How would you describe your leadership style?

“Taking necessary actions and engagements”

I’m an action-oriented leader who takes the lead while directing a path to the capable team so that every one of us is working towards a common goal. I like to lead by example. A leader is someone who possesses a clear vision of their goals; someone courageous, grounded, strategic, and honest. Above all, he should believe in teamwork and harness their talents to the best of their capabilities.

How do you strategize the key plans for the administration and marketing of your College?

“Integrating practices in accordance with University guideline”

It is important to revise and devise new strategies from time to time. Along with the marketing and the administration team, I analyze the current statistics of our college and plan, discuss, evaluate and review our strategies accordingly. For devising a long-term marketing strategy, we make 1 year, 2 years and 5 years plans. We focus on strengthening the SEO of our websites and make our presence known on social media as well. As ITS Engineering is affiliated with Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU), Lucknow, the University has its own deputy advisor that takes up and revises plans of all its affiliated colleges including ours. ITS Engineering follows the policies with its affiliate AKTU, which is a government University and revises its academic curriculum from time to time.

What can an inbound student gain from studying here at ITS?

“A more welcoming environment culturally and academically”

For me, the students of ITS Engineering are one big family, and everyone, regardless of race, color, religion; caste or gender is welcome here. We materialize this through cultural awareness that promotes cultural diversity amongst the students. We have established strict policies against ragging, discrimination, and unfairness towards any student. Additionally, we have nine centers of excellence with collaborations from worldwide corporations such as Apple, i.O.S, R Systems, Rockwell Automation, Syscom, etc. Also, New Gen IDEC is there to initiate and support startups, thus encouraging students to become successful entrepreneurs.

How does the curriculum of ITS Engineering ensure the best practice of industry?

“Aligning technology, infrastructure and industrial learning”

ITS believes in going beyond the theoretical syllabus. We are aware of the consistent changes in the technical skills required by the industries in India and abroad. Our teaching methods are aligned with the current trends of technology, in addition to the core knowledge and skills of the particular engineering branch. Furthermore, we strive to close the gap between students and industries through state-of-the-art labs, industry visits, live projects, expert talks, internships, and workshops, with placements as our end goal. Our faculty members keep themselves abreast with the current industry developments and make a substantial contribution to academia through quality teaching, patent publications, seminars, and conferences, etc.

What do you think your roles and responsibilities to the students are?

“Securing students future and paving paths for success”

College is an integral part of a student’s life that paves the way to their future ahead. It is our responsibility to ensure an enriching and fruitful experience for them which further binds them to be placed in a well-established company. I work with the management and the faculty to provide effective learning, industrial exposure and a standardized curricular system to the students. To both the students as well as the faculty, I intend to make ITS Engineering an open, comfortable space where they can learn, flourish and utilize their talents.

What has been your vision for the ITS Engineering College?

“To provide a learning platform for emerging engineers and entrepreneurs”

ITS Engineering has always been designed to be the Technical institute of choice. A place where students can fulfill their dreams of becoming successful engineers. We, at ITS Engineering College, strive to meet the end goals for students - Job or Business. For jobs, we organize campus placements throughout the year and train students for placements accordingly. Moreover, we have established nine centers of excellence that are aimed at bridging the gap between academics and industry. With that, we have successfully organized over 350+ company visits and around 80% of engineering students were offered jobs by reputable companies. Besides that, we have startup cells and New Gen IDEC which is geared towards converting business ideas into a commercial reality through start-ups. I act as a chief coordinator for NewGen IDEC to manage all the same. We have a solid base of 10 ongoing startups that are running successfully since their establishment.

What would you like people to know about your college they may not know?

“Vast scholarships and repute in innovation skills”

ITS Engineering has been providing scholarships to talented and needful students since its inception. We extend scholarships to both engineering and management students based on merit, sports, minority space, and defense. We have provided 2500+ merit-based scholarships to the students till now. At least 20 students are provided 100% scholarships each year. We strongly believe in harnessing young minds and turning their innovative ideas into reality through start-up businesses. The college provides the skillset as well as the space for that in the entrepreneurship development cell and startup cell. This is quite evident from the ‘Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements’ (ARIIA) which has ranked ITS Engineering College in the top 6th - 25th private institutes across India. ARIIA bases its ranking on innovation, funding and the number of startups in that financial year. In fact, ITS Engineering is the only institute in Greater Noida having the ARIIA ranking.

What are some of the biggest challenges you see for higher education?

“Indistinctive mismatch of the core textbooks and current trends of technology”

The Ministry of Education in India reviews and revises textbooks after every 5 years. By then too much has changed in the corporate-tech world which is not reflected in the curriculum books issued to the students. A varied gap between theoretical and practical knowledge is created as a result. Hence, students are unable to adapt to the current industrial practices after they step into the corporate world. Though Colleges do adapt their curriculum system with the latest industrial practices, it would be immensely helpful if the government does the same with the course books as well for the availability of the students.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the current youth?

“Success is always a process, never an event”

Success cannot be obtained in a day, nor can it be obtained by cramming the syllabus three days before the exam. Learning is a continuous process. You don’t have to break a sweat each day. Instead, learn something new every day and revise your notes every day. You’ll see substantial growth in your career. In the same way, a failure is always an event, never a person—there’s always room for improvement. In the end, I would like to advise the younger generation to be disciplined, to stay grounded to their roots and be a good person at heart.

What plans are you currently working on for the benefit of students?

“Strengthening student skills and discovering more creativity”

We are all aware of the dire unemployment issue that engineers often face in India after graduation. There are two factors behind that—lack of technical skills and lack of industrial exposure. ITS Engineering strives to bridge the unemployment gap by providing exactly that. Our industrial interaction network is stronger than ever which helps us in imparting more exposure to the students through more industrial visits, internships, and placements. Moreover, we have a dedicated team of professionals for up-skilling students on their soft skills, hence making them all-rounders. We are consistently trying to discover new innovative methods too.
