PC
Prodorshita Chatterjee Posted On : July 26th, 2021
Studied at IIT Kharagpur (2019)

IIT Madras is one of the best institutes in India to offer an online B.Sc degree with the flexibility of completing the course in 6 years.

  • The course fees are very reasonable. There is a special 75% fees concession provided to the students with low-income backgrounds, thereby giving them a chance to pursue their careers.
  • At the end of the program, many universities conduct web-based exams in which cheating is impossible. They are kept under the strict supervision of the invigilators.
  • Regular offline quiz exams are conducted in these centers so that the students remain active and keep studying even following the online mode of study.
  • It is seen that the placements of the students pursuing BTech in CSE get very decent packages.
  • There is a high possibility of 80-90% of B.Sc. graduates getting good jobs as well.
Categories B.Sc (online) at IIT Madras
Course Fee 2.42 lakh
Average CTC 6-8 LPA

Last but not least we can say that the overall quality of an online BSc program is very good when compared to other universities or colleges.

Which is better, Delhi University or Mumbai University?

MU
Manish Upadhay Posted On : May 12th, 2022
M.A. in English (Hons.) from Mumbai University, Kalina (2017)

Delhi University is a better option. It is a central university, while MU is a state university. DU receives humongous funding from the central government. Naturally, it stands much higher than any state university including MU. It offers better education, infrastructure, and research opportunities.

DU has hardly 100 affiliated colleges. So, it’s easier for the administration to make sure the education process is smooth. MU has over 1100 colleges. Handling so many colleges, hampers the fundamentals of education, at times.

Overall, DU is more organized and offers better education and learning opportunities.

Till what number on the waiting list gets cleared at IIM Indore?

NM

Well, this is something that cannot be correctly predicted. No one can tell you the exact number till which the waiting list can get clear. If I can vaguely remember, last year the waiting list moved till 45, I am not sure though.

However, since the program is gaining more and more popularity with time, I am quite sure that this number will descend. If you are on the waiting list, I would suggest you keep your fingers crossed and hope for the best to happen.

DG
Diksha Gupta Posted On : August 13th, 2021
PGDIE at National Institute of Industrial Engineering (2018)

One of my friends recently got admission to NITIE. According to him, you should expect the following in the interview round.

GD –

  • The panel will consist of 3 persons (professors/ alums) and a group of 8 to 10 students will discuss any one topic. Topics will be related to generic or related to current issues.
  • GD timings are set to 1 min initial time, 10 min discussion, 1 min conclusion/ summary.
  • You can do 3 entries for 30 seconds each.
  • GD marks are given 60% based on communication skills, 20% group coordination, 20% knowledge.
  • GD plays a crucial role in someone's selection. So, try to summarize the GD.
  • In spite of giving only suggestions, put some facts and then discuss what you believe.

PI -

  • The interview may take place for 5- 20 mins, depending on the number of candidates in that slot.
  • Prepare a 1-minute introduction including your hometown, family background, your branch, college, final year project, summer internship, your hobbies, and achievements.
  • Also prepare for technical questions (industrial engineering, thermodynamics) or subjects related to your final year project or internship.
  • There will also be some HR questions like why NITIE, your strengths, and weaknesses.
  • They will judge you based on your communication skills, and your interest in NITIE.
  • Invest enough time while filling the application form as it will be a CV for the process.

Last but not the least, be confident and cooperative with the panel.

Is KIIT a good college in terms of education and faculty?

SD
Salini Dasgupta Posted On : July 25th, 2023
studied at Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (2020)

Yes, KIIT is a great college in terms of both education and faculty. One of my friends completed his BTech in Civil Engineering from KIIT and was glad of his decision. The faculty base comprises a mix of highly learned professors and fresh post-graduates generally from IITs or other reputed colleges. But the major issue here is the quality of students getting admission here. KIIT usually averages students who could not make it into other engineering colleges.

No matter how good the teachers are, the level of education can never be great if the students are average and have no interest in studying. Because of the luxurious life the institute offers, students have started taking faculty and education in general for granted. They can be seen frequently skipping classes and exams. This carefree approach toward studies is causing major problems and is destroying the academic ambiance as well as the career of many.

Owing to such an attitude on the part of students, the professors too have little interest in teaching. They dont run behind students and have found comfort in their laid-back attitude. So, the faculty although good is of no use if the students are not willing to extract benefits from them.

How is the placement at Reva University?

TR
Tania Rai Posted On : October 4th, 2021
B.Tech Electrical and Electronics Engineering,REVA University (2021)

Joining REVA University through COMED-K or management quota is a complete waste of money. You will be paying 3.5 lakhs per year which is not worth it. You will get many better colleges.

If you are considering it via CET, I would suggest you not opt for the university. Try for other better colleges.

The college does not publish its placement reports on its website because it is not good. You can ask about it from the seniors of the college and you will find out that only 20-30% of the students get placed.

The teaching faculties are mostly freshly M.Tech passed out students and hence, lack experience. The student intake for B.Tech is 3000-4000 students in every batch which is way higher when compared to other colleges which usually have an intake of around 900 students.

Is nit manipur worth joining?

AP
Anupam Pandey Posted On : May 27th, 2021
studied B.Tech Mechanical Engineering at NIT Manipur (2021)

My cousin’s brother is currently pursuing his B.Tech from NIT Manipur (2018-2022). Before joining, he was also going through the same dilemma, however, now he has had enough experience to share his honest opinions.

  • Infrastructure: It is one of the newly established NITs, hence, the campus is still under construction and developing as the years are passing. Currently, the college has been run temporarily at Langol Campus. Thus, there is a lot more scope of improvement in this area for now.
  • Faculty: There is nothing so exceptional about the faculty. Overall, you can find both excellent and average professors. To mention, Chemistry department is one of the best.
  • Peers: You will not be disappointed with the crowd as most of them are talented and intellectual. A healthy competition will drive you to perform better too! The helpful and supportive seniors are the cherry on top.
  • Library: You can find most books there however if you want advanced books, you need to visit the Takyel Campus.
  • Sports & extracurricular: The annual sports event hosts various sports like cricket, kabaddi, kho-kho, chess, carom, etc. You can also enjoy the annual cultural fest OUGRI which is fantastic where almost the whole Imphal participates.
  • Mess: Earlier it was worse, however, it got somewhat better after strikes by the students. Still, better be prepared.
  • Placements: Just like every engineering institute, the CSE branch enjoys the best placements. You can grab packages up to 18 LPA by big companies like Microsoft. The second highest placements are enjoyed by Mechanical followed by core branches like ECE & EE.

All in all, being a part of NIT Manipur is a mixed bag of experiences. Despite issues like food and campus, you’ll always find your way out as you make friends with different talents from across India.
