Which should I choose among IIIT Lucknow, IIIT Bangalore or IIIT Delhi?
On an overall scale, IIIT Lucknow is a good option, despite being a new institute. Although, all three of these institutes are reputed. While choosing one of these, you should prioritize your choice of branch.
- Besides CS and IT, IIIT Bangalore started offering CSAI. It is a BTech in CS with an Artificial Intelligence specialization. AI is in huge demand these days.
- All three of these IIITs have decent curriculum, which is designed according to industry trends and needs.
- Despite being a new IIIT, IIIT Lucknow had good placements over the last few years. IIIT Lucknow placements 2022 had the highest CTC of INR 1.2 CPA. The placement rate for this year was 100%.
- All three colleges have good coding culture. From IIIT Lucknow, a total of 5 students were selected for GSoC 2021. IIIT Lucknow also has a Github campus expert.
These advantages make IIIT Lucknow a good choice.
Which is better, CSD at IIITD, ICE at NSIT, EE at DTU or IT at MAIT?
If you are interested in Computer Science and want to pursue MS/Ph.D. from universities abroad, after graduation, IIITD CSD is the best option for you. IIITD CSD placements are also pretty good. During the 2021 placement drive, the average CTC offered was INR 16.56 LPA.
If you find Electrical Engineering or Instrumentation and Control Engineering interesting and want to go for GATE/PSU/MTech, then choose the respective streams at DTU/NSIT. These branches aren’t usually open for most IT and coding-based jobs. For an MBA or a non-tech, career path, DTU or NSIT will be better as well.
What should I prefer for: an MTech in CSE from NITs like MNNIT Allahabad, IIIT Bangalore or IIIT Delhi?
According to the 2020 NIRF rankings, MNNIT Allahabad is ranked 48th among the top engineering institutes in India. It offers specializations in Computer Science & Engineering, Software Engineering, and Information Security.
IIIT Bangalore is ranked 62nd and offers postgraduate specializations in Theory and Systems for Computing and Data, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Networking and Communication, VLSI Systems, and Digital Society.
IIIT Delhi is ranked 56th and offers 2 years M.Tech in CSE with specializations in Information Security, Data Engineering, Mobile Computing, and Artificial Intelligence.
Admission:
- For admission in M.Tech at MNNIT Allahabad, one must have a valid score in GATE. The opening and closing rank for CSE was 678 and 639 respectively.
- IIIT Bangalore also accepts a valid score in GATE. There is no fixed cut-off, however, in 2019, admissions to M.Tech were offered up to the GATE score of 652.
- Admission for M.Tech CSE at IIIT Delhi is offered on the basis of the GATE score or qualifying degree percentage for non-GATE seats.
Course Fees:
Apart from tuition fees, there are additional fees payable for IIIT Delhi and IIIT Bangalore.
- MNNIT Allahabad: 1.13 Lakhs (1st Year Fees)
- IIIT Bangalore: 1,60,000 (Tuition fee per semester)
- IIIT Delhi: 1,85,000 (Tuition fee for AY 2019-20)
Placement:
Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Walmart, Amazon, Flipkart, Oracle, Cisco, Citrix, Samsung, Google, Microsoft, IBM, Qualcomm, Adobe, etc. are some of the companies visiting all the three campuses. So, choosing either of the institutes on the basis of visiting recruiters is not an issue.

