How difficult is it to survive in IIM Ahmedabad for a not so stellar profile student?

AA
Arun Awasthi Posted On : November 24th, 2022
Studied at Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad

To answer this question you need to know what a stellar profile really is. It’s your particular skill set that makes you a good candidate for placements rather than just your academics and course.

If you are referring to placements as survival then trust me there are jobs for every profile. You need to focus on two main things. Excel in your own field (Humanities or Commerce) and develop a good network.

As far as the placements are concerned your particular background will fetch you the most suitable job.

What things need to be changed in NIT Hamirpur?

SV
Shivangi Verma Posted On : September 13th, 2023
B.Tech from National Institute of Technology, Hamirpur (2019)

Though this is a subjective question, here are a few things I would personally like for NIT Hamirpur to change-

  1. The teaching methodology and overall administration should be changed. Things like semester registration and hostel allotment should be shifted to online mode.
  2. Hostel allotment shouldn’t be done on a first come first serve basis.
  3. Document verification should be moved online.
  4. There should be branch-specific subjects from the first year itself.
  5. Students’ feedback on teachers should be taken seriously.
  6. There shouldn’t be classes for open electives.
  7. Better senior junior interaction should be facilitated.
  8. Buses should be provided each day on time, so that students can visit the market.

Though NIT Hamirpur is a wonderful place, I would very much wish for these changes to be made in its overall management.

Does my class 12 score matter if I want to clear IPM by IIM Indore?

SG
Sudipta Ghose Posted On : August 31st, 2021
Studied at Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University

Yes, your 12th class scores matter in the selection process for the course of IPM from IIM Indore as the eligibility for the IPM course is to have at least 60% aggregate in the 10th and 12th class for the General and OBC category and at least 55% aggregate for the student falling under the SC/ST category.

Once this eligibility is fulfilled, there's no need for the 10th or 12th class marks. Then you will have an entrance followed by the GD and PI round.

Which are the good colleges available through JEE Mains which are nearly equivalent to IITs and BITS Pilani?

AS
Anushua Sharma Posted On : July 15th, 2021
Chemical Engineering, DTU (2018)

Yes, there are a good number of colleges that hold equal importance as that of IITs and BITS Pilani. Here are a few of such colleges.

  • IIIT Hyderabad: It is amongst the best in India if you want to pursue Computer science as you will find a great coding culture.
  • DTU: You will be having amazing campus culture, large and beautiful campus, great placements, and huge brand value (DCE).
  • NSIT: Similarly to DTU, you will have a great campus culture, placements, and brand value.
  • NIT Trichy/Warangal/Surathkal: These are the top NITs in the country and will provide you great placements and NIT brand tags.
  • IIIT Allahabad: Just like IIIT Hyderabad, it is great for computer science programs.
  • IIST Trivandrum: It is one of the best in the country to pursue Aerospace Engg. Although you can take admission through JEE Main, you must have cleared the JEE Advanced as well.

Overall, these colleges serve as an excellent alternative if you somehow didn’t manage to get into IITs or BITS Pilani. All these colleges consider JEE Main as the primary criteria to get admission.

How can I get my engineering degree from RGPV?

SN
Sanskar Nigam Posted On : October 31st, 2022
Mtech from Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya, Bhopal

It's simple and clear. Renew your online portal account if you have one. After logging in, go to student services and select the apply degree option. The application fee for the degree is INR 250, which must be paid via internet banking with a PNB or UBI account. You will receive your degree at your postal address within two months, which you must verify.

It's a little more difficult in offline mode. You must first make a photocopy of your entire 8-semester mark sheet and have it attested by your college principal. With that photocopied mark sheet, go to the UBI on the RGPV campus and pay the challenge fee of 250 INR, then submit your documents and a fully completed form to apply for a degree.

The entire document will be submitted to the Union Bank of India. You can wait one month for the degree to arrive at your postal address.

If you require a degree immediately, you must explain why. In that case, you will receive your degree within 2 or 3 days, but only in exceptional circumstances with valid reasons.

AJ
Advait Joshi Posted On : July 1st, 2023
Lives in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India

Both IIT Patna and IIT Bombay are well-reputed institutes in India. The CSE department is renowned for its experienced faculty, rich alumni network, best placement support, and effective classes. The courses in the Computer Science and Electronics department include compilers, machine learning, computer learning, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, and so on. Students are given both theoretical and practical knowledge. IIT Patna also has club support from the CSE field, namely NJ GATH, and Robotics. The students can effectively explore their ideas in this respective field in an innovative way. The alumni network of the CSE department is fabulous, as they give much support to the students in their studies. The opportunities are far better in the CS field than in civil engineering. So you can opt for IIT Patna.

How's the hostel life in Delhi's top colleges like IIT Delhi, NSIT and DTU?

AB
Akriti Banerjee Posted On : April 10th, 2023
lives in New Delhi

The hostel life in Delhi's top colleges such as IIT Delhi, NSIT, and DTU is generally considered to be full of roller coaster experiences. You get to interact with such a mixed crowd for the first time in your life and almost everyone here is a genius.

Your most precious memory when you will leave the college will be munching Maggie at the Maggie Baba around 3 in the morning with your friends or playing cricket at 12 midnight. You will miss the Friday night hangouts in lounges and clubs. Girls however suffer because of the curfew effective right at 9 pm. The hostels add to the overall college life experience and if you aren’t staying at a hostel, you are missing out on a lot of fun.
