Dr. Jasdeep Kaur Dhami is designated as the Director of the CT Institute of Management and Technology (CTIMIT). Her education qualifications include B.Sc., MA, and a Ph.D. Having experience of 8 years as a professor and research coordinator, she has published more than 10 research papers in both National and International Journals.

Dr. Dhami talks about managing responsibilities

Being the Director and Professor in CTIMIT, one needs to be a person with vision and mission. After serving as a Professor and achieving the goals & objectives of learning, it becomes challenging to direct an Institute and hence proving the caliber to achieve the same. In my perspective, the teaching experience pays a lot for the furnishing of a Director to deal with the respective responsibilities.

Balancing act as Director and Professor of CTIMIT

According to me, both of the designations serve the same purpose of inculcating and brightening someone’s virtues which revert in learning and polishing one up. Although it had been an enriching experience to be a Professor and dealing with the young minds being the Director, it is in itself a challenging role to lead them towards the betterment of Institute and providing the exposure as well.

Challenges faced as an educationalist

Being a teacher/professor/director, you need to tackle a bunch of individuals. In my experience, whether it is a classroom teaching, conducting labs, assigning tasks to my team members or may it be a counseling session, I came across many challenges.

Every student has an individual identity with different characteristics, while some of them are intelligent, sincere, follow teachers guidance, and some are not. The first challenge is to work on the lower profile student to upgrade him/her. The common problems faced by them are anxiety, stress, depression, loneliness, adjusting to a new culture, homesickness, issues with family, friends, study problems, including difficulties with writing, speaking and putting things off (procrastination) and perfectionism. When it comes to deal with faculty and staff on, one on one basis, track each of their records regularly, keeping an eye on their growth chart is although a tedious and challenging job, but after achieving it, this gives you inner satisfaction & happiness.

Dr. Dhami views on the importance of time management

Time is the variable which leads to the rise and fall of a certain empire or even an Institute or an individual. Therefore, it is necessary to manage it well. Time Management should be taught to the students at an early stage so that it can help them in their growth towards a disciplined and scheduled lifestyle which will get them to a definite success level. To achieve this goal, students should be given an environment to learn the punctuality and value of time.

Skills required to excel in life according to Dr. Jasdeep Kaur

Modern Era is all about the innovations and researches in the belonging fields of human life. Being skilful is the basic essentiality of today’s life, and students should work hard over their interests and relevant skills to sustain their survival. To sharpen the edges of their aptitudes, they should acquire technological knowledge of exploring their potentials.

More inclined towards higher education than early work experience

There is no doubt in the fact that high qualification and hard work revert back. However, another fact which cannot be denied is that work experience only repays when gets mingled with high qualification. The students who get to work earlier instead of acquiring higher qualification lack behind somewhere in their perspectives.

Students should be directed towards pathways of their choice; having the milestones of their interests would take them to the polishing of their respective features to excel. It can be felt that if one’s interest becomes his/her profession, the same person can exceed successfully in his future takings.
