Dr. Ravindra Kommineni is the Principal of the RVR and J.C. College of EngineeringGuntur, Andhra Pradesh. He did B.E, M.E, and Ph.D. from Andhra University. He has interests in manufacturing, composite materials, and robotics. He has 30 years of teaching experience and 9 months of industrial experience. He authored several publications in national and international journals. He is also a member of ISTE, IAENG, Society of Automotive Engineers, and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.

What factors connect you with the education sector?

“Quest for innovation and holistic learning”

I have been working in the field of education for the past 35 years. Teaching is my vocation. As a continuous learner, I am always connected with the education sector. Teaching students for holistic learning as a researcher, quest for innovation, are the factors that connect me to the education sector. The roles of a teacher, learner, motivator, guide, researcher, and administrator have made my education journey a fruitful one.


What is your leadership philosophy?

“Hard work, positive attitude, and commitment”

Leadership is not showing authority for me. I believe that good leaders don’t tell what to do. They show you how it’s done. My hard work, positive attitude, and commitment made me a leader. I feel that a leader motivates and inspires people instead of work demands. Encouraging people, being empathetic and positive are mantras of successful leadership. Honesty, ability to delegate tasks, estimate the capacities of the person l also make a good leader.


How do you implement key programs for the administration of RVR and J.C. College of Engineering?

“We use social media platforms to connect with the world”

Social media offers a wide range of possibilities to reach anyone on the planet. It is a great source to reach our stakeholders. Firstly, we take the advantage of our college website to give a comprehensive understanding. Moreover, we use social media platforms like youtube, Twitter, Facebook, linked in, Instagram, and Google to connect with the world. The information about various programs in the form of videos and presentations, online reviews of both students and alumni are posted on social media platforms. It encourages and fosters marketing.

College provides the right ambiance to evolve a person with all the amenities and programmers required for a learner. There is a vast difference in the educational structure in India and abroad. The students of our college sync with the academic structure of foreign countries for their higher education. Most of the students opt to go abroad for higher studies every year. The number of students of our college who have settled abroad in very good positions. Good knowledge, skills, confidence, and quick adaptation to any environment are the prime factors focused in the institution. 


How do RVR and J.C. College of Engineering welcome students of different economic backgrounds?

Our campus takes the necessary steps to address the problem in terms of cultural and economic inequality. Firstly, college assures freedom and flexibility to students to maintain good communication with the teaching faculty. The Institute practices cultural sensitivity by organizing various cultural programs through a literary, cultural forum, and a student committee (SICO). The committee enables the participation of enthusiastic students in various cultural activities. Moreover, scholarships worth 25 lakh are given to academically good and economically weak students. Nearly 250 students receive these scholarships every year in under and postgraduate courses.

The teachers are the indicator of the success of the students and the greatest asset. Their time, personal sacrifice, and effort pour into students every day. Furthermore, several development programs organized by the Entrepreneurship Management Development Cell and the ISTE student chapters of the college enhance the entrepreneurial skills of students.


Any suggestions do you like to give to aspiring students?

“Maintain emotional stability and equip themselves with strong skill sets”

Students work hard to equip themselves with strong skill sets. They are mentally strong to face challenges. Youth will have priorities to aspire to a value-based life. Moreover, finding a mentor and maintaining emotional stability are the prime factors for a successful life. 


What challenges do you see for higher education and RVR and JC College of Engineering?

“Ability to adapt to future technological developments”

The technology revolution brought sweeping changes in the lives of the people. Future considers people with good skill sets. Today’s higher education systems are quickly incompatible with automated, digitized, and fluid job markets. The ability to adapt to future technological developments is a great challenge to the education sector. Fast-growing innovators in the education industry undermine the long-established business models of education. The alternative online, inexpensive education models are other challenges to the present education sector.

How do you establish a healthy relationship on campus?

Generating a positive and healthy environment is vital for an organization. The growth and productivity depend on the environment. Open communication, transparency, encouragement, unprejudiced attitude, and moral support are factors that foster the right ambiance for good work culture. We follow this in the letter and spirit of our organization. It reflects in the retention of the faculty members. Moreover, the faculty members’ commitment and conviction talk a lot about the healthy environment of the campus.
