NEET 2021 Question paper was prepared as per the revisions in the pattern by NTA. The paper comprised 4 sections - Physics, Mathematics, Zoology, and Botany, instead of the three sections (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) of the previous exam pattern. The number of questions in the paper was also increased to 200, with internal choices for candidates in Part B of each section. However, the number of questions to be attempted by the candidate and the maximum marks of the paper remained the same at 180 Questions, and 720 marks respectively.
A total of 16.15 lakh candidates registered for NEET 2021 examination and candidates qualified the exam by clearing NEET Cut off became eligible for the admission process. NEET 2021 Question Paper Analysis
NEET 2021 was conducted on September 12, 2021. The candidates reported the overall difficulty of the paper to be moderate. Each section of the paper had 50 Questions, the section-wise NEET Paper Analysis is given below.
Physics
- The level of difficulty of this section was difficult, especially the questions from Optics, Semiconductors, and Photoelectric Effect were tricky.
- The section featured more numerical than the previous year’s questions (about 70% increase).
- Mechanics (26%) and Electrostatics and Electricity (22.0%) had the highest weightage in the paper.
Chemistry
- The chemistry section was moderate in terms of difficulty.
- Questions were largely based on named equations, reactions, and numerical.
- Inorganic chemistry (42%) had the highest weightage in the paper.
Botany
- The botany section was moderate difficulty-wise
- Most of the questions were fact-based, with no questions asked from out of the bounds of the NCERT syllabus.
- Genetics had the most weightage in the section, with 12 Questions being asked from it.
Zoology
- The zoology section was also moderate in difficulty
- Biotechnology was the dominant topic, featuring 11 Questions in the section.
- Few questions, such as 1 MCQ on earthworm, required in-depth knowledge and understanding of a topic in NEET Biology Syllabus.
