Every year we stay connected with thousands of new students. My duty is to make them socially responsible citizens, entrepreneurs, professionals and humane. The transformation is well noted when we happen to come across old students happy for being associated with this noble profession, teaching and more. We try to give our best to the young generation and opportunity to grow in tune with time. Education plays a significant role in making the global village a transformative one. Moreover, the education sector is the parent for all the other sectors from which laurels are coming up.

Challenges in the education sector are mushrooming and demand continuous learning and growing. Growth of individuals, departments and institutions as a whole depends on the learning process. It helps to warrant development of the society. New facets of necessity in learning to keep oneself updated and stay ahead followed by us. Also, growth is possible only through team-spirit among peer groups and across the hierarchy. Hence, the need for growing together is more important for development in all spheres. Learning needs to encompass psychology and technology. Between learning and growing, there comes the unlearning process that contains no room for institutional growth.
How could college be more welcoming to students of different races and economic backgrounds?

Our institution welcomes students of all races. The economic background is evident from the students’ background and their admission process. Equal chance is given to the students of all races and economic backgrounds. Bringing down the gap and difference between individuals is reduced by admission of students across the country irrespective of their socio-economic conditions and races. Students’ Council and Admission Committee make sure that there is no disparity shown among the students. Our institution is committed towards the best interest of the deprived students. We give scholarships to economically backward students.

With the given resources, we ensure that the college is functioning in accordance with the Vision, Mission, Policies and Objectives. In addition, we make the college a distinctive one among the cut-throat competition. We try to keep it unique in all respects and a socially responsible institution. Providing quality education in every discipline through advanced technologies for upliftment of individual life is my responsibility. Another one is ultimately building the society and nation. Another duty is commitment towards the work. So, learning is made possible for every individual and institution growth is never compromised. Building a perfect organization culture by preparing for overall growth of the institution is the need of the hour.

Inculcating competitiveness at par with national or international developments is a primary priority. Innovation in every respect according to the changes in the industry is necessary. We try to build organizational culture to get adopted for changes in the education industry.Ensuring the best work environment by bringing best practices across the industry is the primary need. Making every student a Self-reliant and job-provider rather than job-seeker will be our vital focus for next year. We decided to introduce programmes and courses of global standards and requirements. Other wishes include making the institution technologically sound, attracting international students or faculty, and promoting research in all the disciplines.
What is your vision for the V.L.B. Janakiammal College Of Arts And Science and how far along is it for implementing it?
“Engaging society and industry through internal support systems is my primary vision”
Widening the educational areas by promoting advanced frontiers of knowledge, research, engaging both society and industry through internal support systems is my vision. It has been just one year since I assumed this office and understood there are miles to go. The generous support of the management, cooperation of staff ensures to give the final shape to the vision. However, according to my road map against all the odds to achieve academic goals, a plan for 10 years has been framed and is marching in that direction successfully.

We follow a few best practices in our institution which others are not aware of. Some of these include Inter-state culture is being followed. Tamilnadu and Kerala culture are most encouraged among the stakeholders. The geographical location of the institution is in its favor. Hence cultural events like Onam are part of our celebrations in our campus. Academically, students are allowed to take up the assignment once placed through campus recruitment. They are exempted from attending regular class for facilitating to join the duty immediately. Hence, they are able to earn while learning by self-study.

In my view, students need to follow three Cs in their life such as Confidence, Communication and Character. They need to be updated on the latest developments in their field or area of interest in order to stand out and differentiate from the rest of the world. Differentiating themselves from others leads them to be successful in their respective fields. However, to retain their position, confidence is much more important than other parameters. Confidence can be built only with the help of communication skills. Once reaching the top of their carrier, only character could save them to stay there forever or else downfall is for sure.

How to establish healthy relationship and environment in college?

We conduct committees / Clubs / Associations with members belonging to all the levels of the hierarchy in the institution. So, all members get along with each other without any hesitation.
