Dr. J.S.P Rai is one of the most renowned academicians in our country. He has completed his higher education from HBTI Kanpur and also served there at various positions in his career. He has served as Professor and Head at the Department of Plastic Technology at HBTI Kanpur from 1994 onwards and also worked as a Director at HBTI Kanpur from 2011 to 2013. He joined Bharat Institute of Technology in July 2014 as Director-General and served till November 2016. He is a Fellow at various notable professional societies such as Indian Society for technical education, Indian Thermal analysis society, to name a few. He has also taught different courses at UG & PG Level. He has completed 7 sponsored projects from Industries, MHRD, and Government of India. The World Science Congress presented him with 100 Influential Directors of India (Education) Award in June 2016.

Students should analyze their learning in the classroom

According to my experience, the education sector is ever-growing. The mentality of Indian parents is to make their child educated so in order to educate their children they spend a massive amount on them. Thus, the education sector has a deep impact on everyone. However in India, the pen-paper culture holds much prominence but we, at JUET, Guna have been working with Jai Prakash Seva Sansthan for many years and facilitate teaching learning process using e-books, video, and smart classrooms etc. Thus I strongly believe that students should learn best from their classrooms and know to analyze their learning there.

I reach out to the students, and it makes me feel comfortable to be around them

I believe if you're in the education sector, you should be transparent. Being at this position, I interact with everyone who is working with us. We have career counselling team of our faculty members to pave the right career path of the choice to career aspirants. My cabin doors are always open to everyone. I know students feel hesitant to approach me; therefore I reach out to them. It personally makes me feel comfortable to be around them.

The current generation wants a comfortable life without working hard

The latest trend about the present generation that worries me is that they all want a comfortable job without working hard. They want to have a comfortable life, without putting in much effort. Due to this reason, there is a downfall in their mental development. Thus, the challenge arises, how to pave the mind of the students in the right direction.

We allow students to participate in mock online tests, motivation sessions and colloquial sessions at our campus. Our educational curriculam, extramural exercises, industrial collaboration and network make sure that students can apply information learnt from the Institute, or gained through their endeavors and experience, to the working environment for the arrangement of a given issue in an expense and time-effective way. Teaching to learn new aptitudes and systems, the capacity to structure a framework to address wanted issues, student centric and self-directing pedagogy,constructive feedback, open communication, culture of critical thinking,mentoring and counselling, collaboration with nationally acclaimed associations, campus placements, sensitivity andresponsibility towards environmentare some highlighted practices adopted in our university.

Placement of the students is our major responsibility and we have decent placement opportunities for them. Many of the willing students avail more than one placement offers each year. To match up to the industry standards, JUET, Guna puts an extraordinary incentive in teaming up with Industry to make sure that our students receive information and expertise.

According to our scholastic program, the sixth-semester students (B.Tech- 3rd year) undergo summer training in the Industry throughout the late spring break. This preparation is an essential piece of the educational program and is planned to make students aware of procedures, meticulousness, and complexities of the modern world.
