The master's program in physics at the Georg-August University Göttingen is a research-oriented course of study that qualifies for demanding tasks in research and development and prepares for a Ph.D. in physics. Our Faculty is characterized by a broad and internationally renowned research spectrum, students are involved in at an early stage.
The main research areas of the faculty are also reflected in the major fields of study. Every master student has to choose one of them:

The semester fees comprise administration fees, student body fees, and a Student union fee. The summer semester fee totals $476.54 for 2021. While the Winter semester fee totals $470.43 for 2021. So the yearly fee for attending this program is $946.97.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:

Bachelor's degree in Physics or in related subject with at least three years of study and at least 180 Credits:
- including at least 126 credits in the field of physics, mathematics, chemistry, biology or computer sciences,
- including at least 66 credits in the field of physics,
- including at least 12 credits in the field of theoretical physics (quantum mechanics and statistical mechanics)
- Non-EU applicants have to do the GRE physical Test.
Indian Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Applicants whose native language is not English must provide proof of their English skills.
- Applicants whose native language is not German and who neither meet a German university entrance qualification nor have acquired their bachelor degree at a German university, must provide proof of their German skills
- Proof of German skills is not necessary for applicants whose native language is English or who provide excellent English skills.
The minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
