Can I get into NLSIU with just a month's preparation? I want it bad and I'm ready to do whatever it takes and work to the best of my abilities.

NLSIU picks the crème-de la crème of the aspiring students and people put in a year or two just to prepare for CLAT to crack the top list. It is not possible for you to prepare just in a month and crack the top 75 in CLAT.

However, if you still do want to try, do the following things and add a little confidence in yourself and you might just win this one:

  • Sign up for the test series.
  • Take regular mock tests
  • Analyze your results and work on areas that you are weak in
  • DO NOT take up any crash course, they are not very helpful
  • Study for not less than 14 hours in a day
  • Focus on Logical and Legal questions
  • Read explanations to all the answers where you go wrong
  • Attempt more questions that are similar to the ones you get incorrect
  • Revise difficult concepts daily and not-so-difficult concepts once a week
  • Practice with a lot of mock tests and get guidance from someone who has recently appeared for the exam, get insights, and incorporate them in your prep strategy.

Work hard and you might just pull it off!

Is the IISER aptitude test as difficult as the JEE Advanced?

AM
Abhinav Mishra Posted On : September 20th, 2022
BS-MS from Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Pune (IISER-P)

No, the IISER aptitude test isn’t as difficult as JEE Advanced. It has a similar difficulty level as JEE Main. The one thing that differentiates IAT from other entrance examinations at this level is that it imposes equal weightage for all four sections, i.e. Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, and Biology.

Questions asked in the Mathematics sections are conceptual but doable. The difficulty level is less than JEE Advanced but slightly above JEE Main. Physics questions are easier than JEE Main. You just need basic problem-solving skills, to score well. Chemistry questions are comparable to JEE Main level. Biology section is very easy to score.

What would be a better option for a current CS student at Mumbai University a Masters from a decent IIT or an MS abroad in the US?

TG
Tridha Gupta Posted On : July 18th, 2022
B.Tech from Indian Institute of Technology, Indore

It depends on your future plan. If you want good salary packages after your master's, then doing an MS from the US will be better. Landing a good job with a decent salary package after master's will be difficult in India, except maybe some old IIT. While the scope for work after doing an MS from the US is huge. Many major MNCs have their headquarters in Silicon Valley. The job profiles offered are also comparably better there. But doing an MS from the US is no mean feat. It’s expensive and risky.

If you are interested in pursuing research, you should do your research under the guidance of a good professor. Go through the website of different reputed universities around the world and look through the profile of the professors from your field. Look at their publications, talk to some of their students, and find out how active they are in research. These are some of the important aspects of choosing a guide.

How are the faculties of NIT Trichy in instrumentation and control engineering?

ra
rimjhim arora Posted On : February 8th, 2024

I must tell you that the faculty of all NITs is quite similar.

You might be disappointed at the faculty of NIT Trichy or any other top engineering college. This is because the bar of your expectations will be high after clearing such a competitive exam. But don’t worry, you’ll really like some of the teachers from the Instrumentation and Control department. You’ll want to attend their lectures.

Make sure to have friendly relations with your seniors. They will tell you a lot about the different faculty members. Moreover, be consistent in your self study routine and take help from online resources. Don’t expect the faculty to spoon feed you.

Is Anna University's counselling different for CBSE and matriculating students?

GV
Gomathi Venkat Posted On : December 1st, 2022
B.Tech. in Industrial Biotechnology ,Anna University, Tamil Nadu, India (Graduated 2008)

No, the counselling procedure is the same for both CBSE and matriculating students. You will be counseled in the batches as per your cut off. But the cutoff calculation procedure is different for CBSE and matriculating students.

For State Board students Cut off= (math/2) + (phy/4)+(chem/4)

For CBSE students Cut off= (math) +(phy/2)+(chem/2)

Apart from this CBSE students get normalisation as it’s difficult to get such high cut offs. Under this, usually 5 marks are added to your cutoff.
