Prof. C.P.Singh is working as Director in BBS College of Engg. and Technology, Allahabad. He has Eighteen years of experience in teaching and one year in the Industry. He has a Ph.D. to his credit. He has worked at different administrative positions as Head of Department, Head academic committee, chief proctor and chairman anti-ragging committee, Nodal Officer for UPSEE at Sultanpur, Observer /Controller at every semester examination, center in charge, and observer for UPSEE counseling. He has more than fifteen research papers published in national and international journals of repute.

What is your philosophy of leadership?

“Nurture a team that not only has the requisite skill but also understands the responsibility they shoulder”

Teachers should not be given any order. I believe that teamwork should be followed. I try to improve the processes by discussing them within departments with all the faculty members. All faculty members have a sense of responsibility towards the institute and they feel that they will grow along with the institute. As a director, I am involved in both administration and academics. Whenever I am taking classes and projects, I get to understand student’s expectations also.

How do you plan for the marketing and administration of your college?

“Developing a strong digital presence with our academic content and promotion via social media and press”

 Whatever major activities we do, we try to get it released in the press. We invite reporters to our institute and give them content for articles. Apart from this, social media platforms are also doing well for us. We post regular content to update people about our activities.

How has COVID 19 impacted your institute and what factors will decide the future of online education?

“Educational process has gone digital but it’s still a long way to go for our rural students”

It has not only affected the coursework and examination but the admission procedure as well. But since we were already familiar with Microsoft teams software, we were able to conduct classes through it. The students were thus able to complete their course on time. But the challenge was that only 50-60% of the students were only able to connect to the software. 40% of the students enrolled here are below the poverty line, who don’t own android or other smartphones. Such students faced a lot of difficulties. Due to Covid 19, our admission process was also delayed and it got stretched till January 2021. Thus the entire academic year has started late and there is also fear among students due to Covid19.

The key metrics that will decide the future of the online industry is how well the tasks are organized, if the students and faculty are ready to work hard and how well the process is implemented.

What do you think should be the B.B.S. College of Engineering and Technology’s Top priority over the next 10 years?

“Our top priority for the next 10 years is to improve the Quality of Education, Placements, and Extracurricular activities” 

We are trying to get more senior professors as visiting faculty from IIIT And MNIT Allahabad for guest lectures. We are also focusing on the Faculty Development Programme (FDP) monthly so that the faculty also focuses on new technology rather than just sticking to the university curriculum. We have collaborated with IIIT and MNIT Allahabad for seminars, workshops, etc. We are also trying to get more admissions and include better courses like B.Pharma and Biotechnology.

What would you like people to know about your institute they may not know?

“A special augmentation program has begun for the overall personality development of the students”

 Its quality of education and placement activities. The BBS College of Engineering and Technology at BBS Group of Institutions, Prayagraj is well equipped with highly qualified faculty drawn from top Institutions of high repute. The state of the art and futuristic teaching aids constitutes the basic part of its infrastructure. We intend that the degree program will make a measurable difference to the employer company. And to meet this objective, a special Personality Excellence and Technical Knowledge Augmentation Program, has been constituted as a co-curriculum course during the entire undergraduate and post-graduate program. 

How does the curriculum of B.B.S. College of Engineering and Technology ensure the best practice of industry?

“We try to enhance students knowledge from academic guest lectures and various industrial training”

We get visiting faculties and trainers to train students on the relevant practical concepts and skill development. We have created a department which is into international and industry affairs. Their role is to organize all industrial visits in nearby industries and update the students about the current technologies and job skills that are required. This has led to an increase in students’ interest in securing a good placement and has made them work-oriented.

What message would you like to give the current and aspiring students of your college?

“Work hard with sheer dedication and focus, don’t let small failures affect your growth”

We encourage the student to keep working hard because, in the end, it will bring you success. For both, passing the exams as well as placements, the students need to prepare well whether there is a pandemic or not. But we can only guide them and students need to work hard from their end.
