What are your roles and responsibilities towards the students?

“Providing the best learning environment”

As a faculty of the Department of Physics, I have an important role to play in helping the students to gain in-depth knowledge about the subject and experimental investigation. I feel very happy when students really understand a concept or theory and appreciate the role it plays in their development. I always try to build a positive relationship with my students by making the classroom environment more conducive to learning. I aspire to meet the developmental, emotional and academic needs of the students.

How do you try to bring in a practical approach towards subjects?

“Experiential learning with most advanced curriculum”

Engineering is skill-based education and practical knowledge is more important than theoretical knowledge. It involves a range of activities and is also used for a number of purposes, such as developing specific science investigation skills, such as designing appropriate tests, or critically examining evidence. We provide such types of facilities to our students in the lab to meet these kinds of skill requirements. Also, the curriculum focuses on student needs at all learning levels. The curriculum of any course must be updated from time to time as per the current needs of industries. We modify the curriculum using data from the reviews and expert talks.

What are your views on the placements of the students from your department?

“Pre-placement preparations and industrial conditions”

The Placement Cell in our institute plays a vital role in finding job opportunities for college pass-out students by keeping in touch with reputed firms and industrial establishments. The placement cell regularly conducts career counseling sessions by experts, group discussions, mock interviews, skill development sessions, etc. on a regular basis to groom the students. Also, we are focusing on giving better education to make our student’s job providers instead of job seekers.

How do you help your student to cope up with the high competition outside?

“Regular guidance and boosting growth”

In my department as well as in the institute, we are providing quality education to the students. Along with regular teaching in classrooms, we teach them to be the best they can be by encouraging them to compare themselves to their past selves to face the competition in the outside world. We motivate them to do better and progress every day and not to compare with others but to focus more on their self-development. By doing so, they can build confidence and realize their potential.

What approaches do you bring in apart from curriculum to train the students?

“Large scale development with extracurriculars”

Apart from curricular teaching of subjects, we are focusing on interventions that include building relationships, management skills, communication skills, developing social skills, etc. for holistic development of students. Extracurricular activities provide a channel for reinforcing the lessons learned in the classroom, offering students the opportunity to apply academic skills in a real-world context, and are thus considered part of a well-rounded education. We have several clubs for this type of activity in our institute for the overall development of the students.

What valuable advice would you give to the students to have a prosperous career?

“Relate to right things in life”

I would like to advise the students to be honest about their work, enhance their skills and knowledge, find a balance with personal life and always be happy. They must not indulge in unnecessary peer pressure or irrelevant activities. Student life must be enjoyable but at the same time dedicated and passionate.
