Having a total experience of 26 years in teaching and academic administration, he has been a prominent member of many Technical Committees and Professional bodies across India. Also, he has published research papers in several national and international journals, magazines and conferences, and has been a Reviewer and Editor of many journals as well. Moreover, he has been Honorary Secretary, Member of Executive Committee and Head of the Counseling Wing to Institution of Engineers (India), Bhilai Local Centre.

What are the key factors that keep you connected with the educational sector?

“Encountering young and potential minds worldwide”

Every year, a fresh batch of students get admitted to a technical institute and let us teachers remain ever connected with young and aspiring minds. This also keeps the teaching fraternity energetic and young. In the education sector, I have all the opportunity to be in frequent touch with researchers, industry professionals, academicians, and with Alumni spread all over the world, amongst others, that helps in keeping me professionally updated and share the experience thus gained with the students. 


How would you describe your leadership style?

“Adequate integration and performance by each member”

We work in a team, wherein the roles and responsibilities of each team member are well defined. Taking regular feedback from team members makes the job simpler. This way, any step required for further enrichment comes to the fore at an early stage and remedial measures required, if any, can be taken without any delay. In this academic institution, I inspire, encourage and guide my faculty and staff members to carry out the responsibilities assigned to them in the most efficient way, to the best advantage of our students.

Minor and Major Projects are an integral part of our curriculum. Students are encouraged to undertake Industry-based projects, wherein they can work on real problems and try to come up with a challenging solution, which is feasible, both economically and practically. Over the period of time, our Institute has further reinforced its position as a premier technical Institute in the country. In 2020, our institute became the first Institute in the state of Chhattisgarh to be awarded autonomous status by the University Grants Commission. This has now given us the flexibility to frame our own curriculum. The curriculum that we are developing is in line with the model curriculum suggested by AICTE and as per the needs of the industry. This will give our students an edge in facing real-world challenges. Currently, we are the most sought-after self-financed Institute of Chhattisgarh, and in the future, we would like to be the most sought-after institute in the country.


What are the biggest challenges you see both for higher education recently?

“Meeting up academic needs through digital and online mode”

During these pandemic times, our faculty had to cope up with online teaching methodology in a very short span of time. In the post-pandemic era as well, I believe that online teaching will play a significant role, owing to its inherent advantages. To become well-versed with the modern technology and availability of state-of-the-art teaching aids along with the required infrastructure, that will facilitate online teaching, is something that will keep challenging us for the next couple of years.

Any suggestions you would like to give to the aspiring students?

“Acquire wide range of skills and utilize your resources wisely”

First of all, students should indulge themselves in various co-curricular activities along with their studies, so as to identify a field in which they would like to pursue their career. Also,, they should keep abreast of the development in their field of interest. This way, they will be way ahead of their competitors and will have better prospects to progress further in their chosen field. Finally, I would suggest the students to avoid activities that may distract them and use the internet judiciously to have a clean digital footprint.
