How are the hostels like at NIT Calicut? Is there a single occupancy for M.Tech students?
NIT Calicut offers decent hostel accommodations. The rooms are double or triple sharing. The institute offers basic amenities such as beds, cupboards, and tables. Hostel rooms have adequate lighting and ventilation. Bathrooms are shared by several rooms. Rooms and washrooms are cleaned regularly. The mess facilities are good. They offer a mix of vegetarian and non-vegetarian food.
M.Tech students aren’t offered single occupancy rooms, by NIT Calicut.
How is the hostel facility at NIT Goa in terms of food, internet, and cleanliness?
According to some of my friends studying at NIT Goa, their hostel facilities are not that great in all terms be it food, internet, and cleanliness.
- No one can find good food at any hostel but it at least should be hygienic.
- The internet speed is also not that great and on top of that students use that for entertainment purposes.
- When it comes to cleanliness, It is even worse than the food and the internet.
- The hostel which NIT Goa provides in the final year is the worst. It is recommended that you stay outside rather than live in the hostels like the M.Tech students.
- The only thing you need to do to stay out of the hostels is to manage the transportation, and then you are good to go.
Hence, it is quite evident that it's not worth staying in the NIT Goa hostels and a student should prefer to stay out as paying guests or flats.
What is the hostel facility in NMIMS Bangalore?
The hostel facility at NMIMS Bangalore is not great. I have a friend at NMIMS who has many complaints about the facilities provided at the hostel.
Here is some information based on his experience at the institute.
- Hostel Fee: If you are going to the UG hostel the fees will be 180000 and food, room, transportation, laundry, and other house services are included.
- Food: The food offered in the hostel is moderate, nothing special, and the menu is repeated weekly. At times, food is the same during lunch and dinner.
- Rooms: The rooms are too packed and there is very little free space to move around. It barely fits two single beds with very little space to walk between them and has no ventilation. Fresh air or sunlight barely enters the rooms and the neighbors can see you through the window. Some of the rooms don’t even have curtains for privacy.
- Curfew: The hostel comes with a lot of restrictions and the curfew timing is 9 pm. In case of emergency or extreme situations, the hostel won’t let you out whatsoever. Even with the permission of the parents, they make you go through a lot of trouble just so you can leave after 9 pm or you enter after 9 pm. The hostel is in the outer skirts and also you have fewer transportation modes available at night. It is situated far from the main city and market thus making it difficult to reach if anything is needed urgently.
At the same price, you can get a better pg or private hostel.
How are the hostels of Thapar University?
Thapar University offers hostel facilities to the enrolled students which are spread over a large area of land. You can opt for two-seaters, three-seaters, and four-seaters rooms as per your requirements and budget.
- The hostels are divided into several blocks. All of the blocks have been well constructed with plantations everywhere.
- The hostel rooms are spacious and will not cause any sort of trouble to you during your stay there.
- There are a total of six hostels at the university. Each one of the hostels has high-speed internet (Wi-Fi) connectivity, geyser in every room, 24 hours power supply, Water purifiers, clean bathrooms, etc.
- A Gym facility is also available for students along with several halls and courts for sports, cultural and extracurricular activities.
- An in-house marketplace is also available which has a variety of shops. The students can even opt for in-house laundry services at the university.
- The mess food is of good quality and is made hygienically under supervision keeping in mind the health of the students.
- If you want to study, you can go to the Reading room.
One of my friends is pursuing his B.Tech from Thapar University and he used to stay in one of the hostels of the university. He has had a very good time there.
Which hostel does the IPM girls in IIM Indore stay?
I have a few friends from IIM Indore and I learned about the hostel accommodation, on-campus through them.
As mentioned by my friends, the girls from their first three IPM years are given to stay at a recently established Student Residence 10, also known as SR - 16. It is in front of the cricket stadium.
On the other hand, the girls from both IPM fourth and fifth years stay with the PGPs in the SR 11 - 14. The hostel is adjacent to the SR - 18, i.e. the IPM Boys Hostel.
