What are your roles and responsibilities towards the students?

“Being a mentor to everyone is one of the most rewarding experiences in life”

Being a Faculty of the BMS Department at ILEAD College, I believe in the holistic development of the students. I also have a unique role in engaging students into a ‘Campus Ambassador Programme’ run by our colleagues across departments. The goal is to uphold the brand ‘ILEAD’. Together with the students, I work on enhancing ILEAD’s visibility online taking its presence to prominence. Also as a Cultural Mentor of ILEAD, I encourage students to nurture their extra-curricular skills and interests.

How do you try to bring in a practical approach towards subjects?

“With help of Industry-oriented case studies and project works”

A practical approach in a field like media is very important and in order to encourage the students to have a hands-on approach. I assign them case studies, project works that are industry-oriented. By involving case studies and project works, I encourage my students to delve deeper into the subject and keep the research going.

How does your department prepare students for Higher education?

“Teaching hard work through reference books, case studies, and dissertations”

The media department at iLEAD College prepares students for Higher Education by inculcating an ethos of hard work through library reference works, case studies, dissertations and research work. I would always ask my students to delve deeper into the crux of a subject by embarking upon research and making comparative analysis wherever applicable.

How do you help your student to handle the intense competition outside the classroom?

“Self-belief and focus on research-based activities for future readiness”

A mentor in BMS is responsible for making sure the mentee is aware of the industry scenarios as well as ensuring she or he is committed to becoming an expert professional. The key is not to be stressed about any other competition than the one within. Whatever they choose to do, I encourage my students to retain their originality and be the best version of themselves. Any form of competition should always be conducted in the right spirit, and I strive to guide them in that direction.

What do you see as the college’s greatest strengths?

“Our dynamic pedagogy combined with expert Mentorship”

The greatest strength of the Media Dept. at ILEAD College is our current pedagogy combined with our Mentorship. This can certainly be furthered by adopting flexibility in approach to both and striking a friendlier chord with all our students. We are in the process of experimenting with hybrid classes and we are also favouring the safekeeping of mental health. This is done through seminars, talks and personal mentorship.

What valuable advice would you like to give to the students?

"To focus on their strengths and utilize them"

As a teacher, I have one message for the students: If they put their minds to it, they can achieve a lot. It is important for them to prioritize their skills and use them appropriately in a career. My advice to them is to stay original but also to keep on evolving.
