TA
Tithi Aggrawal Posted On : September 27th, 2023
Founder, NextBigWhat

SASTRA is a better option for engineering in Computer Science, considering the enormous opportunities provided by the institute. CUSAT is a better option than CUSAT, the notable differences are not below:

  •  SASTRA ranked 34th among the top engineering colleges in India. SASTRA has a strong academic character and is constantly ranked among the top universities in India.
  • The university has a different pupil population and offers a range of undergraduate and graduate programs. There are several chances for students to take part in technology activities
  • In terms of placement, SASTRA provides higher offerings than CUSAT.

The table below gives a brief level of comparison between the two institutes.

Particulars

CUSAT 2023

SASTRA 2023

Average Salary Offered (CSE)

Microsoft, IBM, TCS

  • Shenbaga Prasanna (Senior SDE at Amazon, Bangalore), Murali Krishna Yadav ( System Engineer at Tata Consultancy Services) and many more established professionals are the notable alumni of this association.

Therefore, SASTRA will be a better choice than CUSAT based on these facts. Although there are advantages to both universities, SASTRA stands out for its reputation for academic brilliance, extensive extracurricular possibilities, and state-of-the-art facilities.

What should I take a CSE at IIITD or a CSE at IIT Ropar or IIT Dhanbad?

KC
Kiran Chugh Posted On : January 13th, 2021

IIT institutions will always have a better tag in terms of reputation and value of degree when it comes to choosing between any other universities. Although IIT Patna and IIT Dhanbad are fairly new branches of IIT, the services and quality of education is rapidly improving and has become almost equivalent to some of the old IIT institutes.

Faculty at IIITD is much better than the IITs but one of my friends opted for IIT Patna seeing the ‘IIT’ tag. The CSE branch is constantly improving every year and choosing an IIT campus will ensure a diverse, highly academic and comparatively better peer group to be part of.

The table below shows a brief overview of the institutes:

Particulars

IIIT Delhi

IIT Ropar

IIT Dhanbad

NIRF Ranking

55

22

15

Placement Percentage

98.96%

97.50%

90.23%

Average Package

17.43 LPA

15.85 LPA

10 LPA

Features:

IIT Dhanbad and IIT Ropar offer much better campus with modern infrastructure, updated lab facilities, excellent faculty members, huge library resources, good hostel facilities and more.

Student Life:

IIT campuses are clearly known for conducting the best extra-curricular activities and events. They conduct cultural fests, workshops and seminars as part of the teaching module and also have multiple inter-disciplinary activities across the semester.

Branches:

  • IIT campuses offer a higher number of branch specializations and also offers programs in niche subjects, which gives students more options to choose from based on their choice of study.
  • The institutions are backed by research facilities to encourage students to take up research as part of their module if preferred.

Placements:

  • The placements at IIT are much more diverse in terms of number of companies and types of companies that take part.
  • They offer much more job opportunities with core companies within the CSE department.
  • Some of the top recruiters are Amazon, Capgemini and Adobe.

Therefore, given a choice, students must choose to opt for an IIT campus as compared to IIITD. Delhi has an advantage due to its location but IITs surpasses all the factors.

Can I get a seat in computer science in Amrita Coimbatore of my rank is 2299?

SS
Samita Saha Posted On : July 31st, 2021
CS from Amrita University, Amritapuri

It is difficult to predict with accuracy. I have a friend who is an alumnus of the institute and he was able to shed some light on the admission process of the institute. Here is what he had to say.

  • You have to apply via AEEE rank, JEE rank, or SAT rank.
  • You will need to choose your preferred choice (branch+campus) by a specific date.
  • After the mentioned deadline a trial allotment is done. You will be notified about the programs that you might be eligible for. Based on this feedback you can adjust your specified choices. This also has a deadline.
  • After the revised deadline the final allotment is done in multiple phases. The number of phases is determined by the university.

You should monitor the seat availability status to get a better idea. For more information regarding the admission process, you can visit the official website or reach out to the current students. Hope this helps.

How is Presidency University, Bangalore for a B.Tech?

SP
Sanket Pandey Posted On : November 15th, 2022
Former Industry Analyst

The course and the faculty are the two main reasons why this is an excellent college for B-Tech. The course is extremely well-designed and jam-packed with useful information. This gives them an advantage over other institutes. The faculty is also outstanding. They are among the best teachers I have encountered, and this pattern holds true across all streams.

The management is strict and imposes strict rules and regulations, but are they correct in doing so? They want a 75% acceptance rate, which is not very high. And believe me, the lectures are so interesting that most of the students in my batch, including myself, attend at least 90% of the time.

Attend the lectures, and you won't have to spend any extra time studying. Anyway, returning to the main topic, yes, this is a good college B-tech program, as well as many other courses.
