Dr. D Ramesh is the Principal of Visvesvaraya College of Engineering and Technology, Hyderabad. Dr. D Ramesh obtained Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Madras 2006, Master of Engineering with specialization in Machine Design from PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore in 1999 and Graduation from Institute of Engineers (India) Calcutta. In his interview he highlights upon his leadership skills which help him to understand the requirements of the students and the college as well. The college focuses on providing quality education, and apart from studies, they organize various student-engagement activities to fill the atmosphere with positivity. He mentions how the fee structure and other amenities are pro-students, and how teachers form personal connections to help elevate the quality standards of the students. In the later segment he advises students to attain focus and patience in order to achieve excellence.

I’ve been working in this industry for more than 19 Years. The key factors that keep me connected to the Education sector primarily is to impart the knowledge to the students and help them to excel. I want every student of mine to achieve greater milestones in their academics and in their future. I love to contribute my level best to help the students to grow. 

Leadership requires patience which comes with influence and experience

Leadership is something which needs a high level of patience, which comes with the influence and experience. I always trust my team that they can deliver the given assignment under the timelines. I take the responsibility of the failures and give the success credit always to the team. I worked in many institutions and with many teams, they always give a lot of respect and say that I’m the best leader that they have ever met.

We provide quality education to students via empowerment of the students to make them industry-ready. The word of mouth publicity from the students is the main marketing strategy of our college. Our students are our brand ambassadors. We aim to focus on every individual student and give the knowledge to the best.

VCET has made it one of its priorities to offer its students, by all means, to learn the necessary competences to survive in a fast-changing, digital and technological world. Anyone lacking these competences in today’s workforce is considered to be illiterate. Our college has invested in a technological infrastructure, Wi-Fi over its premises, and an e-Platform which every teacher can use to upload important notes and information, and every student can personally access in his/her own time. In addition to this, students are guided to make use of all technological means responsibly.

The Institution has well experienced and fully qualified faculty under the leadership of a young and dynamic Principal, Academic Director of the institution. With his rich experience as teacher and administrators in Technical education he has been guiding the academic program of the Institution. It’s not about the quality of education colleges should concentrate on solely, but the priority should be to stay in touch with every individual student and parent. I enjoy teaching young students the adversities of life and how to tackle them

When I came to VCET my vision was very clear that I should give my best to see every student grow and they get the best career advice. I enjoy being with the young passionate students and teaching them how to face the challenges that they might face in the future.

I feel very proud for myself and satisfying because over these 19 Years of my experience I have helped many students by giving the right career advice. Many of my students are leading their lives happily and even today seeking my advice whenever they come across the problems. I’ll keep doing this in the future as well.

Today, we are in the fast-growing developments globally, and our responsibility is to provide education blended with latest technologies in the fields of Information Technology, Computer Science, Electronics Engineering and all the vital engineering and science, Management related areas. Every bit of contribution made by the students of this Institution will make it significant and achievable for the growth of global technological advancement. I believe that during the four years of engineering course and any other PG Courses, we have to strive hard to meet the challenges ahead of us.