Which should I choose, CSAM at IIIT Delhi or IT at IIIT Allahabad?
Since you know what you are looking for, it becomes quite easy to segregate categories for you to choose which place you want to go. Do all-around research and look at various categories like crowd, course curriculum as well as the faculty before making a decision. Here are some points that may help you out.
Faculty: One point where IIIT A might lag is the faculty. Being a top college, you might expect it to have some of the top-notch faculty in the country. However, it is more of a mix of government college faculty with some average teachers and others that are really well-versed in their subjects. IIIT D on the other hand has better faculty who have a rational approach to the subject of computer science. IIIT D definitely tops here.
Course Curriculum: You will find some of the best course curricula at IIIT A. You will be introduced to the subjects of computer science right from the very first semester. A major plus point is that there are no interdisciplinary subjects like ED that will be included.
Crowd: As far as crowds are concerned, both places have the same crowd. IIIT A might be slightly better as they do not hold any state-based preferences or quotas.
Coding Culture: The coding culture at IIIT A is one of the best in the country. This college is the pioneer college that represents our country in some of the most major competitive coding platforms. Just recently, 12 students were even selected for GSOC from IIIT A. IIIT D is still in its nascent days as far as coding is concerned.
Infrastructure: This is one point where both colleges are at par with each other. Both are good as far as basic amenities are concerned.
Lastly, you should know that IIIT A is a college with a national reputation. It will definitely give you the upper edge when you go for your masters. This is probably not the case with IIIT D. However, if you are looking for good faculty and a city atmosphere, go to IIIT D.
Should I take IIIT Delhi or IIT Mandi? I wish to take electrical in Mandi and CS in IIIT Delhi.
Both IIT Mandi and IIIT Delhi are excellent institutions with well-established programs in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science respectively. The decision of which one to attend should depend on your personal preferences and academic goals rather than the quality of the branch. IIT Mandi is known for its strong emphasis on research, while IIIT Delhi is known for its focus on applied technology.
Both colleges give an edge to each other in terms of placements and quality of education offered. If you aren’t certain of your preference yet, it's best to go for IIT Mandi. There are 2 main reasons why I prefer IIT Mandi to IIIT Delhi.
- Firstly, one can never underestimate the value of the IIT tag. It’s like attaching yourself to a branch for the rest of your life.
- Secondly, IIT Mandi is well known for its lenient branch change. This helps you explore multiple branches in the first year and then finalize the most preferred branch in the second year. It’s a win-win situation in either case.
However, solely relying on branch change is not wise and you should analyze other angles also.
What is the difference between IIIT Delhi and IIT Mandi, in terms of coding culture?
If you're getting IIIT H for coding, then you're definitely going to face some heavy competition although it should be your choice because of its expertise. NIRF has ranked it #43 and IIIT Delhi ranks #58, whereas IIT Mandi ranks #31 the same. Their coding culture is evolving and it can be estimated that their ICPC and GSoC are going to improve a lot in the upcoming times.
Here are some facts for you-
- IIIT Delhi was established a year before IIT Mandi. It is basically CSE-centered, with marked attention to it. IIT Mandi, on the other hand, has a lot of varied branches and so the coding culture is a bit more advanced at IIIT Delhi.
- The IIT tag is much sought after, however, being from IIIT is not a bad deal either. At IIIT D a lot of big names like Google, Amazon, Goldman Sachs, Microsoft, and Accenture come for recruitments, although your overall performance will decide your placement.
- The campus at IIIT D is quite beautiful and doesn't lack anything. It has hostels, recreation centers, dining facilities, a library, and an information center. The second phase of construction is ongoing as well.

How do I choose between IIIT Delhi and IIITDM Jabalpur?
Indraprastha Institute for Information Technology at New Delhi and Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Management, Jabalpur, are both excellent and reputed institutes for pursuing education. IIIT Delhi is a state university that provides courses in Engineering and other Sciences. It is mainly famous for its B.Tech in CS. IIITDM Jabalpur has been approved by UGC and the Ministry of Human Resource Development. It offers courses in engineering and design. The admission process is based on scores obtained in various competitive exams.
IIIT Delhi has been ranked 192 among universities in BRICS nations by QS university rankings and has been ranked as the 55th best institute in India by the NIRF ranking framework. Whereas, IIITDM Jabalpur, has been ranked at 69th place by NIRF. It has been repeatedly ranked as one of the best engineering colleges by many magazines and ranking frameworks.

Which is better, IIIT-Delhi CSE or NIT Calicut CSE?
IIIT Delhi CSE is better. Despite being a new institute, it is doing excellent in terms of academics and placements. IIIT Delhi placements ended with an average CTC of INR 19.72 LPA. The highest CTC offered was INR 1.84 CPA. Samsung, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, etc. are the major recruiters that took part in the campus drive.
IIIT D has an active research culture as well. If a career in research interests you, it is the perfect option.
Which is better: IT from NSIT, IT from DTU, or CSE from IIIT Delhi?
IT from NSIT is the best option among these.
- The student crowd is brilliant. It has a small batch size compared to DTU. So, you will face less competition.
- NSIT has an amazing pool of faculties. You will get to learn from excellent faculty members like Sangeeta Sabharwal and MPS Bhatia.
- NSIT IT placements are better than DTU and IIIT D. DTU has a better placement record for core branches. While NSIT offers better placements opportunities to CS and IT students. In the recent placement drive, the average CTC for IT at NSIT was INR 6 LPA.
- Companies like Facebook, Google hire students from NSIT from their US offices.
- Major consulting and non-tech companies like Bain, BCG, ZS Associates, etc. also visit the campus placements.
IIIT Delhi has an excellent research culture and professors from top universities like Carnegie Mellon. So, if you are interested in research, you should choose IIIT D. Overall IT from NSIT is the best option in terms of academics and placements.
Which option is better IIT Goa CSE….liit Allahabad IT IIIT Delhi CSAM?
In my opinion, choosing IIIT Allahabad IT would be the wisest decision here. The institute is well-regarded for its excellent coding culture and top-notch placements. The table below will prove my point further
