What is the difference between spot admission and real time admission in CUSAT?

SG
Susmita Guho Posted On : September 27th, 2023
B.Tech Computer Science, Cochin University Of Science and Technology (2010)

In the context of CUSAT "spot admission" and "real-time admission" are terms that are sometimes used interchangeably, but they can have slightly different meanings depending on the specific context. Both the terms are explained below:

Spot Admission :

  • A candidate is often admitted to a program on the spot or right away under a spot admission method, frequently at a particular event or counseling session.
  • It often happens when a university or institution holds a special admissions session to fill open seats in a specific degree or program.
  • Spot admission refers to candidates being admitted immediately after submitting the required paperwork, paying the required fees, and fulfilling all other admission conditions.

Real-Time Admission :

  • The term "real-time admission" can signify a variety of things that include continual or instantaneous admissions.
  • It can relate to any application evaluation and rapid decision-making procedure for admission, frequently occurring in real-time or shortly after the application deadline.
  • Real-time admission may include electronic application systems, prompt application processing, and prompt notification of admission decisions.

Depending on the unique policies and practices of the institution, these phrases may be used differently in the context of CUSAT or other universities. While real-time and spot admission both attempt to speed up the admissions process, there may be differences in the specific steps and lead times.

TB
Tridiv Banerjee Posted On : June 17th, 2023
B.Tech. from National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, India (2017)

NITs do not accept NATA score for B.Arch admissions. NITs consider the score of JEE Main Paper 2 for admissions into B.Arch program.

JEE MAINS PAPER 2

ELIGIBILITY- Candidates must have scored min. 50% marks in 10+2 with Maths as a compulsory subject/min. 50% marks in 10+3 degree. Students from Arts, Commerce, and Science backgrounds can apply for this test.

The exam has two parts- Drawing Test and Aptitude Test

  • DURATION- 3 HOURS
  • TOTAL MARKS- 400 (4 marks for every correct answer; negative marking of 1.5 marks for every wrong answer)

Institutions Accepting JEE Main Paper 2 Scores-

  1. School of Planning & Architecture- Delhi, Vijayawada, Bhopal
  2. Birla Institute of Technology- Ranchi
  3. NITS- Jaipur, Bhopal, Tiruchirappalli, Calicut, Nagpur, Hamirpur, Raipur, Patna
  4. Sri Mata Vaishno Devi College - J&K

Therefore, to get admission into the B.Arch program at NIT Trichy, you must prepare for the JEE Mains Paper 2. Your NATA score can get you admission into other well-known universities, but not into NIT Trichy.

Can a dropper convert the GD/PI to an admission in Nitie? If, yes what are the consequences the person has to suffer during the span of the course and in placements?

RD
Rahul Das Posted On : August 11th, 2021
Studied at National Institute of Industrial Engineering (2018)

There are a number of students in the new sessions who hold a bit of a gap in their education. Being a dropper is not a big deal and does not possess any destructive concerns.

However, some of the companies do take it into account as a negative consequence during the placement process. But do not let your spirits down and face it head on. It’s the skills you possess that would help you to make it through the entire process.

Is it worth joining IIM Nagpur for a person who already has work experience of 3.5 years and earns an 8.3 LPA?

HN
Hardik Nagar Posted On : January 23rd, 2023
MBA in General Management, Indian Institute of Management, Nagpur (Graduated 2022)

When considering the question of which MBA program to attend, it is important to recognize that there is no definitive answer and that the decision will vary depending on the individual. There is a multitude of factors to consider before making this decision, and understanding how these factors weighed into another individual's decision-making process can be helpful in making one's own decision.

For those considering IIM Nagpur, the first factor to consider is likely to be the cost of tuition. It is not uncommon for MBA programs to come with a significant price tag, and this can be a significant factor in determining which program to attend. IIM Nagpur has a fee structure of INR 13.75 lakhs, which is significantly lower than many other options on the market. This can make a big difference for those who are taking out an educational loan, as it can free up funds for other opportunities or risks.

Another important factor to consider when looking at MBA programs is the brand value of the institution. IIMs are widely recognized as the best business schools in India, and the reputation of an IIM can open doors in the job market and throughout one's career. It is crucial to weigh in the long-term benefits that come with being associated with an IIM.

Batch diversity in experience is another important consideration, especially for those who are looking to leverage peer learning as one of the most important aspects of an MBA program. IIM Nagpur has a diverse set of students with rich experience from a variety of industries, which can open up opportunities to learn about different domains and industries that one might not have been aware of before.

