What is the market value of a PG Diploma in Cyber Law from NALSAR University, Hyderabad?

SD
Saunak Dasgupta Posted On : September 3rd, 2021
NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad (2020)

My brother recently graduated from Nalsar University, so I can give you some information regarding the institute.

There is no real (job) market value of doing a PG diploma in Cyber Law from NALSAR Hyderabad if you’re a non-law graduate. This diploma won’t fetch you a cyber laws-related job or earn you a raise or a promotion.

You will find this degree useful only if you have an LLB or an LLM degree.

However, The course is great. Even if you are a non-law graduate, it will be an enriching experience for you especially if you can attend the contact classes which are normally organized by legal experts, experienced professors.

Now in the recent placement drive, the highest salary offered for PG Diploma in Cyber Law was INR 36 LPA and the average package offered was INR 6 LPA.

I got admission letter but my PCM aggregate is less than 60% (overall more than 60). I am yet to submit my marksheet, Will KIIT cancel my candidature?

AS
Ayushi Sehgal Posted On : February 15th, 2024

KIIT doesn’t cancel anyone’s candidature, as per my experience. It is a hard fact that no engineering college (except for tier 1 colleges) rejects the candidature of students based on their past academic performance. The practice of donation is followed in many government engineering colleges too.

KIIT University won’t reject your candidature. But you might not get the branch you are hoping for.

What is the Paid Seat system at Banaras Hindu University (BHU)?

AS
Anika Sinha Posted On : August 16th, 2023
lives in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India

The paid seats system is a system for students who wanted to get admission to Banaras Hindu University but were unable to secure the qualifying ranks. In such a case, he/she can choose to pay the extra fee which is called the Paid seat system. These seats are available up to 5-10 seats in all courses and are reserved as paid seats. This is for those students who got a good rank but missed the campus seat with a very less difference in index.

Procedure

  • Fill in the paid seat form online or during the counseling process. Paid seats are available both for the main campus and affiliated colleges.
  • Your chances of getting the paid seats to work on the number of available seats and your index rank. For instance, if the cutoff is 280, and your marks are in the range of 270-279 you can secure your admission to the campus.
  • The portal will release the result and you can check it on the concerned day.

Fees structure

Paid seats cost extra fees in addition to the semester fees. For example, if your course fee is Rs. 2000 and your paid seat fee is Rs. 25000 so the total fees for the semester will be INR 27000 but the fees for next semester will be the same as a regular seat.

For more information, consider checking the notice board regarding the fee structure for further reference

What are some suggestions to crack the AILET for an LLB to get admission into NLU Delhi?

HR
Harsh Ranade Posted On : September 13th, 2021
B.A.LL.B (Hons.) from National Law University,Delhi (2024)

AILET is a very unique exam among all law entrance tests with few characteristics. One of my cousins graduated from NLU Delhi. Let me share some things I got to know from her, which might be useful.

  • The average attempt time per question is the same as CLAT (36 sec), the scope for experimentation is quite less since the test is 90 min long.
  • Being a paper-based test, marking answers on OMR sheets can be time-consuming.
  • The upside is to flip pages and glance through multiple questions in one go. Use this to your benefit.
  • The LA section is mostly marked by the assertion-reasoning type of questions. This feature is not as regular in CLAT and AILET. So keep practicing.
  • Unlike CLAT math, AILET does not ask much. Most questions need a few steps of calculation to get to the answers. The selection of questions is important here.
  • AILET GK is generally based on your overall knowledge about current trends, your subject, etc.

These are some things I got to know from my friend on how to prepare for AILET for an LLB degree at NLU Delhi.

Why is IIT Kharagpur Electrical Engineering department so deadly? How do they differ from others' IIT Electrical Department?

AC
Anumita Chatterjee Posted On : March 22nd, 2023
Studied at Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (IITK)

My brother had offers from IITs to choose any branch except CSE and chose Electrical Engineering in IIT KGP. To date, he does not regret his decision. There are ups and downs in every Institute; it just takes time to adapt yourself to such situations.

It is true that some professors overdo it and push you to the extreme, but if you look at this in a positive manner, it’s their pushing that eventually helps you succeed. There are many seniors who might make fun of your tiny efforts in the labs but trust me, today when they will look back, they will surely be regretting the time they wasted watching movies or series.

My brother told me that Electrical Engineering gave him so many friends and experiences that make him yearn for college life today. The labs are old-fashioned and lack much activity in contrast to a SigNet lab/ Power Systems lab.

  • Curriculum: The primary aim of the course curriculum offered in Electrical Engineering at IIT KGP is to impart to students tools and skills that will make it possible for them to excel in departments such as Electronics, Communication, Computers, Aerospace, and Energy.
  • Job prospects: An important point to note is that Electrical Engineering does not prepare you for a job but for higher education in the respective areas. Many people from the department pursue M.S. in Aerospace and Material Sciences.
  • Faculty: While many may not agree, the faculty is excellent except for a few. The cream faculty include Prof. D Das, Prof TKB, Prof S Patra, and Prof S Chattopadhyay among others. Interacting with them might change your opinion regarding the IIT KGP faculty.
  • Research: The research is obviously not at par with that conducted in CS or EC, but it surely does justice to the department itself.