What are some hostels or PGs near Sharda University, Greater Noida?
If you don't want to stay at the campus hostel there are some good hostels and PGs near Sharda University. You can choose them based on your requirements. I will suggest you stay in Gamma-I or Beta-I. These two sectors are very close to Sharda University.
- Gamma-I has the biggest market Jagat farm of greater Noida. You can find anything easily there.
- Beta-I is located opposite of Gamma-I.
- Living at any of these two sectors will be great as you can easily get direct auto rickshaws to Sharda University. The fare is also quite cheap.
- If you are unable to get into these two sectors you can go for Alpha-I. This sector is also well connected.
My suggestion is to stay in any of these three sectors I mentioned above. Don't stay at PGs. Most of the PGs near the college are not that good. The only good hostel near the college is the GN hostel.
What are the hostel facilities for girls in Dayanand Sagar College Of Engineering?
My colleague used to stay in the My Roomie Hostel near Dayanand Sagar College of Engineering. There are many hostels near the institute but they are not comfortable. You might have to look for a PG as well. Decide only after that regarding where you'd want to stay.
However, ‘My roomie Hostel’ is an impressive place to stay because of the following:
- The team is friendly and has cordial behavior. My friend’s visit was very warm and welcoming.
- The most eye-catching thing is the Community area. You can play games like- Pool Table. It has a mini gym as well. You can also engage in competitions in the zone area and organize events like birthday celebrations and festivals.
- It is clean, comfortable, with a colorful atmosphere, which is also in Bangalore.
Overall, you will enjoy being a part of the hostel atmosphere if you choose it. My colleague recommends it to everyone going to DSCE.
How are the NICMAR hostels allotted? Should I pay the hostel fee earlier to ensure I get the ultima hostel?
NICMAR is a renowned institute for PGP construction and other allied industries, equivalent to MBA in construction management.
The institute offers various facilities like a library, internet, hostels for boys and girls, and a well-established infrastructure.
There are four hostels by the institute. Boy’s hostels with a single room occupancy of 1100+ boys, and girl’s hostels have 194 rooms in shared occupancy.
The hostel rooms in NICMAR are allotted based on the merit lists. So, nothing is in your hands. However, it is always better to pay an advance fee. You might get an edge over the candidates with overlapping scores like yours.
What are some hotels to stay in, near NIT Trichy?
One of my friends stays nearby Tiruchirappalli. According to him, unfortunately, NIT Trichy is located in a place called Thuvakudi which is at a distance of 20 km and 40 km from Trichy and Thanjavur respectively.
- There are only villages around the college which means you won't get any hotels nearby.
- You might have to stay in one, as it is one of the many options provided by Trichy.
- The nearest hotel is pretty good, it is Hotel Grand Gardenia. You can check it out from the traveling websites.
- Also, there are a lot of other cheap hotels within 200 m of the bus stand.
- Sangam is one of the best hotels in Trichy. It is also quite near to the main bus stand.
- SRM is also equally good.
- For your stay in Trichy, Ramya's Hotels is the best hotel which is near to the Railway Station and Central Bus Stand.
- They have different types of rooms according to the guest's expectations.
- They provide all types of facilities like free wifi, heater, room service, valet car parking, etc.
The majority of the hotels are present in Trichy city whereas NIT Trichy is about 18 km from the main city. It approximately takes one hour to travel. So, if you wanna choose the best hotels in Trichy simply select Ramyas Hotels.
What is life at NIT-Arunachal Pradesh like? How are the girl's hostels? What type of rooms do they have and what is the mess food like?
Overall, NIT Arunachal Pradesh offers satisfactory campus life. Hostel facilities are decent. The campus has two hostels for girls. Rooms are spacious. The hostel has 24 hours wifi and LAN facilities.
The mess food won’t be satisfactory in terms of taste but it is hygienic and clean. On Thursdays, and Sundays, the mess menu is better, it includes paneer and chicken, respectively.
