Which is the better university between Saveetha and Vel Tech universities?

NG
Nidhi Goswami Posted On : September 22nd, 2021
CSE from Saveetha University (2021)

A few of my friends graduated from Saveetha University and Vel Tech University and based on their experience I will say Saveetha University is better than the Vel Tech engineering college.

Saveetha University is the best because the college environment is excellent and has good faculty, good communications skills trainers. The college infrastructure is good with more labs, good teaching, and a friendly environment. The teaching methodology employed is quite good. There are only smart board classes.

Placements are way better at Saveetha University as compared to Val Tech. According to the recent placement trends around 91% of students get placed from Saveetha University.

Saveetha University is overall a better choice in terms of infrastructure, faculties, and placements.

Which is better: SRM, HINDUSTAN, SASTRA, GITAM university?

DB
Dhruv Banerjee Posted On : September 18th, 2023
SRM Institute of Science and Technology

I am a student at SRM, so I will tell you particularly about my university.

SRM is a highly-graded university with experienced faculty, rich academics, and a good campus life. My experience of SRM has been quite pleasant up till now. You’ll learn a lot at this place, and develop excellent communication skills. You’ll be given good projects.

This university has a highly diverse population and a multidisciplinary approach to studies. It has a good reputation and a decent placement record. IT and CSE students get on-campus placements for sure. However, for Aerospace, only 1 or 2 companies visit the campus with job offers. Companies like Byjus and Jaro Education offer around 13 LPA and are open to all engineering branches.

I would personally recommend SRM for your studies as it offers an all-around development with decent placements.

Which college should I choose between NMIMS Mumbai and IIFT Kolkata for MBA?

SM
Sunayana Mukherjee Posted On : August 23rd, 2022
studied at Indian Institute of Foreign Trade

NMIMS Mumbai is a better option among these, especially for Finance specialization. Located in Mumbai, the Finance capital of the country, it offers huge locational advantages. Many big names in the Industry take part in NMIMS Mumbai placements. Infosys, Accenture, Aditya Birla Capital, etc. took part in the 2022 placement drive. The average CTC offered to students this year was INR 19.40 LPA.

NMIMS focuses on hands-on learning. Various learning resources offered by the institute includes Bloomberg labs, access to a huge repository of market data and e-journals, WeCare internship program, etc.

Although NMIMS has a large alumni base, in terms of facilities, and exposure, it is better than IIFT Kolkata.

Which college is better for MCA, MIT Pune, VIT Pune or Indira Pune?

AC
Abhinav Chowdhury Posted On : October 17th, 2023
Lives in Pune, Maharashtra, India

Indira Pune is not the best choice for an MCA degree. So I wouldn’t comment about it in my answer.

MIT Pune offers good academics, and VIT Pune is known for its placements and ranking. MIT offers an MCA in Management, whereas VIT offers an MCA in Engineering. MCA in management includes subjects such as Business, Finance, Cost Accounting, etc. MCA in engineering revolves around engineering subjects.

If you have an interest in this degree, join VIT. But if you are simply seeking a job in the Banking/Finance sector, choose MIT.

I would personally recommend you join VIT Pune. It is an autonomous college and its syllabus is regularly updated. But you must make a choice based on your preference.

No matter what anyone says, NIT Silchar has a brand name that Nirma University does not. It’s quite an old institute so its alumni base is also strong and the placement scenario is quite promising.

Particulars

Nirma University CSE

NIT Silchar ECE

No.of Students Participate

287

112

No.of Students Recruited

277

87

Highest CTC

INR 50.15 LPA

-

Average CTC

INR 9.49 LPA

-

NIT Silchar has decent placements for the ECE, CSE, and Mechanical branches. It also has the biggest digital Library in South East Asia.

In all both institutes seem promising so go for the branch that aligns with your preferences.

Which is better, a PGDM in banking and financial services at IMI, Delhi or a PGDM general in LBSIM, Delhi?

