the advantage of offers from core EE companies like Nvidia, Intel, and AMD.
  • Great location: Due to its prime location, IIT Delhi is close to many places to explore in Delhi. Some of these are Connaught Place, Khan Market, HKV and the list goes on. Delhi also has better transportation and connectivity than Guwahati. Plus, Delhi has better transport connectivity and is way easier to reach than Guwahati.
  • College Fests: Rendezvous, IIT Delhi's annual cultural fest is the biggest of its kind in North India. There is also Tryst, the tech fest, and Sportech, the sports fest.
  • Amazing startup culture: IIT Delhi is known for its highly encouraging startup culture. Out of the 30 unicorns founded by Indians in the last few years, 15 of them were founded by IIT Delhi Alumni. IIT Delhi helps you with finding, ideas and the necessary resources for startup.
  • Branch change: While branch change might be difficult in other IITs, IIT Delhi has an easy branch-changing policy with over 100 students changing their branches every year.

Hence, IIT Delhi EE is a better option than IIT Guwahati CSE.

Is ICFAI university (IBS hyderabad) a good university for engineering?

JP
Jeet PC Posted On : February 14th, 2023
Studied at B S High School

My sister is a CSE major who has been studying at ICFAI for 3 years. She says that the when she had joined the placement scenario was average but the recent batches have witnessed better placement opportunities. Let’s discuss further about ITS on the basis of the following factors

  • Faculty: The extremely qualified and experienced faculty is very few. The rest are average professors. The Electronics and Maths departments are said to have the best professors.
  • Research: The research culture at ITS is rather bleak. Lack of research oriented work is a crucial matter for students who are interested in research work.
  • Curriculum: The institute's curriculum model, syllabus, semester and internship patterns and even pedagogy Is almost similar to that of BITS-PILANI.
  • Campus: The institute is said to have the most beautiful campus in the city of Hyderabad. The ambiance around the campus is calm and serene making it perfect for studies. The serenity of the campus is a major reason why many students choose it over other colleges.
  • Diversity: The institute leaves no stones unturned while selecting students from diverse backgrounds and cultures.

ITS is a very good option for those who are willing to study hard and make new friends in their journey.

How can I get admission in IIM Ahmedabad if my score in the 10th class is 59 and in the 12th class is 40 and 80 in the BBA final 80?

FS
Farah Shah Posted On : December 21st, 2022
Studied at Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad

With a graduation score of more than 50%, you are eligible to take the CAT and gain admission to IIM Ahmedabad. With your academic background, admission to IIM Ahmedabad is extremely difficult. With the addition of 5 points for work experience, your chances of getting may improve if you have more than 36 months of experience.

In the academic rating, you will receive the following scores:

10th grade = 2/10

12th grade=1/10.

Graduation=8/10.

To be considered for an interview with IIMA, you must have a composite score of 0.642 out of 1. You will need 0.512 out of 0.7 in CAT score with a 13/30 academic rating, which is 0.512/0.7*300=219.42 marks in CAT. If you live in Delhi and are studying for the CAT, you can be mentored by IIMA alumni.

What are the chances of a score-based call from SPJIMR?

SN
Sneha Nagaraju Posted On : March 6th, 2023
MBA Finance, S. P. Jain Institute of Management and Research (2020)

My friend has got both a profile-based and a score-based call. He had to choose between IIM Indore and SPJIMR so he eventually went for the SPJIMR. IIM Indore alumni told him about the issues the students face during placements owing to the huge batch size. The recruiters offer the best packages to the top students and the rest of the batch ends up with average packages. This made him choose SPJIMR.

As he went for the interview, he soon realized that the other candidates had scores much better than his (97+). This disheartened him with the lowest score (96 something). He knew clearly he had zero chances and left right after the first round. He further said that the campus wasn’t that appealing and IIM Indore and FMS seemed to have better infrastructure. So the bottom line is the chances of getting a score-based call from SPJIMR are very low.

Which is a better choice, engineering physics at IIT Delhi or CS at IIT Ropar?

SM
Subhashree Modak Posted On : April 5th, 2023
B.Tech. from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (2020)

I will recommend you opt for Engineering Physics only if

  • You have a great interest in physics and want to conduct research or pursue higher studies in it like a Master, Ph.D., and Postdoc
  • Do you want an IIT tag to target different things like UPSC, Banking, etc

A few points one needs to know regarding Engineering Physics

  • No job opportunities for UG students in the core Physics Department of top Indian government research organizations.
  • Companies like DRDO, ISRO, and BARC offer core jobs to MTech students only
  • The usual trend is to opt for Engineering Physics and then go for Masters and Ph.D.
  • Students of the Engineering physics department can opt for a minor degree from another department like CS by attaining a certain limit of credits. Nevertheless, he will be considered a physics graduate and not CS.

IIT Ropar despite being a new IIT offers decent opportunities in terms of higher studies as well as job opportunities. He can work with top research organizations like ISRO and BARC or even work at reputed firms.

Concludingly, IIT Delhi is a good choice if your primary interest is physics and higher studies. If you are looking for a high-paying CA-related job, then IIT Ropar is for you.

What does it feel like to be recently graduated out of IIT Kharagpur?

AD
Ajay Diwan Posted On : March 27th, 2023
Studied at IIT Kharagpur

Unlike others, my brother was to leave home and embark on a new journey of college life at IIT Kharagpur. He did not expect much academically and all he cared for was the free life he was about to live. He wasn’t much interested in extracurricular activities and just wanted to explore new things.

He spent the entire 4 years creating memories, learning new things and exploring the campus. During his time at IIT KGP, he had his days of disappointments as well as excitement and there were so many rollercoaster events that made his college life very happening.

All this came to a sudden halt when college life ended and he started working and had a taste of real life. It took away all the freedom and fun and made him stuck to his computer forever. No matter how good your job is, at one point you are bound to feel restricted in contrast to the free college life you spent.

Your happiness depends somehow on how much freedom you have and once your college life is over you lose that freedom considerably making happiness a luxury only a few can afford.

What should I choose between IIT BHU pharmaceutical and NIT Jalandhar CSE?

CM
Chirag Mittal Posted On : December 3rd, 2022
B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology, Jalandhar (NITJ) (Graduated 2020)

In my opinion, if you are interested in CSE, you should go for IIT BHU VARANASI. Some points to prove my opinion right are:

  • IIT BHU offers better packages than NIT Jalandhar.

  • IIT tag is very valuable

  • Study environment, facilities and academic culture at IIT BHU is much better than NIT Jalandhar.

Initially Pharmaceutical may seem challenging. But with time you will adjust.
