Being the Principal of Graduate School Of Business, what is your philosophy of leadership and describe your leadership style?

“To motivate students through appreciation and set examples by standardizing the work through my leadership style”

A leader is looked upon by his or her subordinates for guidance regarding their approach at workplace. The attitude of a leader towards subordinates or peers is very important. To make they follow your ideals, it is very necessary to set an example. A leader herself has to be committed towards the work need to fulfill the allotted work with honesty, and respect timeline. A leader is expected to motivate the juniors by appreciating their small contribution towards the organization. In their good or bad, they look forward to the leader to stand behind them. About my leadership style, I believe in setting examples by standardizing the work and giving 100 % to the given task.

“Identify basic requirements and work on them accordingly”

Key programs and plans are necessary to execute the ideas properly as desired. Keeping that in mind, we plan the strategies for the institution. The plan should flow from ideas to delivery. Any insights into how your institute could be more welcoming to students of different races or economic backgrounds?

“Multicultural environment and diverse perspectives welcome all students from different races”

Admissions officers believe diversity in the classroom improves the educational experience of students. More diverse perspectives found in the classroom, richer the discussions will be and more creative the teams will become. Learning and growing in this multicultural environment will prepare students for working in our increasingly multicultural and global world. Diverse college campuses offer more worldviews for students to consider and engage with. College students can learn from peers with different perspectives shaped by a variety of experiences. The interaction between students with different worldviews can help change minds or shape ideas. Their learning is elevated to a different level because they can appreciate and understand from someone from a different background, which may change their thinking.

What are some of the biggest challenges you see for higher education in general and campus?

“Shortage of faculties, inadequate focus on research are our greatest strengths”

Our institutions run by the public sector suffer from poor physical facilities and infrastructure.

Faculty shortages and inability of the state educational system to attract. Well qualified teachers have been posing challenges to quality education for many years. Large numbers of NET / PhD candidates are unemployed. There are a lot of vacancies in higher education, and deserving candidates are applying in other departments is a big blow to the higher education system. As per the data provided by the NAAC, only 30% of the universities and 45% of the colleges were found to be of quality to be ranked. Research and Innovation is an inadequate focus on research in higher education institutes. There are insufficient resources, facilities, and limited numbers of quality faculty to advise students. Most of the research scholars are without fellowships or not getting their fellowships on time which directly or indirectly affects their research. Moreover, Indian Higher education institutions are poorly connected to research centers. So, this is another area of challenge to higher education in India.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth and the aspiring students?

“Think before acting, be positive and manage several activities to achieve your dream”

Do not be a follower, and avoid being part of the crowd. Without being a loner, you can separate yourself from the group of people who are not involved in positive things. Avoid following popular trends that could lead to a high-risk lifestyle, such as becoming so obsessed with materialism. Think before you act to help you avoid making critical mistakes. It costs you freedom, education or your life and thinking ability will safeguard you.