Lastly, the curriculum, faculty, and culture of the school are important factors when selecting an MBA program. IIM Nagpur has a vast curriculum that is designed to closely align with the business world. Faculty are well experienced and knowledgeable in their subjects and make sure the students understand the concepts in a better way. Additionally, there is a great extent of flexibility in the electives that the students want to study. With this, students can spend the first year trying to figure out their interests and then choose electives accordingly in the second year.

Which college should I choose - IMS BHU or KGMU Lucknow?

TD
Tezal Dahiya Posted On : September 26th, 2023

In my opinion, IMS BHU is a better option than KGMU Lucknow. Here are a few strong reasons to support my opinion

  • IMS BHU is under the central government, unlike KGMU which is under the State Government. So it’s not affected by the unpredictability of different rules brought by the government.
  • IMS BHU has only a smaller batch size than KGMU which translates to better student-teacher ratio and also more exposure.
  • IMS BHU has an internal PG reservation while KGMU has a State reservation. PG reservation isn’t very appealing because most toppers choose AIIMS.
  • IMS BHU is under the central government so it offers more stipend as compared to KGMU.
  • KGMU has a more urban life while Varanaari offers a more traditional and peaceful life perfect for nature lovers.
  • IMS BHU Medical ranking by Outlook is 2 out of 13 colleges in India in 2023 while that of KGMU is 4 out of 13
  • KGMU’s biggest con is the rural service bond of 2 years for UG while IMS BHU does not have any rural service bond because it is not under the state government.
  • KGMU has a better infrastructure surrounded by a green campus.

Both the colleges are excellent in their own way but if I had to choose one, I would have chosen IMS BHU.

Is NIT Surathkal better than IIT Roorkee

PP
Pratik Parikh Posted On : April 11th, 2023
Lives in Bangalore

It would be unfair to make a comparison between NIT Surathkal and lIT Roorkee, as both institutions have their own strengths and reputations. Yet if I were asked to choose one, I would have definitely gone for IIT Roorkee as it is at a whole different level from NIT Surathkal.

Here are a few reasons that justify my claim:

  • IIT Roorkee ranks 6 among other IITs
  • It is Asia's oldest Engineering college
  • You get the tag of being an IITian
  • It has an extensive alumni network owing to its early establishment

The only condition under which I would recommend you choose NIT Surathkal over IIT Roorkee is when you are getting CSE at NIT and Metallurgy at IIT Roorkee. Else, choosing IIT Roorkee over NIT Surathkal will always be a wise decision.

How are the starting days of college in IIT Ropar? Is there a scope of ragging in IIT Ropar?

AK
Arjun Keshri Posted On : September 13th, 2021
B.Tech Computer Science Engineering,Indian Institute of Technology Ropar (2022)

According to some of my friends studying at IIT Ropar, the starting days of college consists of an Induction Programme under ISMP (Institute Student Mentorship program) in which the students are allotted a mentor for any inconveniences.

  • These mentors would be guiding the students for everything and would make students know the campus and would introduce them to the seniors.
  • Followed by this, there would be an orientation program common to all departments which would introduce students to the demo sessions of various clubs like dance, dramatics, music, fine arts, etc., and the sports facilities.
  • Apart from these, the coding, robotics, aeromodelling sessions would be held.
  • Along with these, there would be night jamming sessions and fun activities to help students get mixed up.
  • The seniors are all good and helpful.
  • The student can showcase all his/her talents in the IIT Ropar’s campus on a cultural night.
  • The environment of the college is decent and outstanding.

There is no sort of ragging which takes place in IIT Ropar. There is an Anti-Ragging community on the campus of IIT Ropar with the motto of "Ragging is crime and reward is jail". If any situation of ragging arises, he/she can directly contact the mentor or any other teacher. No kind of ragging takes place in IIT Ropar.

How good is iit gandhinagar?

Sabeer Chalana Posted On : July 27th, 2023

Honestly speaking, IIT Gandhinagar does not deserve to be in the IIT family nor does it deserve the IIT tag. I am not saying the education and placement opportunities here are pathetic but they are still far from actual IIT standards. or even top NITs and BITS.

It’s due to the Marketing tactics of the director that the institute gains such high rankings by NIRF and other ranking bodies. The internships and placement scenario is pathetic owing to the deteriorating student strength and efforts on the part of the university.

I will suggest everyone against joining this institute and ruining their career.
