Prof. Anindita Bose is the Assistant Professor in the Department of Management Studies at iLead College, Kolkata. She joined iLEAD in March 2013. She holds a BBA and MBA degree and is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Management. She has a total of 12 years of experience in the education sector. At iLEAD, she is responsible for conducting classes at the UG level for the Department of Management and Media. She is also the course coordinator of the Animation Department. She is also a part of the Student Grievance Cell at iLEAD.

What are your responsibilities towards the students?

“Providing students with individualized assistance and monitoring their progress”

The role and responsibilities of a faculty member at iLead are not just restricted to teaching subjects of their specialization. Every faculty is involved in mentoring and closely monitoring the progress of the student. I am also the coordinator of the senior batches in the Dept. of Management Studies which allows me to prepare students to be industry-ready. We arrange workshops, seminars, and webinars by eminent industry personalities. As a mentor of the Alumni Club, I am involved in creating and maintaining relationships between the present student base and our alumni by arranging various talk sessions and interactive events. 

How do you try to bring in a practical approach towards subjects?

“Practical exposure, case studies and Mini projects”

For us, it is imperative to design the lectures so that students gain a comprehensive exposure by theoretically building their foundation. Also, introducing them to current industry scenarios is essential. All the classroom lectures are supported by audio-visual aids. Students are required to work on projects and assignments to gain a better understanding of the specific topic. Throughout each topic, students gain practical exposure through role-playing, case study analysis, or mini-projects.

How does your department prepare students for Higher Education?

“MoU’s, counselling sessions and training for entrance exams”

The Department provides full assistance in a student’s Higher Education by way of various MOUs that the institution has with various universities. Formal counselling sessions are arranged to help a student understand his or her area of interest. Additionally, the mentors who closely supervise all students during their tenure in the institution are better able to assist them and guide them towards realizing their potential. To make our students more competitive, various competitive exam workshops are arranged from time to time.

In a world where competition is so fierce, how do you prepare your students?

“Achieve holistic development to gain life skills”

In my classes, I encourage my students to run at their own pace rather than teaching them to adapt to the competition. This will help them to survive, then grow, and eventually flourish in such an environment. My goal is to help students achieve holistic development so they are not only successful in their careers but also lead successful and happy lives. Life skills are much more important than professional skills that can become outdated over time.

What do you see as the department’s greatest strengths?

“Our iLead family embraces every student in the department”

The greatest strengths of the management department lie in treating each student of the department as a part of our iLead family. When we see someone as a part of our family we go that extra mile to make them feel comfortable. The admissions process may just be a number for many, but at our institution, the students who attend are embarking on a journey. It gives them career-related experience and develops them into good human beings. Education, according to me, is the key to building a nation.
