IIT BHU is a better choice than VJTI, SPCE, and COEP. But it totally depends on you; if you have a keen interest in the electrical or mechanical field, then go with the other options. At IIT BHU, you will have the advantage of a branch change policy; you can switch to the CSE department if you strive very hard. How should someone prepare for NEET-PG/AIIMS-PG/JIPMER-PG/PGIMER/SGPGIMS/NIMHANS right from 1st year of MBBS?

VS
Vaishali Sinha Posted On : May 10th, 2022
studied at Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery Degrees

During the 1st year of your MBBS, you should try to read the textbooks and build up basic concepts.

  • Go through Dr. Najeeb Lectures and make notes from them. The time you invest going through these lectures will be worth it.
  • Other than Dr. Najeeb Lectures, you can follow Guyton for Physiology. BDC and Gray’s Anatomy for Anatomy and Lippincott for Biochemistry.
  • Buy some MCQ books and start solving them, only when you have a decent grasp of the concept.

Randomly solving MCQ, right from the beginning won’t do any good. First, you should clear your concept, this will help you solve the problems efficiently. These examinations usually require you to apply the knowledge of 3-4 subjects in a single question. You should know how to apply the knowledge of the basic subjects to it.

Is SVNIT civil good?

AS
Amit Sharma Posted On : January 6th, 2024
Studied at NIT Surat

SVNIT offers a good B.Tech Civil Engineering program.

The Structural Engineering lab and the Fluid Mechanics lab are well-made and well-equipped. You’ll perform some experiments over there, and the experience will be good.

The faculty for Structural Engineering course has a lot of experience. They teach in a very professional manner, and create a brilliant understanding of important concepts. As for Fluid Mechanics and Hydraulics, the professors teach concepts like channel flow, fluid flow, computational fluid dynamics, etc. in an amazing manner.

You’ll use MATLAB to code for CFD, and the experience will be very enriching. All these classes have been really helpful in building my fundamentals. As for surveying, the teachers plan a week-long trip for two semesters wherein you’ll be visiting the mountains to plot contours.

The professors are very helpful and supportive for the final year project-work. They offer every possible guidance from their side. The final year projects are very interesting, for example, wind tunnel tests in which you can operate a wind tunnel. There are other subjects like costs and estimation, environmental engineering, construction project management, etc. as well.

The classroom teaching is really good, and you’ll learn a lot from the faculty. For someone who is passionate about Civil Engineering, SVNIT is an ideal place.

RP
Ritika Pal, Posted On : November 8th, 2021
B.Tech on CSE from REVA University (2019)

According to the reviews I read online, most of the students have supported Reva University over Sai Vidya Institute of Technology. There are many things that come into consideration like:

  • The faculty is very important while considering a college. Reva University has a highly experienced faculty who are very helpful and cooperative as well.
  • By their proper guidance students at Reva have known to become very successful.
  • The Course curriculum is as per industry interface as compared to any college which is regulated by the other long distance university like Sai Institute is regulated by the VTU.
  • Life at Reva is said to be more exciting than any other college.

Therefore, it is suggested that you go for Reva University over Sai Vidya Institute of Technology, as it will offer you better opportunities in your career ahead.

Where are some housing living accommodation options for a girl attending JBIMS at Churchgate?

PS
Pranay Singh Posted On : March 3rd, 2023
MBA Guitarist

You have the option of staying in the girls' hostel at the Mumbai University Campus in Kalina. A classmate of yours moved there in the second semester and reported having a positive experience. Here are some of its key features:

  • You can easily access the university canteen which is located just a minute away from the hostel.
  • The campus itself is well-maintained with plenty of green spaces and your hostel is located near the main gate.
  • You can take a shared rickshaw to Santacruz Station, which is just a 5-8 minute ride away. From Santacruz to Churchgate, you can travel by train in approximately 40 minutes. Additionally, it is a 5-minute walk or a 2-minute taxi ride from the station to the college. Thus, you can expect an hour of travel time from the hostel to JBIMS.
  • Each person is assigned their own room and there is no need for sharing.
  • The Business District Centre (BKC) is located just 10 minutes away from the university.
  • You can visit the American Library, which is located 15 minutes away, and study for hours while accessing their vast collection of books for free.

This information should be useful for you in making a decision. There is also another Diamond Awa hostel, but it is only available to students with a direct relative in the army. For more information on this hostel, it is recommended that you conduct a search on Google.

To what extent does college name matter. Should I drop this year, or join IIIT Delhi CS?

AB
Akriti Banerjee Posted On : October 7th, 2023
lives in New Delhi

Dropping a year would not be a wise decision if you are genuinely interested in CSE, and have an option of joining IIIT Delhi. I don’t think the college name matters to the extent that you would be giving up on the chance of joining IIIT Delhi CS. In fact, it’s slowly making its own name and in a few years will be among the top engineering colleges in India. Moreover, your UG college is just a stepping stone and its brand name won’t matter much and does not correlate with one’s success.

Joining IIIT Delhi will open doors to multiple opportunities like working on big projects, exploring hobbies, and traveling. If you choose to take a drop year, you will be struggling again with the same exam just to get a better rank. Personally, I don’t think these exams are authentic measures of an individual’s aptitude for computer science.

A close friend of mine was in a similar dilemma and was about to take a drop year when his mother persuaded him against the decision he finally decided to join IIIT Delhi and later realized it to be the best decision of his life. The 4 years were an ethereal experience allowing him to explore his research interests, learn and apply what’s new in computer science, and grow as an individual. So, in your case too, taking a drop year isn’t advisable.

Why does IIIT Delhi keep on increasing fees every year for everything? When will this hike stop?

RT
Raktim Tarafdar Posted On : October 7th, 2023

IIIT Delhi was initially established as a State University on a self-sustainable model. Although the Government has provided the land and the capital the University needs a lot of funds to sustain itself in the long run. The cost increases every year due to inflation and so to maintain the balance, IIIT Delhi is left with no option but to increase its fees.

However, IIITD has provisions for fee waivers for students with weak economic backgrounds. Students are also allowed to work as TAs or interns with faculty and receive compensation given that you have an excellent academic record.

So, the hike will not stop in the near future given the fact that IIIT Delhi is still in its developing phase.
