What kind of placements do lawyers get after an MBA from ISB Hyderabad?
My friend is both an LLB and a company secretary. She graduated from ISB Hyderabad a few years ago and was offered a plethora of opportunities in both legal and non-legal positions. She claims the placement scenario to be beneficial. She was interviewed by 4-5 recruiters and received offers from 2 of them. She had also applied to a boutique I-Bank in Singapore and was offered a decent position there. All these clearly state the versatile opportunities a lawyer can get after doing an MBA from ISB Hyderabad.
My friend finally opted for a management consulting firm on campus. Her work revolved around the legal and financial structuring of infrastructure projects. Soon after she left the job and became a CEO of a hospital. She finally settled with her own private Legal Practice and today she helps people and companies with their legal problems. The conclusion from her career journey is that a lawyer has many opportunities post-MBA. All he needs to do is make the best out of each.
Can anyone provide an honest assessment of the placement scenario at IIM Kozhikode in the past few years?

The general management sector gets the confidence of reputed firms like RIL, Mahindra and Mahindra, Tas.
The marketing segment also has a connection with companies like HUL, ITC, Mondelez.
The finance sector is favoured by top companies like Goldman Sachs, Avendus Capital, HDFC, Yes Bank.
The IT sector enjoys the confidence of Flipkart, Google and Microsoft.
Overall IIM Kozhikode is currently doing an excellent job at offering best placements to its students.
How advantageous will it be for a person with 24 months of IT experience, in the the placements at NITIE (any stream)?
One of my friends from school is a student of NITIE and according to him, having work experience with more than 20-26 months just acts as magic numbers. It will be a great asset during the time of admissions. In NITIE, the average work experience of the IM batch usually ranges from 20 to 26 months and sometimes even higher. Moreover, there will also be high chances that you can sit for the LRP placements as well. Only consulting companies would be expected during the LRP process.

IIIT Naya Raipur CSE is a better option, in terms of placements. According to the recent placement highlights, the highest and average CTC for the branch is INR 10.5 LPA and INR 43 LPA, respectively. The placement rate for CSE is around 100%. Microsoft, Deloitte, Adobe, American Express, Ericsson, Capgemini, etc. visit IIIT Naya Raipur placements.
How is the placement of civil engineering in Jadavpur University, West Bengal?
The placement record for Civil Engineering at Jadavpur University is not great. For a decent job offer in the placement drive, you will need to top your batch or have to be within the top 10 students in your class. The initial pay scale may not be that attractive, but you can expect to receive a good CTC, once you get experience.
The initial salary package for Civil Engineering is around 3-5 LPA. The placement scenario for branches like Civil is similar in other reputed institutes like IIT KGP. Only after doing your M.Tech from reputed IITs or NITs, you can expect a good salary package. If you want to get a good job after graduation, you should start preparing for UPSC, GATE, IES, etc. If you score a decent rank in GATE, you can work for PSUs. According to some of my friends studying at NITIE Mumbai, the 12th standard marks are very important and it matters a lot during admission for graduation and placements. Having good marks in the 10th and 12th standard helps a lot but it is not the end of the world.
- Companies that visit the campus for placements have their own individual preferences.
- Some companies give preference to 12th standard marks, but this is not the case with every other company.
- Many companies give preference to college scores and recruit candidates based on their performance in personal interviews and group discussion rounds.
- Some companies also look from which tier college you belong as they only want to interview candidates who have passed out from a tier 1 college.
There are several other factors that are important for placements. Like extracurriculars, additional skills, etc. Thus your 12th standard mark isn't the last thing. A lot of other factors matter for your campus placement in NITIE.
Why are placements at IIIT Bhubaneswar so pathetic as compared to IIIT Guwahati?
There are several reasons why the placements of IIIT Bhubaneswar do not hike to the level of IIIT Guwahati. One of my friends is among the recent alumni of the institute and has a better idea about the same. Here is what he has to say.
- While IIIT Guwahati is an institute of National Importance, IIIT Bhubaneswar is not.
- IIIT Guwahati usually also has the provision of industry support from various major companies because of the status of national importance it has. It also comes under MHRD, GOI directly. IIIT Bhubaneswar doesn’t enjoy the same privilege.
- IIIT Guwahati receives funds and support directly from the central government, unlike IIIT Bhubaneswar.
- IIIT Guwahati was first established by MHRD and was among the few newer IIITs to have their permanent campus quite early.
- The peer group at IIIT Guwahati is better due to the higher cut-off as compared to IIIT Bhubaneswar.
These are the reasons behind the poor placement record of IIIT Bhubaneswar.
How is the Placement Scenario at IIT BHU?
If you are considering IIT BHU for your higher education, you should know that the institute boasts a remarkable placement record. In the year 2022, the highest international and domestic packages offered during the placements were INR 2.05 crore per annum and INR 78 LPA, respectively. Some leading companies such as Rakuten, Uber, Zeta, Microsoft SWE, and Oracle, among others, visited the campus and offered placement opportunities to the students.
Moreover, according to some unofficial online sources, the average package offered during BTech placements in 2022 was INR 30.55 LPA. For BTech CSE, the average package stood at INR 33.37 LPA and for BTech ECE, it was INR 27.73 LPA.