I think it’s high time people clear misconceptions about Electrical Engineering and develop a positive opinion about it. We should stop running after jobs and companies and in turn let companies seek us.

How are the hostel rooms at vmmc?

TD
Tezal Dahiya Posted On : September 25th, 2023

I will give you some details about the boys’ and girls’ hostels at VMMC.

There are two boys’ hostels and one girls’ hostel at VMMC. The two boys’ hostels are- Old Boys’ Hostel and New Boys’ Hostel. The hostels offer AC facilities, and you can decorate your rooms as per your wish.

There is no curfew system in the hostels. A water cooler and purifier are available for each floor, and you’ll get an uninterrupted power supply. Local students have to wait for months before getting a hostel room.

Let me tell you about these hostels in detail-

Old Boys’ hostel and Girls’ Hostel:

  • These have decent two-seater rooms. Final-year students and interns get a single room for themselves.
  • Each room has only a single cupboard. The rooms aren’t very spacious, but aren’t cramped either.
  • People of the same batch share the same floor.
  • Washrooms aren’t very clean but are functional and bearable.

New Boys’ Hostel-

  • It is located across the road, in front of Gate 7, just 400 meters away from the main campus. You may get this hostel from 4th-5th sem. It has larger rooms and a greener campus. Final year students get a single room. 1st, 2nd and 3rd year students get two-seater rooms. The rooms have an attached balcony.

The VMMC hostels are quite good, and the campus is filled with greenery. You will enjoy your hostel life at this college.

How hectic is AFMC Pune?

TD
Tezal Dahiya Posted On : September 22nd, 2023

The level of hecticness at AFMC Pune or any medical college actually depends on the kind of crowd you are surrounded with. While most believe that your life becomes peaceful once the first term is over, I negate this opinion because, in reality, you will experience the most hectic life during those initial days. Once again, here, I answer what I have experienced.

A close friend shared his experience of the initial days at AFMC.

  • On the first evening, he along with his batchmates were summoned by the fresher NCO. He informed everyone about the rules and regulations they were required to follow.
  • The first day began with early morning PT before which everyone had shaved off their face and worn the PT uniform. A headcount confirmed the attendance and they were asked to run from U block to Otilia Mascarenhas Sports Ground.
  • They were then required to change and assemble to go to Central Cadets Mess in just 15 minutes. After that, they headed to their lectures.
  • After classes were over, they went back to U block and were called for evening games an hour later. Games were followed by dinner.
  • After dinner, the students assembled for the last task of the day, orientation.
  • After the orientation, their mess warden addressed them and they were finally dismissed.

Overall, the fresher term is the most hectic time at AFMC also because you haven't adjusted to the environment. But slowly the burden is reduced and you start enjoying your college life.

How much time does JNTUK take to process an OD application?

AC
Anupama Chauhan Posted On : August 3rd, 2023
studied at International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad

The time taken by JNTUK to process your OD application solely depends on your luck. My brother had applied at the end of the year around December and did not receive it even after two months while his friend applied for it quite late and received it through post before him. His application status showed pending so he decided to call JNTUK but they refused to help him.  He then took his fee receipt and filled out an application at the campus itself and to his relief got the OD within 15 days.

So, try your luck and apply soon as the fees are increased for every convocation.

Is it worth doing an M.Tech from DTU?

Sabeer Chalana Posted On : July 5th, 2023

Whether or not you should consider doing an M.Tech from DTU depends on several factors. These factors are-

  • Brand Name- If you wish for the tag of a prestigious institution to be attached to your degree, DTU is the right choice for you. My sister had done her B.Tech from a college that is not well known, so she decided to go for her M.Tech from DTU to get the DTU tag.
  • Placements- DTU has a good placement record. This is especially true for the CS and IT branches.
  • Poor Research Environment- If you wish to go for research, DTU will disappoint you. The faculty will only be there to ‘support’, you will be on your own. The research facilities are also not up to the mark. The seniors are helpful. Overall, the environment is not very nourishing for research endeavors.

Even the teaching is not up to the mark.

  • Other options- An M.Tech degree from DTU is equivalent to an M.Tech degree from a good NIT. If Delhi is the place for you, you should choose DTU or the nearest good NIT.
  • Preparation-  If you wish to go for teaching as a profession, you will get ample time to prepare for your NET/JRF during your M.Tech from DTU.

Even if you wish to go for government jobs after your M.Tech, you will get ample time for your preparation.

For hostel facilities, food, location, library, and study environment, DTU is a good university.

You must consider all these factors before choosing or not choosing DTU for your M.Tech. Overall, DTU is a prestigious and well-known university.