RP
Rajan Patel Posted On : March 3rd, 2023
PGDM Finance, Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad (2018)

I can speak with certainty that PGDM at LBSIM is a far better option than PGDM in Financial services at IMI Delhi. My brother is a recent pass out from LBSIM and the following highlight of the institute are based on his personal experiences

  • The IIRF ranks LBSIM 25th among private colleges
  • It has a spectacular ROI in terms of placements and fees
  • LBSIM is famous for its student culture
  • You can get an insight into various angles of the industry you will be dealing with in the future
  • You can avail an abundance of opportunities through live projects and get to have a detailed experience in your specialization.
  • The institute prioritizes a practical approach over theoretical knowledge through academic activities outside the classroom
  • Various academic and non-academic clubs make the environment a friendly one
  • The institute boasts of a 100% placement record
  • It has an elaborate alumni network that is spread across top companies like Big Four’s, Arcesium, Marsh & Mclennan, Asian Paints, Crisil
  • LBSIM collaborates with various international universities for its student exchange program. Some of them include Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, Northern Illinois University, USA, European Higher School of Economics and Management, Bulgaria etc.
  • A unique feature of the B School is its Bloomberg Terminal which is restricted to the top B Schools like IIM B, IIM C, and FMS only.

All these points clearly state that LBSIM is a very good choice for a PGDM program.

Which one is better for MBA/PGDM Finance, NMIMS Bangalore or GIM, Goa?

AG
Akriti Gupta Posted On : June 6th, 2023
lives in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India

Both the universities, GIM and NMIMS are reputed in the field of Management education. But since you don't have NMIMS Mumbai as an option, you might give it a second thought.

When it comes to NMIMS Bangalore, GIM is a much older player in the field of PGDM. Even if we see the rankings, GIM is considered in the top 20 to 30 including IIM in the list. They have experienced faculty, very decent placement records, and a very strong alumni base.

So I would suggest not running after an umbrella institute under the NMIMS brand name and rather going for GIM.

Should I go for metallurgical engineering or chemical engineering at VSSUT in Burla?

Sapna Malik updated Posted On : October 12th, 2023

Both Metallurgical Engineering and Chemical Engineering at VSSUT are relatively new. Here are a few points of difference based on some common aspects

  • Scope: As a Metallurgical student, you can work in any metal industry after graduation. Another option is pursuing higher studies like M.Tech or MS from IITs. This branch has immense scope outside India. Chemical engineers are highly sought after because every industry needs to hire chemical engineers for pollution control and waste matter management. So in terms of scope, Chemical Engineering is better
  • Academics: The metallurgical department at VSSUT has inexperienced but enthusiastic professors. Students are offered seven internship facilities from various NITs, IITs, and National Laboratories. The quality of faculty is similar in Chemical Engineering too.
  • Placements: During its year of commencement, Metallurgy passed out with around 96% placement making it the highest in core branches. Students of this branch were recruited by companies like Vedanta Resources, Hindalco, Bhushan Steel, and Adhunik Metals. Chemical Engineering is a new branch so its placements are still lacking.

In all, both branches offer decent opportunities with chemistry offering slightly better opportunities as compared to metallurgy. This is because it's open to a wider range of companies and this branch has great scope abroad.

Why is NIT Trichy considered the best when NIT Surathkal has the best placement?

SR
Sathi Roychowdhury Posted On : March 30th, 2021
Studied at National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal

There are several reasons supporting the cause that NIT Trichy is better than NIT Surathkal, with the fact that there are unemployed M.Tech graduates even from NIT Surathkal. The table below gives a brief overview of the institutes.

Particulars

NIT Trichy

NIT Surathkal

Total Fees (B.Tech)

Rs. 5.65 Lakhs

Rs. 5.45 Lakhs

Median Salary Offered

Rs. 9 LPA

Rs. 8 LPA

One of my friends got ousted from M.Tech in NIT Surathkal due to poor marks in the beginning semester. In the next year, he got into NIT Trichy and successfully secured a PSU job in placement. On the other hand, there were several students from that batch of NIT Surathkal who remained unemployed.

In the batch of 2012-14, about 29 students from M.Tech were unplaced in NIT Surathkal. Even the training and placement cell and the department did not care about the failure of so many students.

There are students from NIT Surathkal who are still struggling with odd jobs in hand, and some are even unable to settle in life.

So, if you have to choose between NIT Surathkal and NIT Trichy, prefer NIT Trichy. You will get better placement and opportunities at NIT Trichy as compared to NIT Surathkal.
