MHT CET 2022 Score Normalization
- MHT CET is usually conducted in multiple shifts. Despite all the efforts of maintaining an equivalence in the level of questions of the exam, there are chances that the level of difficulty is not the same in all the shifts. So to overcome this, a Normalization Method has been adopted.
- The Percentile score will be the Normalized Score for the examination (instead of the raw marks of the candidate).
- The Percentile Scores will be calculated up to 7 decimal places to avoid the bunching effect and reduce ties.
3 Steps Procedure for Normalization and Preparation of Percentile Score
Step 1: Distribution of Examinees in two days and in two shifts per day
Candidates would be distributed into four sessions randomly so that each session has an approximately equal number of candidates.
Sessions | Days |
---|---|
Session 1 | Day 1, Shift 1 |
Session 2 | Day 1, Shift 2 |
Session 3 | Day 2, Shift 1 |
Session 4 | Day 2, Shift 2 |
Step-2: Preparation of Results for each Session
- The result for each session will be prepared in the form of Raw Scores and Percentile Score separately for each subject.
- The formula used will be the same as mentioned above.
Step 3: Compilation of Total Score
- The Percentile scores for the Total Raw Score for all the four sessions as calculated in Step-2 would be merged and will be called CET scores which will then be used for the compilation of results.
Note: The Percentile of the total shall NOT be an aggregate or average of the Percentile of individual subjects. The percentile score is not the same as the percentage of marks obtained.
