The University of Greifswald does not demand a typical tuition fee. Students have to pay 82 USD per semester as Semester contribution and 107 USD once as enrolment fee.
The master's degree program "Mathematics" in Greifswald ties in seamlessly with a bachelor's degree with mathematical content. The goal is to enable independent scientific work both in the application of mathematical methods in practice and in mathematical research. The mathematical knowledge acquired in the bachelor's degree is deepened during the master's degree and the student is introduced to demanding fields of application and current research through advanced and special lectures. The relevant areas of work are determined by the students themselves under the guidance. The standard period of study is 4 semesters.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
A first professional qualification (usually a bachelor's degree) in a mathematical course is required, in which at least 180 credit points have been earned.
Prior to commencing studies, students will be required to provide proof of German language proficiency. The following certificates are recognized by the University of Greifswald for applications to a full degree course:
- the ‘Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang ausländischer Studienbewerber’ (DSH) at least level 2*
- the ‘Deutsche Sprachdiplom der Kultusministerkonferenz’ (level 2)
- the Goethe-Zertifikat C2 from the Goethe Institute
- the ‘Test Deutsch als Fremdsprache’ (Test DaF), at least level 4 in all partial examinations*
- the certificate ‘telc Deutsch C1 Hochschule’
- a completed degree in German Studies, an assessment test with German as an examination subject.
